By carIf you are planning to drive your car, the most convenient way from Buenos Aires is to drive along a highway to Cañuelas (via Ezeiza) to join National Route N 3 which runs north-south along Patagonia and is totally paved up to the Straits of Magellan. If you plan to cross the Straits of Magellan through its wider part you can get aboard the Austral Broom ferryboat in the city of Punta Arenas to sail for about 2 hours and 30 minutes and get to Puerto Porvenir, on the Chilean side of Tierra del Fuego. There starts Secondary Road Y-71 (dirt road) which crosses the island west-east for about 150 km to get to the Chilean Argentine boundary station Paso Fronterizo San Sebastián.From San Sebastian to Ushuaia you have 290 kilometers by Ruta Nacional N 3By airplaneMost flights come from Buenos Aires and a few ones from Santiago de Chile with a stop in Punta Arenas. The airlines are Aerolíneas Argentinas, LADE and LAN Chile, all year long with fluctuating frequencies.International Airport Malvinas Argentina is the Airport from Ushuaia. It is beside the city and it is very simple and inexpensive to get downtown by taxi or remise. There are no regular bus services. It is 6 km from Cilene del Faro. 15 minutes by car (taxi or remis) aprox
