I had easy access to the CTA Elevated Train. When I asked for a room away from the EL side, they accommodated me. Breakfast was simple but with many choices. Lounge attractive and clean. Room attractive and very clean. Decent towels, quality toiletries. Uses Window air conditioners. Easy to use but blocked the street view. Located in a great neighborhood. I felt safe and enjoyed the many shops.

A classic old hotel that appeared to be new. Well located near an active restaurant district and Wrigley Field, this hotel is an old style elegant hotel with the feel of being new. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was well furnished, although small, but had one of the most comfortable beds I slept in a hotel in many years.

Fantastic location; right next to CTA train station. Noise was not a problem in the room that I had. Room itself is quite small, but has all the basics...and the bathroom was relatively large. Free wireless a plus. Lots of cheap eats close by, even a 24 hour Starbucks.

Fantastic place to stay if you are looking to stay near Boys Town. Only one block away from the start of the bars on Halsted. The rooms are on the smaller side but you are in an older hotel in Chicago. I say the rooms are great but I only look at it based on sleeping and not really spending any time in them. Also, the hotel is literally located right next to the Belmount stop on the red line. So if you do not like trains or think that you can not sleep with them stopping and going all night, then I suggest you seek another place. The staff is great and very pleasent. One thing that I found personally cool, the hotel participated in Earth Hour. If you don't know what it is, just google it. But they had turned off the lights in the lobby, had a guitarist, some snacks and also wine for you to drink. Was a really nice of them to offer. Every time I come into chicago and stay, this is the hotel that I have stayed at. Worth the money for the rooms and location.

The City Suites was a beautiful historic hotel with friendly service staff, but the room was quite small with no view and there was excessive noise at all hours. Location near Wrigley field and other attractions was great. Just be sure to ask for a quiet room away from the elevators and main halls where rowdy Cubs fans congregate.

Excellent use of room space, clean room, friendly staff. Parking was offside. The area is fine, just a pain to self park away from the hotel. This hotel is a pleasant surprise. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is a very nice, smallish hotel. I traveled with adult daughters and small grandchildren. The room had two full beds and a pull out couch. We were very comfortable and had a great time.

We decided to change hotels once we realized we were too far out of downtown to easily get where we wanted to be so we called around and chose to stay here. We booked the room before 11 via phone and showed up within an our for check-in. Although the only room available at that time was near the train, they offered to hold our bags and put us in a different room later in the day; we left our bags and headed out . Upon returning after a long and busy day my boyfriend went to sleep and I wanted to take a walk. I was directed to several places along the walk to Wrigley Field through Wrigleyville and was emersed in the nightlife. We were just on the edge of Lakeview and Wrigleyville and what a great place to be. I walked alone and never thought twice about it. The gentleman at the hotel desk gave me great recommnedations, but I was too tired to do many of them, so i ate and returned to the room. Our suite had a living room area and a nice sized bedroom; both rooms had ceiling fans and a/c. The room was very quite despite being near the train after all, and the bathroom was renovated and had a cool glass shower window. The showerr amenities were the best I have ever had and although I am not a collector of hotel amenities, I made and exception for these. We were so comfortable and the staff was so wonderful we felt like they knew us by name in only two days. i highly recommend this hotel due to it's wonderful staff, charming atmosphere and excellent location. it's still a few miles from downtown but well worth it!

the room i stayed in was a beautiful clean suite with 2 queen beds & and a convertible couch in the living rooom area. the mattresses were comfortable, had fluffy comforters & mink feeling black blankets. each room had a nice size flat panel television with multiple cable channels. the bathroom was roomy & had large thick soft white towels. wall mounted high quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash & body lotion dispensers added a luxurious touch. each room also had an iron, blow dryer and wet bar. although the hotel was near the train, and on a busy street, our room faced the back and was extremely quiet. the window view was of a brick wall, but who cares? every morning breakfast included donuts, bagels, boiled eggs etc. coffee. tea and hot chocolate were supplied 24 hours a days, and every evening cookies were also offered. the staff were very friendly and professional. the maids provided impeccable service, and placed a card every morning with the daily weather forecast. the only thing lacking was enough storage & dresser space, especially since the suite comfortably sleeps 4 people. the lobby was nicely furnished, but i did not like the strong smell of incense that permeated everything; and since the entire hotel was a smoke free zone, i felt that it was not necessary. i was pleasantly suprised by my stay at this hotel, and definitely would stay there again

Location. The train running all night. We absolutely loved our stay that this hotel. The location was key for us. I won't recommend it to our elderly grandparents though, the train ran all night long.

