Ok for a basic hotel stay but the rooms and bathrooms are small. I also didn't like that I couldn't open the window and that I couldn't use the wireless (and the problem wasn't with my laptop as I'm Amtrak now using wireless). I did like that I could leave my luggage there for the day. Note that there is a bar on the street level so if you want quiet, go for a high floor above the reception area.

It was in a perfect location to shopping, restaurants. The room was very small. Not much room to move around. I did find that this hotel was very charming. The room had been remodeled recently and was very clean. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. It was also the least expensive hotel I could find in the Back Bay area of Boston.

The hotel is much better than I expected for the price, and its location is exceptional. Room and bathroom were small but very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I will make a reservation at this hotel again if I return to Boston. I will recommend the hotel to friends as well.

I'm a female and took my daughter to look at colleges. We felt extremely safe walking in the neighborhood at night and taking the trains around town from this location. The hotel had lots of tips for inexpensive quick meals within a few blocks of the hotel.

The location couldn't be better - quiet area close to everything. Fantastic hotel in a perfect location. Able to walk anywhere, close to the T, close to the South End and the Back Bay. The attached restaurant, Fritz, had a fantastic breakfast and was always hopping, night and day. They had cheap drinks as well. Overall, great hotel - I would definitely recommend.

I have stayed at the Chandler twice in recent years.Location seems quite safe and it is within an easy walk of shopping, restaurants, museums, etc. The staff is extremely friendly, courteous and efficient. Should I return to Boston, I will certainly stay there again. Rooms are small but charming.

While the front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is a nice walking distance to Newbury and Bolyston and the Back Bay T, this hotel is attached to a gay-bar and the hotel is 100% gay, with room rentals by-the-hour if desired. We could easily hear the bar noise until 2am as much of it flowed out onto the sidewalk under our window. There were late night wild sex parties in the hotel that were easily heard through the thin walls and which woke us and kept us up both nights. I've stayed in hostel rooms that were far nicer and cleaner. It was my first and last time using Orbitz; had I not prepaid, I would have left the minute we arrived.

The staff at the front desk went out of their way to be very helpful. We had no complaints. We had a very basic room, but it was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. It was quiet at night and the staff was very personable and friendly.

I thought the staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The location was key...the historic Back Bay area was beautiful and quaint, and a safe neighborhood (very important!). The hotel could use some updates, and it was small, but it was perfect for my boyfriend and I. We really only slept there, as Boston is such an exciting city. I would recommend it for couples, students, business, etc.

Its a small spartan room, but if all you need is a bed and a shower, this is the place to be. The decor is nice, the pillows great and the shower is awesome. The orange soap they supply is nice too. The location is super - 5 minute walk to the Orange Line or a 10 minute walk to the Green Line and lots of restaurants! The Staff is quite friendly. They will hold your luggage after check out if you still want to visit the city some more. We even got to check in early which was great since it was super hot out. I would use this location again for future Boston trips.

Very small, no place to eat within walking distance, no vending machines for food or drinks. Small rooms with twin beds. Old run down building, with alot of things not in working order. I would not reccomend this hotel for anyone wanting a good night stay in Boston.

Wonderful getaway weekend, reasonably priced, close to public transportation which gave us access to all Boston has to offer. Staff was exceptionally helpful, hotel was in a quiet, safe neighborhood within walking distance to many amenities. Wish we had more time to explore Boston.

The person in the reception who received us was very friendly and warm, and let us in before the check in time. It was very helpful to me. One of the receptionist was not very co-operative, not helping attitude. Overall I am satisfied, but a bit expensive compared to the facilities.

We recently stayed at the Chandler Inn for a graduation in Cambridge. You really can't go wrong with this place if you are looking for an affordable, safe, and friendly basic accomodations. The staff was more than helpful in giving us suggestions. It is a short walk to the T, and there is so much to see and do. We didn't mind the small room as we didn't spend that much time in the room anyway. When we return to Boston, we are definitely going to stay there again.

Clean, secure, convenient to convention center, train/bus, & shopping. AC was noisy. Hotel was clean and in easy walking distance convenient to convention center, train/bus, & shopping with good security & well lighted exterior.

Good value. Very convenient for mass transit to Quincy Market , the north end and Fenway. Also it was a short walk to the Opera House (don't walk back at night). Would have liked parking a little closer. Also would like to have the restaurant open for breakfast. Overall , met my expectations.
