Comfortable beds, nice spacious rooms. The rooms need better lighting. The rooms are very comfortable with digital temp control. I also like the exercise room.

The Good Buy rating is what enticed us to stay here for our week in the bay area. The location is good, close to highways and easy to find. The hotel itself is in a very industrial area with many vacant buildings surrounding it. The breakfast was mediocre at best. Runny eggs, undercooked sausage. Coffee is served in paper cups. The "laundry" was a washer and dryer outside (not in a room) surrounded by housekeeping carts. Since the weather was rainy and cold, there were no chairs to sit on and a big warning sign about stolen property, we felt this "service" was inadequate. Housekeeping was interesting to say the least. On the days that a gratuity was left on the bed, there were large soft towels and replenishment of soaps and coffee. However, the day that I forgot to leave something, no soap, no coffee, small hard towels. If you're not going to be in your room for long periods of time, the hotel is adequate. If you book online, the staff makes a point of telling you that "since you booked with an online booking service", you will get nothing special (I asked for a first floor room, got upstairs (no elevator) with only half a window because it was behind a pillar). I asked that they print an additional receipt and was told that my online service would provide that for me. Overall, I would look elsewhere and spend the few extra dollars.

US Airways put me in this hotel when they cancelled my flights. US Airways paid for the hotel, but when I checked in the clerk said I needed a credit card. The clerk told me that the card was only if I smoked in the room. She said that if I didn't smoke in the room then my card wouldn't be charged. Since I didn't plan to smoke in the room I didn't have a problem with it. When I finally got home I checked my credit card balance and the hotel had charged me * when I checked in. When I called the hotel about this I was told that this is a non-smoking hotel that requires a * deposit from everybody whether you smoke or not. A manager was supposed to call me back, but they never did. The money is supposed to be returned to me in 10 business days. For 2 weeks they?ll have money that they never should have taken. Whatever rate you're quoted remember to add * on top of it. The hotel is clean, but with the service I received and the hidden fees I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. It's not worth * per night.

It was clean and the free full breakfast was great. Nothing. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The free full breakfast was great. The hotel bar was nice too. I did not feel unsafe. Our room faced the inner courtyard and swimming pool. Was able to get a great nights sleep.

front desk check in was 30 seconds with all information covered. room was spotless(my wife is a stickler on cleanliness). what a very enjoyable experience. we have stayed at other hotels in san jose that cost more but this hotel is far superior in all aspects. all rooms face out so if you are a smoker...open your door and walk out. super place to stay while in san jose. shuttle to the airport was prompt(4;30 am)and professional.

Clean and decent - good value for the price - rooms were somewhat dated but quite serviceable. Full buffet breakfast was really handy for our early flight.

Convenient to airport, free airport shuttle, attractive spaces. Very friendly & attentive staff, very attractive interior spaces and courtyard/pool area, bustling on-site restaurant, 10 minutes from airport on free shuttle service which operates every 30 minutes. Comfortable bed/pillows/room. We were totally satisfied.

I really enjoy staying at this hotel. It is nice, clean, beautiful and has the best restaurant attached to the property. The Island Grill is really cozy and you always feel welcome. The best part is that the hot buffet is included in the price. Last but not least, I love the pool and spa. The pool is nicely heated and you can watch the stars at night from either the pool or spa. I will no longer stay at another hotel while in San Jose. This is the place for me.

Loud parties almost every night(until 3am one night). Dirty rooms. No clean sheets in 6 nights. Hair in food 3 out of 6 meals. No sleep for a week. Great pillows, nice pool & nice staff. This hotel is overrated at 3 stars.

I enjoyed the attractivness of the lobby area, friendly staff, and complimentary hot breakfast. Inside rooms are always more attractive to single women traveling than outside rooms. Overall, the hotel was a great choice. The entrance and lobby area are extremely beautiful. The staff members were knowledgeable and very friendly. The location is a bit odd. For a female traveling alone, the location is not appetizing.

overall was a good experience..... bed was comfortable.....complimentary buffet breakfast was wonderful....location was very convenient.....lounge made good margaritas and the burger was great.....only annoying thing was the desk personnel misinformed us about the hours of operation of the lounge and restaurant otherwise they were helpful.

This was perhaps one of the cleanest, best maintained rooms I have encountered in my business travels. While this property has some age on it, the parts I encountered were highly maintained and very clean. Property is on the edge of a business park and a bit isolated from outside food choices but close to light rail and highways. Varied full breakfast choices came with room. I felt very good value for the price and will stay again.

It had a good breakfast buffet. Furniture and beds were worn out in need of replacement. Conveniently located to airport but in a not so desirable part of town. On the outside it looks good; the inside is a different story. The room was nothing more than four thin walls, the furnishings and beds were old with springs read to penetrate through the material. The business center was a small room with two old computers that did not work. The bright spot was the breakfast buffet which was very good with lots of variety to choose from.

All the staff was very helpful, the room was clean, location is great (close to airport). Lovely pool area. Great breakfast each morning, but would have liked to see a little more variety offered. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice place to spend a couple of days. The putting green (golf) was a plus. The hot breakfast buffet was the best feature of all. Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was very fresh and enjoyable. The hotel is now total non-smoking . The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff were pleasant, housekeeping was great. TV wasn't much to shout about, but we weren't there long enough for that to make a difference. Didn't bring a computer so can't tell you about the internet access.

Very clean, nice staff and enjoyed our stay. Only complaint of mine would be, the hot breakfast was good, but they could of changed it up a little. When you stay there for a week, having the same thing for breakfast is not so good.

Considering what hotels cost in the Bay Area, this was a welcome find. The morning breakfast was great. Hot and cold choices served in a resturant atmosphere. Beds could be updated, but the room was clean. Nice pool. Staff was friendly. It is not a resort or romantic get away location, but it is functional and a good value when you add in the free breakfast for the entire family.

"This Clarion hotel in San Jose is quite a spiffy hotel and my wife and I wouldn't mind staying here again either and we'd recommend this Clarion hotel to anybody, whether it's business or pleasure along with the fact that it's conveniently located in San Jose and provides free shuttle service to and from the San Jose Int'l Airport, which is one of the things I like best about this hotel. The only thing that needs improvement is their complimentary breakfast."
