Overall the stay was good. Great location right on the beach, with water sports. The staff was very friendly. Shows at night were good. Casino very small but had the basics. Food overall wasnt that great, but was edible. Breakfast was awesome. Alot of shopping close by. Pool was great. Great entertainment both during the day and at night. Had many activities during the day - soccer, volleyball, ping pong, bingo, bacci ball, horse shoes, dance competitions. Many activities for kids and adults.

in this hotel you can have a private moment in a nice secluded beach or go wild on the beach on the other side of the hotel or the pool area. If you need something to wear, there are many shops and not just turist wear, I mean everything. All inclusive is excellent for people who loves to eat. There are barbeques next to the beach, weekly carnival nights where the streets of the hotel goes nuts with singers, dancers. Parties in the beach in the night with live bans. Nightly shows and after parties, kids shows. My family went crazy and we plan to come back.

Beautiful location, great shows by the animation team. Took wonderful excursions to Paradise Island (Best snorkeling ever!) & the catamaran was awesome. The hotel was lovely & was spotlessly clean. The food was well done for a buffet. On the negative side, we had a couple of issues (empty mini bar & broken door to the patio) both of which required multiple calls to rectify since the standard answer seemed to be "We were told that was taken care of", most of the staff was friendly but some (I emphasize some)of the front desk help seemed a bit lacking in customer service.

I'd like to start by saying that I think traveler's reviews are so important when it comes to booking a trip so I want to make sure I convey what our trip was like! It was just me and my fiance that went for 8 days, 7 nights. The first day we got there it poured and we though, oh no.. but after that the weather was absolutely beautiful...dare I say too hot?? Make sure you bring sunblock, probably stronger than 30 because we still got a little burnt! The sun is very strong! Our room was very nice (703) it faced the pool and was centrally located which was very nice! The maids were great, a couple dollars now in then would get you far, although they never refilled our water, we always had to ask for it (don't drink the tap water in case you didn't know that!) The pool is absolutely gorgeous and by far the best one of the 3 hotels. Only bummer is having to walk around it to go get a drink if you sit somewhere not at the bar (no waitstaff...but hey who doesn't need the exercise!) Oddly enough there were TONS of sun chairs, the ones in the shade were the ones hard to come acrossed! The bars were nice, we checked out la discoteca a couple nights and it was alright, very night-cluby but fun if you'd had more than a couple drinks. The one bar is open 7p-7a and is by the entertainment and casino (don't go, no one ever wins there!!). The pool bar closed at 5pm, pool at 7pm and the other bar at 12am. You HAVE to ask for alcohol to be put in your drinks if you order like the banana mamas or something like that because they won't put it in unless you ask! They beer was good, we mainly drank that and it wasn't watered down, my hangover could tell you that! The entertainment was good, they really tried to get people involved and if you're willing you'd enjoy it. The food...ah the food. If you're not a picky eater (which were not at all) you might be ok. The breakfast and lunches were not very good and seriously was the same food e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y! I've never wanted real food so bad!

The staff was super friendly and fun. There were numerous games and activities throughout the day. Every night there was a different performance. Music all throughout the place. The dining rooms and bedrooms were clean. Was not impressed with the water, to many rocks. It rained several different nights but each room had an umbrella which was very helpful. THe food was not good at all.

The hotel was great. The service was phenomenal. The staff recognizes you and is helpful, friendly, and always at your service (a great tip is well deserved). The pools were great. The grounds were maintained on a daily basis. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned everyday (I seen the maids spray and wipe down the balconies and I seen the staff actually scrub the buildings themselves). The shows were great..the buffet food was very good for a buffet...dont bother with the restaurants because it's all the same stuff. Do NOT take the "Tip Top" tour on the catamaran. It is a complete waste of time. Make sure you come prepared with immodium, benedryl and headache meds. Two out of six of us had stomach issues and one of us got a rash from the catamaran excursion (most likely as a result of the extremely salty water that we were in when snorkeling). All in all we had a wonderful time and plan on returning soon.

My experience at the hotel was great. I would wake up early and enjoy the breakfast (they had great options for breakfast). The staff and atmosphere was so cheerfull and i would stay at the pool and the beach because both were great. I really loved this vacation and the shows at night were fun and always drew a good crowd.

At first I was a little leary about booking this hotel as some of the reviews were not favorable. The price was too good to give up. All I can say is that we had a wonderful time. The rooms were pretty good and clean. The only complaint I had was my lumpy pillow which I never addressed. I'm sure if I had complained they would have bought me a new one. The buffet was fantastic - everything we ate was great. We never had a bad meal or service. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. During the day the Animation Staff kept you pretty busy around the pool - many activities offered. My trip was from May 16-May 23rd and I'm ready to go back.

The staff was very friendly and very hard working. They try their best to make your vacation a memorable one. The pool was nice and fairly clean. The rooms were clean as well. The beach was a short walk away and the food was too. The buffet was good for an all-inclusive buffet. There were a lot of local dishes including vegetarian dishes.

