If you want the same old, same old resort experience look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you want an experience in Belize that is very personal and intimate, with two people who really attend to all of your needs, Changes in Latitudes is your absolute best choice on the island. X and X work very hard to ensure that all aspects of your stay are wonderful - they carefully check out all of the tour and excursion operators for you. They can arrange everything through the hotel so that you get one bill. This is a real advantage in a place like Belize. The rooms are spartan but very comfortable - the whole place has the feel of staying at a friend's (big) house than staying at a hotel. The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious - we especially loved the "indulge" days. There were children in our group from 8 to 21 years of age - X and X went out of their way to make them feel welcome. C in L is in a great location, too...on the south side of San Pedro about 50 steps from the beach and from a private pier where many of the excursions take place. At the same time, you are away from the noise and bustle of the city center about 2 miles north of there. The Danners The Woodlands, TX

I stayed a week in mid July 08 for a week. The bed and breakfast was very nice, clean, and the owners are extremely helpful. They pretty much know everyone around the island you need to know to make your visit all that you want it to be. I came alone and I felt very safe in the area. It is not right on the beach but less than a city block, no roads to cross just walk right out down the ally. Most days I got up around 6:30 went for a long walk and return to have Renita waiting with coffee and breakfast ready. Having breakfast included in your room rate really helps, as food is not cheap in San Pedro. I would recommend CIL highly and plan to return.

These ladies will take care of your EVERY need or leave you alone to explore Ambergris Caye on your own - you choose. You will feel like you are staying with friends - they seem to have a flair for making you feel right at home?. And make a great breakfast!! The commons area is just the right size and looks like a tropical garden. The location is awesome if you like to ''wonder into town'', to the beach, or a swim up bar at the pool (splash bar at the Yacht Club doesn't do it justice). For those of you that feel uncomfortable leaving the creature comforts of the good ole USA - don't worry! There is a night guard/security and the locals are some of the dearest I have encountered in the Caribbean. I have been twice and will go again without hesitation. If you have never been to Belize - I highly recommend it... the experience is like no other and I have been to Bermuda, Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Aruba, Cozumel, Cancun, and more.... Listen to Kelly's McGuire?s song Ambergris Caye to get the full affect - iTunes Album "Boat in Belize" I saw him while there too!!! It is truly ''unbelizable'' ENJOY!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Renita and Cindy. Having never been to Belize I relied heavily on their helpful recommendations prior to, and during our visit, with regards to logistics and optional attractions. I cannot adequately express how helpful they were, from arranging our flight from Belize City to providing postage stamps. They called restaurants, gave directions and set up our snorkeling at Shark Ray Alley with the fabulous L'il Alphonse as well as the amazing massages we had at Tropical Touch Day Spa. The delectable breakfasts (provided by friendly and informative Renita) were a perfect way to start the day and a chance to compare notes with the other guests. I almost didn't book Changes in Lattitudes because it isn't right on the beach and doesn't have its own pool. But with only a few steps to the beach and with complete access to the pool next door, we were probably closer to the ocean and a pool than we would have been at many of the larger hotels. We never needed any transportation as everything was within walking distance. And even being right in the midst of San Pedro, the property was very peaceful, and quiet at night. Several nights after dinner we would play Scrabble or hang out in the hammocks, enjoying the soft music piped into the arbor-covered sitting area. The rooms are very, very small, but clean and adequate. We had bunk beds - I had the lower double bed and my 22-year-old daughter climbed to the upper single. My most important requirements were met: clean, comfortable beds, and a shower with good water pressure and sufficient hot water. All in all a great experience.

R and C said they were there to pamper us and they lived up to their word. What a nice setting in a beautiful city. We had a wonderful time and a truly relaxing vacation. The rooms were clean and quiet. R and C defintely made our trip better with their tips and helpful hints about the city and our 7 day sailing trip. Breakfast was delicious, try the chocolate waffles if you get the chance, R is an excellent cook.

We traveled to Belize to take a sailing trip. Our first stop was CIL! WOW! Our room was just exactly right for our short overnight stay. When we walked in the door after a long day of travel we were greeted with a warm smile and a COLD beverage! Then, directions to a perfect place for dinner after a lovely walk down the beach. C & R went out of their way to help us get underway too. They helped us provision our boat for our 7 day sail and even included a jug of Panty Rippers for the trip. Well Done! We will definitely stay there again - hopefully for a longer stay too! Thanks!

I love staying at Changes in Latitudes. This was my 2nd stay at CIL, and I plan on having many more. R and C took great care of everything I needed -- I was traveling alone, but I didn't feel alone because of their friendliness and hospitality. I made several new friends during my stay and thoroughly enjoyed being in their gorgeous courtyard to enjoy the beauty of Ambergris Caye. Perfect location: close to the beach for walks to the hot spots, and the pool is right next door at the yacht club.

