No continental breakfast. Great rooms and pool, but bring your own food! There is no free continental breakfast at this hotel like there is at so many others.

This remodeled old Holiday Inn is definitely not a 3 star - 2 at the most.? We arrived, got our ground floor out side room.? The dead bolt did not work.? Sorry but I wanted a different room.? So they first gave us the room next door but did not have a king bed, so we move again to another room.? Better but the rusted through door jam in the bathroom, dirty corners of the room that have not seen a vacuum in years, was not exactly the best.? The bath room needs new paper that is not dingy with age and the room just needs cleaned.?? Staff was excellent but the facility is not 3 star.?

The hotel was in the process of remodeling but they did not start work until after 9 am each day so it did not disturb our sleep. We had the contintental breakfast one morning. It was ok for a contintental breakfast but we wanted more so we chose to go else where. The pool area was great. There are small cabanas, some with ceiling fans, the help you stay out of the intense sun. They even provided air mattresses and beach balls. There was a hot tub which helped us relax before going to bed at night. The beds were great. They have a pillow top mattress. My husband has a herniated disk in his back and said that he got up each morning without back pain.

Some girlfriends and I planned a weekend up in Scottsdale and I booked it with Hotel Scottsdale. Originally I was a little skeptical because the rooms were so cheap but it had been recommended by a friend saying they'd gone under a HUGE renovation, so I figured I'd check it out. The hotel went above and beyond my expectations! The rooms were gorgeous, the staff was polite and helpful, and best of all, it's right in the heart of downtown Scottsdale. I'm not usually the type of person to take time to write reviews but The Hotel Scottsdale deserves it! Definitely well worth the money!

We requested early check-in and didn't get our room until after 3:00 (we arrived at 10:00 am) - luckily we had friends there and were able to keep our luggage there. Each time I came back the same girl with a very bad attitude asked me my name and acted like she had no idea what I was asking about (even though I had asked her each hour for almost four hours). I was told each time that it would be ready in an hour, which it was not. There was a shift change, and the woman i spoke to after the shift change was pleasant and got us checked right into our room. We called to request a shuttle to the airport, and was told it would be no problem and that I should call back ten minutes before we need to leave. I called 20 minutes in advance just incase, we needed to leave at 11:00am, so I called at 10:40 and we were still waiting for the shuttle at 11:30. So if you need to make your flight... don't count on them to take you on time. When I asked for an update on the shuttle I got more attitude from a completely different employee who was quickly backed up by a fellow employee with even more attitude... however the second gentleman didn't even look up at me. I was really dissappointed, however the pool area was really nice, so it helped to make up for the bad service. We also noticed that our room had a STRONG air fragrance, like they were trying to make it smell clean. It took a couple of hours with the door open to get rid of it. The carpets were dirty as another reviewer mentioned.

Services was great and the housekeeper was encouraging and helpful. Shrimps pasta was awesome. Everything was great. Location was perfect to shop and dine. Information in the room and the front desk was helpful.

What a gem! Beautiful rooms, yet small. New carpets, extremly comfy beds, crisp linens, room service and a beautiful pool setting with cabanas. The hotel restaurant, CEZAR'S has yummy food and a great atmosphere. Who would have thought that I would bump into the world famous George Benson at the bar!

Location is all this place has going for it. They have given a face lift to a tired old motel, which apparent when you "drive" up to your room, just like at a motor lodge, and open the door to tired old furniture. The breakfast is just a step above a continental breakfast. It was not well maintained. The coffee was too weak to drink, and when we asked for fresh, well it just never happened! The staff was not helpful at all. This is not a 3 star property! Unless you want a motel - keep looking!!!

Have sayed here in the past & had better service, food available, complimentary cocktail hour....that is all gone! When booking. appeared to be good value for ammentities advertised but not true! Terrible service from check in to check out. Room carpeting dirty and stained. We took pictures.Pamphlets in room say food in room service available from 10 A.M. to 11 P.M. but when requested told it was not available until after 5 PM.No poolside food/drink service except 1 day when someone made 1 round to get cocktail orders.Business Center consists of 2 computer terminals.Important Fax desk was alerted was coming mysteriously disappeared, no explanation or apologies given.2 thefts from our room - a ring & expensive Nike pants - when asked to see or talk to manager told he wasn't there, would see or call next day...repeatedly did not happen. We were repeatedly told the same story about who would call & when but no follow through. The worst part is there was no indication the staff even cared or wanted to try resolving problems. Very apathetic.Noisy Rooms. Can hear people walking on upstairs balconies & TV's & people snoring in next room.Vending machines around property rarely stocked.Lastly - when asked for a hotel guest survey from, they said they did not have one! Their complimentary breakfast buffet is adequate & good for kids but that is the only highlight. This Hotel does not reflect the way they advertise them selves! I would never choose to stay here again - More like a Motel 6.

Small fridge and microwave in room. Fan of air conditioner didn't work, so was very unpleasant in room at 98 degrees outside. Older motel under new management which has a very pleasant staff, a nice pool and convenient Scottsdale location with easy parking. Fan of air conditioner didn't work, so was uncomfortable sleeping. Furniture far too large for the room. Had fridge and microwave which were great. Had very good salad and pizza as take out from the bar, but the breakfast buffet was very poor and overpriced.

The grounds were very attractive and well-maintained. There was no mini-bar in the room.

The lobby and pool area were attractive. 2 double beds in a tiny room with broken and outdated fixtures. The hotel is supposed to be 3 stars but it had two double beds with over sized furniture that made it difficult to even walk around the room. The shower had a jerry rigged faucet handle that didn't work well. The fan on the heater/AC rattled and the filter was broken and hanging outside the unit. Everything looked like a rundown Motel 6.

It was close to things we wanted to see. Comfortable. No room service the first night.
