Accomodation was good. Most of the service was good except for when they booked the wrong bus to take us to avalon airport.

Stayed here for Australian Open. Paid through a travel agent in November - an 'all inclusive' package. Then, the hotel billed my credit card in April for the stay. NEVER EVER give them your business!

Excellent location for getting around Melbourne CBD. Loved the view of the Yarra from 9th floor room across to Southbank. Double glazing on bedroom windows kept noise to acceptable level. Reception staff in particular very helpful especially with regard to queries about how to get to places.

A very central location with polite and helpful staff. Very clean room with well designed suites. Transport no problem with trams and trains nearby. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

This place would have to be the place Faulty Towers was based on. Hotel is right in front of train tracks and is so noisy you'll never sleep! BEWARE!!

Would have preferred a bigger screen t.v or at lest one that swivelled so we could watch from the bed, the small one attached to the wall only useful for sitting in front of to use the net.AC/Heating unit noisy. Don't like combined shampoo and conditioner, seperate products please. Need for a king room w views and breakfast package, breakfast only offered w queen room.Reception staff could have looked smarter and been friendlier and mentioned some of the hotels facilities/locations.

We were happy with the studio room, although it was very small. It was great for a few nights, but not something that would be comfortable for us, for any more than that. It was quiet, warm and clean. The service was pleasant and staff helpful. The hotel was a short walk to the Casino and Convention Centre and also close to trams etc.

Our stay was wonderful...very welcoming staff, clean well designed room and great location. The access to the athletic club was a great plus also. We are definately returning to this hotel. A great representative of the Clarion Hotel line.

We had a riverview kingsize bed room. The bathroom is tiny - just a shower over the bath with a stupid half screen (and lots of water leaking over the toilet). They say they are about to renovate - these bathrooms need it! The bed was OK. Great location, we could walk everywhere we needed to go from the Hotel. The breakafast in the Restaurant was fine, as was the one evening meal we ate there. My daughter ended up in a one bedroom apartment. No view, but the facilities were fantastic!

If you like noise then this is it - positioned next to major train line which went all night and rooms not double-glazed.I asked staff if we could be moved but they were not helpful at all - Give this one a big miss!

We have stayed at this Hotel the last two times we have been in Melbourne and now wont stay anywhere else.There was no noise from the 11th or 14th floors where we stayed and we were at the front of the building opposite the train tracks! They even left a welcome back note in our room and some yummy cookies.(very nice touch).We will be going back again soon.

This hotel indicates that it has Foxtel/cable TV but only has 4 channels and 3 are sport. Screen size is small even tho flatscreen and cannot be moved on swivel bas. i would recommend taking a one bedroom iso a studio as it is very small but sufficient if on one night stay. Staff are fantastic and gave feedback to Managemnet which was replied to sma e day. Obviously they appreciate their staff and this shows.

In a city where personnel in the hospitality industry do not smile much, Clarion Suites Gateway staffs are suprisingly friendly and helpful. They greeted us as we were leaving and entering everyday.
