We have stayed at the Clarion before to visit family. They have done some wonderful remodeling since our last stay. Our room had recently been refreshed and was a great value for the price. The staff members were very helpful and friendly. They even helped me with my luggage (which most hotels don't do anymore). I also recommend the Clarion because it is on the south side of Springfield which has more attractions and is much safer than the north side of town.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. My window did not have the greatest view. Overall my stay was nice the desk clerks were very polite. They do need to have more refrigerators available for the rooms. Maybe a more excess able vending machine would be nice. The bathtub was kind of stained and that is something I understand is harder to deal with but high on my list of needs to be white and shiny.

This hotel was ok at best. It was not a new or shiny hotel. It seemed an older property that had been updated several times. The room across the hall from us was closed off with a big sign that said "STAY OUT< OZONE ALERT". What does this mean? I had no idea. The next morning there was a grouchy looking maintenance man carrying heavy equipment back and forth. Just what you want to see first thing, right? The staff seemed very young and not very experienced or friendly. The pool was an outdoor pool, which was a dissapointment. It was very, very cold and an outdoor pool did our young one no good. The beds were ok, not as bad as my grandmother's house, but not as nice as my bed back home. The pillows and linens were not great. But, if you're looking for an inexpensive hotel for a one night stay, this may be your best bet. We were in town for everal days, and really wanted something newer and nicer. We left and went to another hotel. And, like I read in another review, there is no elevator. If you are handicapped or elderly, ask for a first floor room or find a nicer place.

Quiet. Access. The Clarion is a typical older motel that is priced the same as similar newer accommodations the area. We would have stayed at the newer motels had we known.

The Clarion is a very nice, clean hotel. The newly remodeled rooms are excellent to stay in. The breakfast that came with the room is superb & a lot to choose from. The staff was ALL very friendly & helpful from the front desk to housekeeping. The banquet staff did an excellent job with our meeting room & Miss X took good care of our business arrangments for the rooms & meeting space. We will definately use this facility for our company business again. Thank You,

There is no elevator and stairs are in an enclosed alcove - not safe for women alone. The Clarion was just OK. It's old and although there have been some attempts to modernize, it still seems outdated. The mattresses, pillows and bed linens were above average and very comfortable. The staff was friendly but seemed confused on some policy.

Came on business. Staff was great. Plenty of meeting space and the food was excellent. The rooms were newly remodeled and looked excellent. The beds were comfortable and the beeding was brand new. Stayed their before and they have redone landscapping. The have a great sports bar as well.

This is a Multi-floor Hotel WITHOUT an ELEVATOR in Springfield, Mo! We were put on the 2nd floor when we checked in on 7/28. No bellhop was available. My husband fell trying to carry luggage to 2nd floor and was in the hospital from 7/30 - 8/2/07 as the result. The phone didn't work. We had to go to the lobby to get TP and Kleenex. The bathroom was extremely worn with tiles patched and cracked, general appearance was unclean. Wallpaper was peeling from the walls of the bedroom not to mention the dirt and mold on the ceiling. HOW DID THIS EVER GET A 4-STAR Rating? PLEASE CHANGE this to 2-Star (for the adventurous) and save others from making the same mistake - believing the 4-Star lie. I would discourage anyone from setting foot in the door of this hotel.

Location. It was just a very dumpy place. Very run down. I was very displeased with the Clarion Hotel. It was just a run down place and I didn't feel safe. The location was great but that's about it.

My family and I stay at this hotel each year to attend a conference. We enjoy this hotel because of its location- lots of shopping and things to do! They have done some updating since we were here last. The room we stayed in looked brand new! The bed was better than the one we have at home. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. My kids love the breafast buffet!

I know where it's located. See below. I have stayed at this hotel often only do to convenience and have never been greeted, I might as well wait on myself with the lack of enthusiasm they have let alone most of the employees clothes look like just rolled out of bed! My advice to anyone behind that check in counter customer service is key.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Clarion and we stayed in one of their suites on our wedding night. We couldn't have asked for anything more from them. The staff was all wonderful! Our room was so nice and the bed was very comfortable. The food at our reception was amazing and they did a great job decorating the room for us. I would recommend the Clarion to anyone who is planning on staying in Springfield or for anyone who needs a place to hold an event.

I loved the down blankets. The bed was a little firmer than I like but not bad. This was a very nice stay and they even got me on a ground level floor with a room upgrade at no cost.

"cob webs hanging from the ceiling. Food by the bed left from others. Walls very thin, lag bolts holding the plastic protectors for the corners (very dangerous) housekeepers were very disrepectful in hallways. Playing frisbee with the ice bucket lid in hallway. Doors to the room had about a 2"" gap. Every chair in the room was down right nasty!!!"
