How can a hotel rent rooms in winter when the building does not have a heating system? You are provided a small space heater in the room. But I was not comfortable leaving it on all night for the fire risk. And if you are able to get the room warm, get ready to get the blast of cold when you get into the hallway. And getting hot water in the sink, good luck. It does not happen. Maybe it's ok in the summer, but as a principle for a business relationship and as moral human beings, they should let you know there is no heat. It is unfortunate because everything else was good.

I booked a double room on line but it was honestly the smallest hotel room i've ever seen! I was able to upgrade to a studio room which was much better, very clean and tidy and comfortable. Service was great. Would stay there again :-)

Really helpful front desk which made us feel welcome without being subservient. Very compact rooms, but served their purpose and fair value for location.

What a terrible hotel. Centrally located and convenient if you like a hotel that reminds you of a cross between a shoebox and a hospital. Interrogated about my travel by the front desk - really not a friendly hotel at all. Never again. There are other hotels in the city that are brand new and offering exceptional facilities for the same price, so either lift your game or cut your prices by half.

Very good, rooms are very small but you get what you pay for. If you are looking just for a bed it is fine. Very handy to the city and waterfront. Only thing is car parking it can be very expensive.

The service and friendliness we experienced from the receptionists was outstanding. We were very new to both Auckland and New Zealand and needed constant advice and direction which they gave with a smile and well beyond the call of duty. Thank you City Central for making our first day in New Zealand so great.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions now. Very handy to everthing. Basic room but when you only need a bed to sleep in this is fine.

Convenient central location and friendly helpful staff. The (double) room was rather small and in a little need of updating but clean and adequate. The breakfast was exceptional - lots of food options, well cooked and very well priced.

The location was great,5 min. walk to SkyTower and 20 min. walk to Harbour area. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. My room was very clean but along the street a little noisy. Enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel

Location Excellent-walked to The Civic & Casino. Nearest parking was through nearby hotel, a fact not made clear by receptionist. For non-Aucklanders, as most people who stay here would be, finding the parking place at 5.30pm a challenge. Room VERY small and basic but for a short period, and just needing a bed, not a problem. Lots of places to eat nearby. We would certainly stay here again.

Location is the selling point - very central. Staff very pleasant. Has a (pay) laundry - useful - but watch the opening times. My room was over a main street and was fairly noisy from the traffic. Much cheaper than the big hotels. Well known by the local bus and tourist drivers - easy to find. Short (uphill) walk from airport bus stop.