As a solo female traveler I decided to stay in a smaller B&B type facility opposed to a big resort. I couldn’t have made a better choice than to stay with Changes In Latitudes. Things went smoothly from making the reservation, throughout the stay right through the speedy check out process. The owners reside right onsite and were readily available any time I had a question. They went the extra mile making me feel more like a family-friend than a guest. A beautiful gourmet style breakfast with fresh local fruits, juice and coffee was available each morning. The courtyard was quaint and nicely nestled upon the property consisting of beautiful plants and tropical flowers. Little twinkling lights aglow in the evening made it the perfect spot for continuing conversations with friends. While during the day hummingbirds and native wildlife could be seen and appreciated. It was a wide open space yet snug and secure complete with the white picket fence and security. My room was modest but tastefully decorated with a tropical theme. There was plenty of shelves and space for hanging clothing. Fresh clean linens adorned the double bed along with an ample supply of pillows. The shower exceeded my expectations both in size and with great water pressure delivered through a multi- functional showerhead

The rooms are modest and plain, but besides that, everything else was remarkably wonderful. There are so many fun trips and activities going on everyday that it can be hard to know what to do on your own. The ladies who run the place will schedule everything for you and just put it on one simple bill at the end of the week. We got to go snorkling, go to caye calker, see a myan ruin and go fishing without having to track down any of the info ourselves. On top of that the breakfast is fantastic and the hammocks in the garden are perfect for laying in while drinking rum and coke. (They'll keep any beverages you want cold in the fridge in the kitchen.) So if you want a lux bedroom with stunning views, probably not your place. If you're they type that wants to get out of the room and be active, its incredibly perfect.

The hosts of Changes In Latitude, saved my trip to Belize. I had mistakenly booked a cheap room at dung heap called Pedro's Backpackers Inn. I walked in and saw the stained clapboard walls and knew I needed new accommodations quickly. When I met XXX, she was immediately supportive and was able to book last minute a room for me. She also invited me to join she and a few of their guests for dinner that night. Since I was traveling alone, this was a wonderful invitation. Not only were my accommodations great, the service that XXX and XXX provided me was excellent. While I was discouraged from trying to book a night snorkel dive, XXX made a call and it happened that night. I can't thank the two of them enough for making my stay in Belize wonderful.

Just returned from one week at Changes in Latitudes. We booked the trip on-line as a flight-hotel package and were not sure what to expect other than some favorable reviews. Well, those reviews did not do the place justice. The owners, xyz and zyz, are transplanted midwesterners who welcome you as best friends when you arrive, and from that point on they do all that they can to make sure that your stay is as adventurous or as laid-back as you want. It is concierge service that cannot be surpassed by any resort. Each day started with a delicious breakfast and ended with a cool Belikin beer in the courtyard. The location is ideal. A few yards from the beach and a short walk to the center of town. We plan on going back as soon as we can.

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at Changes in Latitudes and absolutely LOVED it. We felt like honored guests in Renita and Cindy's sanctuary. The rooms were immaculate and the courtyard was incredibly peaceful. The breakfasts were wonderful - the only downside being that we missed a breakfast on the day we went on the Blue Hole excursion (5:30am pickup - ouch!). We definately recommend snorkeling with Li'l Alfonse as your first snorkeling trip as you will likely learn a technique or two, even if you are an experienced snorkeler. Don't be afraid of the sharks! Overall, this is the best property that we've ever stayed. We will definately be back and hope to bring several friends.

We were greeted with smiles in this cozy bread and breakfast and the smiles kept coming for the remainder of the 7 days we spent at Changes in Latitudes. A, B, C, and D were wonderful to us in the service provided and we could not have thought of a better place on the island to have spent our time. Our 9 year old was smitten by the place, the service and our hosts and will remember her 'first' vacation as one of her best!! As far as us adults, we had an equally great time whether it was cave tubing, zip lining, fishing, snorkeling or simply lazying around in the hammocks in the wonderful entry area. The place just relaxes you and makes you forget about everything!! We loved San Pedro and Changes in Latitudes!!! Thank you A, and B for everything!!

"Yes, Belize is beautiful, as are the islands that border it. Yes, you will love the food, we were never disappointed. But Changes is Latitudes is completely unique from any other resort. You get direct interaction with the owners, and they will do anything to make sure that you enjoy your stay. You may also spend time in the courtyard with other guests, which is what we found was the most valuable part of our trip. We made some fantastic new friends and we know that you will enjoy your stay. If you're on the fence about going, just do it. You'll see!"

"I have been back home a few weeks and just cant get Belize and Changes in Lattitude off my mind. The owners are fun, interesting, happy, fantastic people who do everything they can to make your stay as great as you hope it will be. The breakfasts each morning are our of this world and the general atmosphere is like staying with friends. I'll definately be going back to Changes!"

"Changes In Latitudes is like living at home, only you have the ocean 35 feet from your front door and service beyond your imagination. On the grounds of this B&B, there is a wonderful trellis, covered in flowers, which I loved to sit under and read a book on comfortable furniture or hammock provided. So give yourself a treat, hop a plane, take a boat, but do spend some time at Changes in Latitudes."
