Low price. The smell in the room. Overall price and staff make it a good value just wish the room didn't have an old smell to it.

The hotel was overall poorly maintained. The exterior and landscaping was very weathered. We witnessed a squirrel entering a hole in roof of our building. Luckily for us we were on the first floor. The room had a very unpleasant smell that was masked by overwhelming deodorizer. The walls had holes/cracks in them. Shower rod had been reattached incorrectly, so the curtain did not stay closed when in use. Holes were visible at previous location. I purchased a double mixed drink and glass of wine from the restaurant for an outrageous price of $26! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay there again.

This hotel is filthy, bugs in the room this hotel needs to be an Econo Lodge . Terrible noise from rooms upstairs. Noise through the bathrooms. Televisions do not work. Phones do not work. Lamps missing bulbs. Bugs in the rooms. Carpet was filthy. Staff was not friendly. Worst hotel on the beach.

It had a wonderful swimming pool and some outdoor activities. Some of the beach was not accessible and there were few outdoor areas that provided shade. Wonderful environment with bicycles and golf carts for rent in order to tour the island. Pleasant surroundings with easy access to the beach.

The hotel staff was very helpful. The rooms are old and stale.

After reading these reviews, I am the type of person who likes to check things for themselves. Upon my arrival, I found the people at the Front Desk to be very friendly and helpful. When I checked into my room (got an Oceanfront), the view was breathtaking. Ate in the restaurant and had the best Rib-Eye I have had in a very long time. What is wrong with people. I guess it just goes to show you can't believe everything you read

The restaurant served good food for a reasonable price. The room/deck/building looked as if it had not been updated in 10+ years. The buildings/rooms needed upgraded inside and out. We had to pay extra for a microwave and mini-fridge. The beach was unaccessible because of the huge rocks between the hotel and the beach. We had to drive a couple of miles to the public beach. The pool area was nice.

We had a superb visit to Clairion Resort. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful and the resort was absolutely beautiful. We loved everything about it. The lobby was immaculate and the rooms are charming. We will definately make our next trip back.

Great view of the ocean and nice balcony to sit and relax on. Old, small, smelled bad. Was cleaned but still dingy. The hotel is undergoing a much needed renovation; the lobby and restaurant are complete and very nice but construction is still taking place on half of the hotel. My wife and I stayed in one of the un-remodeled rooms. It was small with only a king bed, small TV, cube sized refrigerator, an easy chair and table. The room was cleaned but it stilled seemed dingy; my wife found some kind of dirt on the bed cover, and the chair was stained so we didn¿t use either one. The room was cooled by an old window unit that was noisy and probably contributed to the room¿s unpleasant smell. If we had been staying more than one night I would have looked into moving to another room or out of the hotel. The room was on the second floor, ocean side and had a small balcony with two plastic chairs. I¿m glad I selected the second floor when making reservations because the first floor had only a view of a cement retention wall. We had a great view of the beach and ocean; the only obstructions were some small trees. We would probably stay at this hotel again but only in one of the upgraded rooms and we agreed that if we were traveling with children we would probably stay at a hotel off of Jekyll Island due to the lack to services on island.

We had a super time. People were incredibly nice and we will definitely be back. Jekyll Island is just a relaxing location. I loved my room and bed which was so very comfy. All was perfect.

Proximity to the beach. No refrigerator in the room. The room were OK as far as sleeping. There was no refrigerator and the bathtub didn't drain very well so there was sand all over the bottom of it.

This hotel is old and in need of renovating. The rooms are small. The patio door was stiff and hard to handle. There was mold in air conditiioning and in bathroom. The air conditioning did not function correctly. The rooms are noisy. The staff was not friendly or helpful. No maid service. No room serivce in morning. Pool was dirty. Ate at restaurant once and my husband got sick. Everything closed up early. Television reception was bad.

The hotel was on the beach. Had a pool, breakfast bar, restaurant. There was an odor of chemicals, and the fire alarm went off at 4 am. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head, something to eat. This is a great place, but if you want to stay in your room, I would stay some where else. I will stay there again, my family and I don't stay in the room much at all.

The people at the check in were very friendly. Amenities were rarely available. The dining area was always closed, the iki bar and lounge bars were never open when we were there. The ice machines were always empty. No one could find a WiFi connection. The first room smelled horrid, the second was better. The carpets smelled bad throughout the hotel. We left early, our vacation was horrible and we just wanted to go home.

I liked to hear the birds singing from the palm trees. The hole in the ceiling above the table in the restaurant. The hotel was better than we expected for a 3 night stay. The maids did an excellent job cleaning. It was very family oriented. We enjoyed the 24 hour free coffee and hot tea. We also enjoyed free newspapers. The cable went out the last night. And one of the beds had two metal bars sticking out that my daughter kept accidentally hitting her leg against. But for the money, it was a great stay.

"Thought we were getting a good rate at a decent hotel..wrong! No insulation . could hear the children upstairs running around all night! Don't get a downstairs room if you want to sleep! They did not have the room ready for guests, heat was on when we arrived in our room, and it was 92 degrees outside! Towels were dirty. Bugs in the room. TV and phone did not work properly. Ran out of hot water after 10 min shower! Called manager and she did not do a thing about any of our complaints! This hotel does not guarantee your satisfaction if you book it on-line! Worse hotel on the island!"

The people were friendly and very helpful. The room and bathroom was neat and clean. The breakfast buffet food was not very tasty. We had not been to Jekyll Island since our honeymoon in 1990. It was great to take our kids back to the Island. The staff was great. We had an awesome time riding bikes that we rented at the hotel. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

This is a place that I would be more than happy to stay at again. The rooms were great the service was great and the whole trip was a blast. I have a 3 yr old daughter that was amazed that they had a little pool for her. The only disappointment was that you had to drive to get to where you could get on the beach, but for the price and location it was worth the 2 mile drive to get on the beach. I would highly recommend this resort.

Very pricey resturant: Breakfast did not have a menu and my children could not eat unless paid full fair when all they ate was cereal. This was a three star hotel or under off season: There was nothing for my seven year to do, and my teenager wanted a sandwich only, not served would not return.

"Hotel was dirty and outdated. Requested fridge and micro, but these weren't brought to room until after checkin. Then we had to plug fridge in and wait for it to cool off. No hot water for over an hour. Vending machines were taking money, and staff was unapologetic. Advertised as nonsmoking resort, but people were smoking everywhere! Grounds were filthy. Limited parking in front of rooms. I cannot say enough bad things about this hotel."
