Was in town for a wedding in Iowa City during the weekend. Most rooms were booked in Iowa City due to a commencement in mid-May so I choose this hotel. Less than 10 minute drive from the CID airport. About a half hour drive to Iowa City.Many of the Cedar Rapids attractions were still in repair after the floods from 2008. Cedar Rapids Museum of Art only had two rooms opened but there will be more exhibits within the next few months. Pleasant personnel, [...], directed me to a Marion Arts Festival. Very nice festival. The National Czech and Slovak Museum was closed.

Clean and quite. Very nice place, clean and the staff was great. Had to wait for room to be done but went to the sports bar and they gave us free drinks till our room was done. Excellent.

My stay at the Clarion was quite nice. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean. The lobby was full of light and color. The mattress was superb! The location was great for eating down town. I have no complaints.

2nd time here with problems.changed to clarion,no longer offers free calls to choice customers, no longer cives breakfast on wknds. will not book here again!

Good location and nice pool. Elevator did not work. Breakfast did not start until 7:00. The hotel was nestled among fast food restaurants that made it nice if you were traveling with children. It was located not far from the highway. The pool area was okay.

The lighting was very poor in the room. Some of the lights did not work. I checked the lightbulb to find the inside of the lamp shade had burn marks. The carpets were dirty and that made me question the cleanliness of the room in general. The beds are full size, not queens. The bedding was terrible. I would not choose this hotel again. I could not wait to pack up and get out. I wished I hadn't booked for three nights. If I would have had time, I would have moved in the middle of my stay. On a side note, the location of the workout facility and vending were scary. A dark, cement corridor. The pool was dirty. I did not allow my daughter (15) to visit that area by herself or to swim. Who would want to work out in that area? It is a very depressing space.

This is my first experience at a Clarion Hotel. There are many hotels in the same area as well as fast food restaurants. It is located very close to major and minor highways so it is exceptionally well located.Shopping is 5-10 miles away depending on what you want. I enjoyed the entire stay here. Very good value for the price paid. I am returning later this month

The staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms were immaculate. Guests were smoking cigarettes right outside the front door; very annoying. Clean, nicely decorated hotel. Great staff that was courteous and helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean. The beds are great. Very firm with nice soft pillows. There were six pillows on our king size bed so lots of comfort there! There was a big party in the hotel that night but the staff was very good at keeping the loud, partying guests quiet and in their rooms. No problem with sleeping. I really appreciated their efforts to keep those guests quiet. (And the employees were not mean about it, very diplomatic and the guests were not angry.) This is the third time we've stayed there and always pleased with our experience with these folks.

This is one of the best weekends we've had.Clean,Comfortable,Great Staff.We were in town for a couple of ball games & plan on doing this again.The price is definitly right.The fellow who wrote he would rather stay in his car was either in his car or at another hotel

The Clarion was a great place to stay if you are wanting to go see the Timberwolves or the Viking. The bar and the Breakfast buffet were both very nice.

Convenient to meetings. Bed was uncomfortable, and room was worn down and dirty. If using the conference rooms for meetings and convenience is a key, then stay here. If you are looking for a nice, clean hotel with amenities try and look else where. I am sure for the money you can find a better place to stay in Cedar Rapids!

The staff were all very friendly. The lobby area was inviting and clean. The pool area was nice, but the entrance to the pool was old, paint was peeling. Rooms were nice, but smoking and non smoking rooms were on same floor, so hallways smelled of smoke. Otherwise, I would stay there again.

No fridge, no DVD hookups, no in hotel movies. At the check-in, I had to ask where the elevators were. My room had no fridge, no in-hotel movies, no DVD hookups and only Ethernet Wired Internet. I would not recommend this hotel.

Front desk attendants lacked in customer-friendly tact. Housekeeping personnel excelled in hotel needs and facility answers. Room air vents sorely needed dusting and most hallway wall decor needed cleaning. Hallway could use air filteration to clean stagnant air.

The Clarion Hotel was perfect for our needs. We had many planned activities and were constantly on the go. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the front desk personnel and the housekeeping staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. My husband spent time in the swimming pool and sauna and enjoyed it immensely. We were attending a reunion at the hotel and everything was very convenient. We would certainly stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

Mold in room, smelled bad entire time I was there. Room not cleaned about 3 out of 6 days. When it was cleaned, dirty glasses left, no clean one's put in room, coffee cups not changed. Ran out of toilet paper, called front desk over and over, after a couple hours, when out door to go to desk and found 2 rolls of paper left on floor at the next room. Full breakfast buffett style, good food, but get there early! Not much left closer to closing time. Only served M-F. The staff at the hotel were for the most part friendly, there were enough towels, and the hotel it conviently located, and quiet.

The person that checked us in was friendly. The rooms were awful and beds uncomfortable. Do not stay here. Uncomfortable beds, outdated rooms, dirty rooms.
