great accommodations for the price through [...]

The location was excellent, close to everything we wanted to see or do. Rooms were nice but on the small side A nice hotel/resort near everything you could possibly wish to do. The room was small and excellent for a weekend but would be cramped for longer trips especially with a family.

Kind, courteous and helpful staff helped make the best of our two full days in Charleston.

We **2 adults & 2 kids** checked in the day after Easter for a Spring Break getaway. We booked two upgraded rooms with a harbor view for three nights. They have no adjoining rooms. My husband and I each stayed in a room with a child. This made it hard to enjoy our "family"trip. The hotel had almost no visible staff. The front desk clerks had little knowledge of their own property and nearby sites. Unfortunately we did not experience the southern hospitality Charleston is known for. The only bright spot was the bellman/ trolly driver. He gave us good sightseeing advice. The room did look like the pictures, but had obvious wear and tear. The bathrooms were tiny and one had seriously peeling caulk around the tub and sink with visible mildew. The pool was tiny and there is no beach area as in the photos. The few staff seemed more concerned about preparing for upcoming guests for the weekends boat races. The view was the best asset the hotel had. The hotel should really take resort out of there name. The restaurant was tiny and overpriced. There is no complimentary breakfast. We could have gotten better service and the same view at the Quality Inn down the street. I laughed when I saw that the gift shop was about the size of a closet with a few candy bars and t-shirts. There were dirty overflowing trash cans in front of the front doors. This hotel was trying to be classy. It forgot that service and friendlyness were a part of a first class hotel.

I don't think I have ever had a more beautiful hotel room for this price. It was very nicely decorated and we had a great view of the Yorktown exhibit which is very close by. The grounds were also nicely landscaped. They had a beach area (not for swimming though) with a wharf you could walk out on for better views of the harbor and downtown Charleston. The pool area was nice, but they should have it lit up better at night. The shower doors were half size glass ones that swung out, but this construction made the floor by the toilet wet becasue the water ran underneath the bottoms, so beware. However, the room itslef had two big arm chairs that faced a fireplace and big screen TV. It was like being in a regular bedroom. Loved it!

We chose Charleston Harbor Resort because of the location to Charleston and the great amenities and room. We loved the views from our room and around the hotel site. There were many things to do very close to the hotel or a short drive away to visit some great attractions.

after many years of visiting Charleston we had the best time at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina. We could not have asked for a quieter, clean, fashionable room anywhere else in the City. We loved the conveience of the Resort shuttle, dropping off and picking us up each 2 hours in the City, making us not have to use our vehicle as much. Very classy and yet reasonable/thanks very much /LCC

Very pleased with room decor, hotel service, location is near events, but away from hustle and bustle of Charleston, the view is great, and the room is cozy.

Great crafts for my daughter every morning - she loved it. The staff was friendly. I was disappointed that smoking WAS allowed at pool side, and I could smell it coming from some rooms. The water taxi was great! Perfect locatin and views.

My husband and I visited the hotel on a quick get-a-way. I was a little worried about the location, as we were planning to visit all the attractions in Charleston. It turns out we were in the best possible location!!! We had an amazing view of the Yorktown, the Ravanel Bridge and the Charleston skyline. The room was exactly like the photo on line. The king bed was very comfortable, the fireplace made the room very cozy and the flat screen television made my husband happy. The biggest surprise was about 10 minutes after our arrival, when we heard a knock at the door, a very nice young man brought us a beauitful dish of chocolate covered strawberries and an orchid! What an unexpected treat!!! The Reel Bar served good food and drinks, and the rootbeer floats from 4 until 5pm were great! The hotel is just minutes from an area called Shim Creek, which has delicious water front dining. We will definitely stay at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina during our next visit to Charleston!

First off, there was no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms. I know some places do not offer these amenties, but for the price I paid for the room, there should have been. Second, my second and final night there, the bed was not changed, only made. I never did think to check to see if the bed was fresh our first night. Talk about feeling nasty! Then we noticed the paper covers over the glasses in the room were the same as the night before. They also wanted to nickel and dime us for EVERYTHING!!!!! For example, if you go, pay attention to the basket of snacks in your room. Each individual snack has a hefty price and also a RESTOCKING FEE!!!!! I know I may be picky, but for the price of the room, I expected more.

I've stayed here many times and it is usually outstanding. However, this weekend they had elevator issues which made staying on the 4th floor a problem. Also, they were having some parties which limited the parking.

Good location to town. Room was sparse, hotel was barely staffed, few guests. Not somewhere I would stay again. Too expensive. No refrigerator in room, had to keep ice and drinks in the sink, not very classy. Maid came very late in the day. Hallway leak from something in the ceiling. Had to pay more for a decent room, other than an interior room with no view.

The beds were wonderful. We actually had and discounted room and they tried to upgrade us for a room with a view. Since we wouldn't go for the upgrade we were lucky to get a room right above the exhaust fan of the kitchen. (a) I am used to noise when I sleep....(b) the smell....fortunately as noted in a previous rating based on price of their menu they weren't that busy. A little out of the way of downtown. I will stay in the heart of the city next time.

The front desk staff was rude, indifferent, inept, over promised and never delivered and "works" as if their only incentive from management/ownership of this privately-owned hotel is the paycheck they receive by fogging a mirror and showing up for required work hours. They obviously are not incented to actually provide any customer service. This is a wonderful location, right on the harbor, access to the water, sand volleyball, etc. The staff ruin the experience so it might as well be located in the middle of Francis Marion Forest. We will never stay there again, even if given a free night.

We slept in each morning and were never disturbed. The pool area got slightly noisy at night (we had a room that faced the pool), but it was nothing obtrusive--just people having fun in a responsible way. The staff was great and helped to make a memorable experience!

Beautiful room, convenient to Patriot Point attractions, free shuttle to downtown Charleston. The bathroom needs a de-humidifier. It would have been nice for the first shuttle for Charleston to leave at 9 rather than 10 am. Beautiful hotel, very close (walking distance) to the USS Yorktown and ferry to Fort Sumter. The room was clean, the hotel staff friendly, quick service for extra towels. Easy, free shuttle to downtown Charleston which saves on gas and eliminates parking hassles.
