Chartfield Guesthouse is situated in a quiet backstreet off the main stretch of stunning Kalk Bay. A 30 second walk to the main high street and the sea front, the guesthouse is only a 20 minute drive to Cape Town city centre. From Kalk Bay guests can reach a host of beaches nearby and is just 20 minutes from the must see attrtaction, the Cape of Good Hope. There is also a train that runs from kalk Bay station straight into Cape Town CBD. Kalk bay is 30 minutes from the airport.

A really fabulous guesthouse and a great alternative for anyone wanting to get away from the formal hotel experience. Guests are made to feel welcome at Chartfield and it's perfect if you want to enjoy Cape Town's many attractions in a relaxed environment. There is a outdoor swimming pool with sunbathing area and a terrace overlooking the garden and with views of the sea. The hotel has small conference facilities and internet access. Kalk Bay itself is a beautiful qaint village and a great place for whale viewing in season.

The guesthouse has a dining area which, in line with the rest of the property, is bright and spacious and uses simple minamilist design. The room showcases local art and has stylish white tables and chairs and lots of natural light. Breakfast is served here and upon request lunch and dinner can also be served.

The lobby forms part of the guesthouse living area. As you enter Chartfield the informal check in desk is to your left with a seating area and inviting terrace overlooking the garden to your right.

These are really lovely rooms with antique furniture, original wood flooring and stylish comfortable bedding on their king size beds. Unlike many characterless hotel rooms, Chartfield's rooms are minimalist in style, bright and airy and have an old school charm about them. Nearly all rooms have a full or partial view of the sea and offer satelitte falt screen TV and en-suite bathrooms.
