The photos must have been photoshopped. The hotel is very old. The beds are lumpy, the bathrooms are tiny, the fixtures in disrepair and the place overall is a bit dingy. Staff was helpful, however, I expected a three star hotel considering the price.

Hotel is old. Enjoy the experience. Had a great stay! Will be back

The hotel was fine. The service at the front desk was pretty bad though. Well, there was a girl that was good. During the day. Then at night the guy behind the counter was not friendly or helpfull.

I work in the French Quarter and walked by the hotel yesterday. There's a sign on the door stating the hotel is closed and guests are being booked at the French Market Inn. Better call the hotel directly before booking.

we did not stay in the room, very much. The room was very clean, the bath was extra clean and the a/c was extremely cold ( we Like it that way). the room need a small table to set ice bucket on or to set at to make notes.

We had to move to another hotel--bathroom dirty, television broke, cigarette holes in sheets, closet door broke, inroom safe broke, sofa broke, plate where door lock goes into wall completely missing and hollowed out, no one in lobby & lobby unsecured after we checked in--so we found another hotel & checked out. Very Scary!!

Great town! This hotel IS close to casino and walking distance to main attractions including Bourbon Street but should have stayed up the street at one of the chains! The lid to the toilet did not stay up, the handle to the tub faucet fell off, and absolutely no counter space for toiletries. Hotel charged additional fee for "communications"? Parking ramp was right outside window of our room, noisy!!! Would definitely not recommend!

It's your basic get what you pay for hotel. I wanted cheap, French Quarter. That's what it was cheap french quarter...Everyone was friendly, but it's a weathered, semi-antiquated place, badly in need of a face lift. I wouldn't take my wife here or my family. I was traveling alone, packing my son up from his first year at Tulane and just wanted cheap. Service was fine, rooms were clean, shower head was weak.. Don't get me wrong for $30/night on weekday and $60 on weekend, it's worth it....

Hotel staff was not helpful at all. I asked for a remote that would work the first evening and never got a remote that worked. The bathroom had a 4 way switch plate and it only had a three way plate cover with one swith open. The smoke detector was in the draw of the dresser. All these problems did not get resolved during my stay and probable are still not resolved. I was told the hotel had a bar and restaurant and it did not. Do yourself a favor and never stay at this hotel. I feel as if I was taken advantage of during and after my stay.

I have stayed in New Orleans a number of times. This hotel is small scale, laid back with loads of character. The staff was genuine and willing to help. The room was large and clean. Some facilities needed updating but nothing that would interfere with your comfort. The location was the best part. Everything is close and within walking distance. If you want to get the flavor of New Orleans then you can?t go wrong with this hotel. It has a great location and staff, at a very reasonable price.

The Chateau Dupre was a simple hotel, with small rooms and limited amenities. the attached resturant was adequate, but not great. The rooms were small, and one did not have a closet.

The Chateau Dupre overall was a very quaint and quiet hotel to stay in for 2 days. The location was perfect and was within walking distance to restaurants and other hotels in the area, making it very easy to get around for my business purposes. The room itself was well ventilated, and the bed was comfortable. I had some trouble getting the shower started, however, and had to call the front desk for instructions, which were not printed on the wall as I was told. My belongings were removed from the room, only to be re-checked in to the same room after this major inconvenience.

Staff friendly & helpful, very convenient location. The safe was out of order, room needed more table space. Great bartender.

The hotel was in a great location as far as catching Sheraton Shuttle to jazz fest and walking around the French Quarter in the evening. Free continental breakfast was basic - cereal, doughnuts, biscuts, fruit, coffee, juice - but was perfect to start off the day (as long as you could make it to breakfast before 9am). House-keeping was a little questionable as there was a wet wash cloth left in the shower and melted ice left in the ice bucket upon our arrival. I also had to ask for more towels (only two towels in a 2 Queen-bed room) and had to ask for more toilet paper when it was not re-stocked when the room was cleaned. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would return. One thing to note is the outside noise. Although it didn't bother me because I currently live in a major city, it might be bothersome for families with small children. Lots of noise coming from the street outside - people shouting, cars, sirens....but it's a Sat night in New Orleans - to be expected.

Chateau Dupre was a great value for the rate they offered me. The location is decent, right on Rue Decatur, not far from Canal St, decent walking distance to French Quarter activities and the riverfront. The staff was very friendly. They were kind enough to me in early, although the room I got had a view of a dumpster and a car park. If you just need a place to sleep, if that's in your itinerary, and/or keep your stuff, it's a great way to go. The only disappointment was that when the toilet clogged, I told the front desk and they told me the maintenance man was off that day, so they offered me a plunger. Later in the stay when the tank refused to fill, I notified the front desk and they failed to send anyone up about it. Overall, it was a decent value. I might stay there again.

We were allowed to check-in early which was really great. Breakfast was included but consisted of store bought doughnuts and sliced melon with coffee. The bathroom was separate but did not have a tub only a shower stall with no light.

Upon arriving at the hotel, I was told to give my keys and car over to the valet outside of the hotel. Little did i know that when i checked out the man at the front desk would tell me the hotel and valet are not affiliated; however on my HOTEL bill i was charged 25$ for the VALET service. My car was lost for 3 hours and the hotel staff and manager refused to refund me for the valet. Also we rented the hotel for a birthday party yet the front desk called our room numerous times requesting we be quiet when we were in no way being obnoxious.

This hotel appears to have been adapted into a very old manufacturing facility. As such the painted brick walls were rough and the roonm while adequate lacked any sort of warmth. The lighting was far from acceptable. There was an entry ceiling light and two 60 watt lamps, one floor lamp and one bedside with a shade with a burn nmark on it. The staff we met were quite pleasant and helpful and the room generally clean though the batroom could do with a bit more effort since it showed dirt along the tiles. Were we to return I'd try anotherlocation. Located in the French Quarter it was convenient to the festive attractions.

Although the location and price were excellent for New Orleans' French Quarter hotel, the staff was not trained well and all seemed to be a few bricks shy of a load. Since I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, I know that this is a lack of training. The property is in the process of rehab and had brand new bathroom fixtures which was nice. The blanket had holes (burn holes to be exact), the continental breakfast was a joke and the food for purchase was nothing to right home about. The location was excellent but would have preferred someplace that felt like we were welcome. The MANDATORY phone and safe charges are just a scam. Couldn't even find the safe in the room!!!! For 2 ladies staying in a room, the zero washclothes and the 1 bath towel didn't quite make it. Friends in another room lost an item and were treated disrespectfully when the staff was asked about the lost and found. Not consumer friendly!
