Fantastic new rooms. Super king size beds , LCD TV and we had dvd player . Very clean and breakfast was unbeatable.

Poor relation trying to match its rich cousins. Must try harder; has potentialVery difficult to find despite several phone calls to the hotel. Nearly cried when arrived to a peeling paint facade and basic entrance and small lobby and was going to cancel the next night's reservation. But, then we saw the room. It was new, refurbished, peaceful; fridge, safe but no phone - probably forgot to put it back. Lovely. If the rest of the refurb is like this it will be super when finished. Staff could not have been nicer. Interesting chats with an Actor who was playing the part of bar manager (wry smile) who was so personable I wanted to bring him home. The food was excellent - we had a bar meal but it could have been a gastropub meal it was so good. And having breakfast served to you instead of a buffet was so special. Liked it all enough to tip three members of the staff there including the receptionist who got the rough end of my tongue when I arrived but remained polite throughout. Well done, young lady.

For B&B works well at the reduced price able to book through laterooms. Anymore would have been too much! Eating dinner in the dining room was expensive and it had too pretentious a menu. Portions were very small for the prices charged and the attention of staff overbearing.

Our Honeymoon.we booked for one night,but we stayed for 3 as it was quite and nothing to much trouble 4 the staff who were all helpfull and always had smiles on there faces.many thanks to all who made our stay the best we could have asked for mr mrs kelly.

Great Customer Service, Decor and Value for MoneyWonderfully refurbished hotel, with a flat screen lcd tv, big comfy double bed, stylish bathroom and decor and lots of storage. There is free internet access in the lobby. The breakfasts (continental and cooked) are included and served in the very plush dining suite. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rate was very reasonable. I booked on the non-cancellation rate and got the room for £60 a night. I stayed two nights so the break only cost me £120 in accomodation! There are some chain hotels in the area, that are just the same price but dont include the high level of decoration and breakfast that this hotel includes. A real gem.

Dribbling shower (the bathroom not the staff !)The hotel's website potrays a quality hotel with fine rooms and food, but the reality is a basic and characterless hotel with a few redeeming features, situated on an unattractive, busy road. LateRooms offered a Superior Double with breakfast for £60 at a claimed huge saving of £90 but looking on the hotel's own website tonight the room is currently available for £65 - cheaper than a Travel Inn when you take breakfast into account. Given that the place has had a makeover and offers king-size beds and air-conditioning then admittedly that looked a good deal.However the hotel is totally without character and is purely functional and a drab beige and brown throughout. The room was on the first floor overlooking an ugly flat roof covered in building debris. The king-size bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning would be a boon in hot weather. There was a small window and the room was dark and gloomy, completely unlike the website photo. And then came the worst feature - the water pressure is so low on the first floor that the shower barely dribbled. I did complain and was offered a room on the ground floor. It was obvious that the receptionist knew that this was a problem.The restaurant was empty so we ate in the bar - the menu was reasonable and the food was acceptable. But again the ambience and decor were dull as ditchwater. Even the clientele on the night we were there looked to be at the seedy end of the business travellers brotherhood !Breakfast however was fine with some couples present and improved our impression of the place. I wouldn't stay again which is no reflection on the Staff who were professional and helpful.

A Great find in CheltenhamNewly refurbished room was first class, really good large comfortable bed. Evening receptionist very welcoming and gave excellent road directions- printing them out for us without being asked which was really appreciated. Breakfast was good quality but waiting staff should have re-stocked items on buffet without prompting. Would definitely stay again.

Great value for money, you would struggle to find similar accomodation at the priceRooms are spacious with good levels of equipment including air con, safe, tea & coffee, LCD TV and DVD. Quality of food is good but the restaurant and bar lack atmosphere, however the staff are polite and attentive which compensates to some extent. I would definitely stay here again.

The shower didn't work in our room - it didn't get hot at all!I'm a vegetarian and I was disappointment that the hotel didn't offer a vegetarian sausages for the full english breakfast alternative. It was still very nice though!

Definitely will re-visit!A lovely hotel, ideally situated for the Cheltenham Gold Cup! Very attentive welcoming staff, spotlessly clean hotel and excellent food. All round a very pleasant stay - we shall return.

Highly RecommendedWould recommend this hotel to any one, on arrival, first impressions were that hotel looked dated from the outside. As soon as I got through the doors I was impressed. Excellent service. Rooms fantastic, looks like hotel has had major refurbishment. Massive incredibly comfortable bed, flat screen tv. Ate in the bar, food was lovely, breakfast lovely. Would recommend to anyone.

Stayed at the hotel over the Valentines weekend and was very impressed. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated and had everything we required for our nights stay. Also, the food served in the restaurant was of a very high standard both in the evening and at breakfast. Would stay here again.

We booked a late room for Valentine's Day. We had a Superior room which lived up to it's name. We could not fault the food, three courses, each one excellent with complementary champagne.The service of ALL the staff was excellent, especially one particular member of staff who came to our aid when we couldn't get the heating to work in our room. Recently refurbished, the decor was lovely and the bed was HUGE!!The only fault, if any, was that the shower could have been hotter in the bathroom; we did report this though and was told it would be looked into. Would stay again.

The hotel was a little noisy, this was probably more to do with the other guests!Breakfast: quality was excellent.The room itself was outstanding.

I was aware before i arrived at the hotel that renovation work was been carried out. On arrival i was informed that i would be staying in the Orchard suite, what a room, very modern fantastic value for money, 2 plasma TVs, sitting area, dinning area and a seperate bedroom with the most comftable bed i have ever laid on. The food was very poor, i along with a coleague sent our food back as it was stone cold. On checking out it took about 10 ins to find someone and then the sytem crashed. A final note, when the renovation work is completed, this hotel will be a fantastic stay.

Still a lot of work going on and new carpets being laid so smell of paint and solvent in certain areas. Good free parking, room was good standard with plasma TV and DVD, good comfortable bed, small fridge was a nice touch. Fast free WiFi is a bonus. On the minus side poor pressure in shower and no trouser press. Will probably stay again.
