My stay at Cheltenham Guest HouseThe double room I stayed in would be very cramped for two. I also thought it was bizarre having to come out of the bathroom to wash your hands in the basin in the bedroom after using the loo, or having to wash your hands in the shower. ( No basin in the bathroom). But, more significantly, I thought the attitude of the staff was pretty miserable and unfriendly. Even the written communications by email before my stay were curt. I wouldn't stay there again.

This is a lovely place to stay, received a warm welcome, Room was first class, very comfortable and the food was delicious

I wouldn't have made an issue of it - but since you ask me, I think it was a tad ungracious of the owners not to offer a smidgen of heating on what are the already chilly nights of mid- October. I have no criticism of their establishment other than this; but I would not stay there again during the Festival unless this was rectified.

Booked into the Egyptian room with my two sons to attend the literature festival and found it ideal. Room big enough for three, and well equipped. Breakfast good quality although full english breakfast was not large portions. Hotel in a quiet suburban street with plenty of on-street parking and a 10 minute stroll nto the town centre. I would recommend the place and will stay there again next year!

Just what I needed - pleasant guest house, plenty of on-street parking when the driveway was full, easy walk into the town centre.

I booked the single occupancy with shared bathroom. It was functional for my needs but wouldn't want to stay there more than one night! A friendlier greeting would have been welcomed on arrival - wasn't sure initially if she was the owner.Would stay again but would pay the extra for a on suite. Breakfast was excellent though!!!

Despite an earlier arrival time agreed, the hotelier seemed to have no record of this which was unhelpful and stressful.Service with a smile would be appreciated.

The Guest House was very clean and comfortable enough for one/two nights but a little too cramped for a longer stay. The welcome we received and the service could have been a little friendlier.

Room was quite small, but very clean and comfortable, with en suite bathroom and wi-fi internet. Can't comment on the breakfast as I left too early to get any. Negatives were the extremely unfriendly landlady and the parking (I took advantage of the off road parking which proved to be a mistake, as when i attempted to leave at 6 am I found the gate locked and I had to wait until 7.30 for someone to come and let me out, making me late for work). This place would certainly suit retired people holidaying in the Cotswolds, but probably not a busy contractor needing an early start.

It was a lovely house and the breakfast was superb! The rooms were a little tired but very clean and overall very good value for money.

The hotel was affordable through 'late rooms', and was full of character with good food (I had one evening meal). I did not go for breakfast as I ate too late and too well the night before but it was described as scrumptious! Sky sports in the room, a good dedicated smoking area and lots of parking. Very accessible from the M4 east of bristol.
