The Claerwen Retreat is an Apollo Bay hotel that overlooks the Great Ocean Road. It is the highest point in the area and was rated 3-½ stars. The hotel was built over an old aboriginal site. Near the hotel, there are buses that go to Geelong and Warrnambool that stop at the Visitor Information Centre on the Great Ocean Road.