Based on the reviews I read before booking this resort, I was very disappointed. In brief, if you're looking for denny's quality food, drinks mixed very strong with very low quality alcohol, and not leaving the resort, this might be the place for you. If you have visited a Bahia Principe or Dreams caliber resort you will be highly disappointed by the quality and variety of the food and bar service. If you like to get out of the resort to partake in things like scuba diving or surfing and enjoy actually using the water sports equipment you would be wise to choose another resort. I will not stay at another Riu resort. Other options are much better for a small additional price. The following is a detailed account of our experience. The good and the bad. Getting to the resort: We purchased airport transfers from Coco Tours. After reading about airport "porters" I grabbed my bags after checking through and made my way past the swarm of airport staff. If you don't need help simply say "no quiero aydame" and keep walking. After spotting the coco tours sign the guy grabbed our bags and led us to the bus. (It's about 40 feet, it's a small airport and the parking is just past the doors.) Once the bags were on the boat he told us that we owed him $10 for putting our bags on the boats. What? That was outrageous, but they have you captive and you have no choice. Apparently he wasn't even with coco tours, although there is some agreement obviously. Rip off and waste of money. The return trip was better, but they only offered us departure 4 hours before our flight so we had to sit in the airport for 3 hours waiting for the plane. The rooms: The rooms were reasonably spacious and all have a balcony. Upon booking I emailed a request to be near the pools and entertainment. We were placed in the closest building to the entertainment. That was nice. Our room had two queen beds pushed together. It was cleaned well. The toilet seat was broken, which made it difficult as it would not sit

This hotel is awesome. This is my first time in a hotel in the Dominican Republic and i loved it. Every thing is clean, organized, staff super accommodating...Different food to choose from, bars all over the place and even a disco. The only thing is that they dont have the beer Presidente, and that is the most popular beer in the Dominican Republic. Other than that every thing was great, also is very accommodating for kids. You should also try the Boogie Tour its a lot of fun....

First, let me start by warning you to carry your own luggage when exiting the airport. It is a lot like Mexico where everyone is trying to offer to carry your luggage and give you a ride. A guy grabbed our bags and walked us to our prearranged transportation (Coco Tours through Orbitz)Then, kept demanding that we give him a $10 tip and was very rude. We didn't give in and later questioned if he even worked for that operation. He was also demanding $20 a bag for a couple behind us! Once we arrived at the hotel Check-in was quick and easy! Our ocean view (bay view, actually) room was amazing! Not very clean the first day, but an amazing view! After the second day when we started tipping the maid we received fresh flowers and towel animals. The following day we met with our Coco Tours rep for our welcoming briefing and to book excursions. I recommend bringing cash if you plan on doing any excursions or book online ahead of time! Most of them run 80 USD and up. They only used our debit card for a deposit and we were expected to pay the remainder of the price to the excursion operation. Our rep told us we would be able to pay with our credit, which turned out not to be the case and ended up being a huge headache. We were also told our rep would be in the lobby everyday from 8-1 if we needed anything. What he failed to tell us is that he would be on vacation all week. We lucked out finding return transportation and by chance found another couple being picked up by Coco Tours to the airport; as our rep was not available to arrange the day before leaving like we were instructed. So, if Coco Tours would be a bit more organized our trip would have been more enjoyable! Besides the food being sub par and repetitive and experience overall was great! The hotel grounds are very well kept and the location and view are amazing. The beach is large and if you don't like the shade trees on the beach in front of Riu Bachatta, you can walk further down. We never had a problem finding a c

This was the worst resort i have ever stayed at. i wouldn't recommend or promote this resort if you paid me. The food is unedible and is repeated every night. I don't mean just the menus, i mean the food itself - no, i am not kidding. The drinks may be strong but they are made with the cheapest and most disgusting liquor. We had two rooms for 5 nights but because one of the rooms was so bad and went without service for the duration we were in one room. No one spoke English or even close to English which made everything from questions about the resort to ordering drinks nearly impossible to get answered. You are granted access to the 2 sister resorts next door but dont go because they are even worse than the Bachata. I am a seasoned traveler and I have never ever encountered a resort as bad as this one. PLEASE don't waste your money. I promise you I am telling you the truth - I wish someone told me.

This stay was excellent!! We stayed for several nights here and everything was great. Photos do not do this place justice. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, and several people were getting married during our stay there. The staff is very friendly, especially the animation team which really goes out of their way to make it a memorable stay. No matter what type of vacationer you are, they have something for you. The food is good, not great, but as long as you're not looking for a five star buffet you'll be fine. Skip reservations to the two speciality restaurants, not worth it. The animation team does a great job entertaining you throughout the day. Be sure to check out "crazy games" by the pool in the afternoon and the nightly show. Don't be afraid to participate, you won't regret it and may even win some souveniers! The casino isn't flashy, but has the basics. The english of the dealers wasn't great, so know what you're doing if your playing table games. And be sure to bring US dollars. No one seems to tip, and throwing the bartenders a dollar every round or two of drinks will make sure they get to you first and have a heavy hand. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends/family!!