Hotel staff was extremely professional, friendly and personable. Russell, Manager of the Hotel and Eric, front desk clerk, went out of their way to make my stay at this hotel enjoyable and memorable. I found the room to be clean, comfortable and roomy. Housekeeping staff also wonderful! Location of this hotel is right off of the RED line El stop and also just several blocks away from Lake Michigan! Tons of Restaurants are also located in this Lakeview/Wrigleyville/Lincoln Park location. The Hotel is located literally where all 3 neighborhoods come together. I stayed for one week total. I found this Hotel to be extremely safe. I would reccomend this Hotel to my family and friends. Thank you Russell and Eric for making my 35th Birthday memorable and worry free! I will definitely not forget your kindness! I will see you on my next trip back to Chicago!

Beautiful hotel, pleasant staff, very clean room, ultra comfortable bed and linens. We had a little bit of a security incident one night when returned to the hotel right after a drunken guest had entered. He had just missed knocking my daughter over with his cab door in the street. We tried to avoid him at the entrance as he fumbled to get his key to work, only to find him a few minutes later trying to get his key card to work on the door to our room! We went to the desk and asked for help from the desk clerk, he went upstairs and could not find the inebriated gentleman. It would have been nice if he could have walked us back up to the room to make sure the gent had not come back. Only problem we had during 5 day stay in Chicago. We loved this hotel, it has a great location for us, my daughter within a couple blocks.

Beautiful, classic city hotel. Nothing. We were thrilled with our stay here: 4 adults and 2 children. The rooms were beautiful, service excellent, prices very reasonable, only a few steps away from our train stop. If you wanted to hear the train at night (which some of us like), you could crack your windows. If you didn't and kept the window shut, it was quiet.

A few issues with the hotel, when we checked in the guy behind the desk acted as though we were a bother to him. Wifi was horrible when it worked which was seldom. Safety is always an issue now, our room key cards stopped working on the first day so on our way back down to the lobby we mentioned this to the housekeeper who used her card to give us access to our rooms the problem with that was she had never seen us before, we could have been anybody.

Highly recommend this place. The staff makes you feel at home and are so nice. The little things like the wonderful bath gel and the robes they offer not to mention the deep bath tub make this place so great. A+.

"Great location (2 steps from the El, Halstead and near Lincoln Park), room and staff. Parking was $22/day, the room was clean and quiet - even though on the second floor front near the El. Try Jack?s restaurant, Clarks and the Sweedish one next door, skip Chen?s on Clark street. For a last minute reservation, it was priced appropriately."

City Suites Chicago is a friendly, urban hotel with stately charm. It has quiet rooms, despite being next to a commuter train station. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, who would like a central location from which to explore Chicago. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfasts are sumptuous.

Location, excellent staff, good continental breakfast. Alittle bit noisy. Great location. Close to all public transportation. Friendly, dedicated staff. Clean.

"This hotel must be a well kept secret. Access to the ""El"" maybe 30 yards away as well as to Wrigley Field and a great neighborhood within walking distance make it a great place to stay. We found the staff to be most helpful and the accomodations while small, quite adequate and clean. We'll stay there again."

We've stayed here twice, mostly because of the location. It's right near an el station - super convenient to reach anywhere you're going quickly. There are rockin' gift shops on both sides, several excellent breakfast spots, both Indian and Thai food within a block, and a liquor and drug store just down the street. The staff is pleasant and accommodating, coffee and tea are available 24/7 and the selection of classic vocal music in the lobby is grand! Decent continental breakfast as well.
