This hotel is very,very good. Excellent location,excellent rooms,excellent and friendly staff.The only minus no sauna or pool but a good gym and the rooms have baths with plenty of hot water to relax after a hard days touring. We certainly recommend this hotel as the place to stay in Xian.

The location of the hotel was perfect - just a five minute walk from the airport bus dropoff, and a ten minute walk to the center of the city, the Bell and Drum Towers, and plenty of shopping and eating. The staff was very helpful and friendly, although no one of them spoke perfect English; when I asked questions, a group of three of the front desk women would chatter amongst themselves for a minute before coming to a consensus answer. Be careful if you try to do laundry here - the dryer doesn't work well with full loads. We didn't notice this until we were supposed to be checking out and our clothes were still wet. The room was great - there was a pullout couch and a separate bedroom, as well as a kitchenette where we were able to refrigerate our water. Our room had a recurring bad smell, but after a few minutes with the air on it would go away. My favorite thing about the hotel happened on the last day. Taxi drivers don't like to pick up tourists unless the fair is good - they all want to take you to the Terracotta Army. We were turned down by a cab sitting outside the hotel, and the doorman saw what was happening. He came out, had a few angry words with the driver, and we were able to get a short ride to the wall. Great!

Great location and nice big rooms. Given the price range, the breakfast was above average. We did organise a driver through the hotel though and had some issues with te driver wanting to push their own agenda....this may or may not be the hotels fault. Other than this, we would happily recommend Citadines Xian.
