Hidden treasureWell worth searching out, for this first visit to Manchester - avoiding the obvious big name, noisy road locations - and so close to the centre. Chancellors is interesting, unusual and very civilised: yet you would never know it was there. Excellent conference hall, excellent service: an oasis in an otherwise hectic city.

A very competitively priced hotel which, although not in the centre of Manchester, was very well provided by the local bus services. The room was clean and adequate for my needs, breakfast was tasty and waiting staff were efficient and friendly. Once it has wi-fi access in the bedrooms, it will provide everything a business traveller needs.

A bit disappointingThis hotel was ok - the staff were friendly and helpful but my early morning call was forgotten which meant I was late for a business appointment and the toilet hadn't even been flushed, let alone cleaned when I went into the room. All in all, the room was adequate but small but the breakfast was good.

It is a nicely located hotel, our room was very quiet which we enjoyed, but the one thing which stands out from everything else was the staff. From the moment we arrived there, nothing was too much trouble, if they could help, they would go out of their way to. I can honestly say, after many, many years of staying in hotels, that the staff in the Chancellors are the best by far of any other place I know. One young lady in particular was more than helpful to my wife and I but she works only to sunday at three, I failed to remember her name. They were all very pleasant from the moment we walked in from the duty manager to the cleaning staff. On the whole they were a great team, and it shows.

Very nice and clean hotel, about 15 min. far from the center (by bus). Buses in day + night service, so the hotel is accessible without problem. Good and rich breakfast, good bed, quiet neighborhood.

chancellors hotelAlthough a little tricky to find, this was a surprisingly good experience for the price. Quiet hotel even at weekend yet within short bus journey to central Manchester. Staff were excellent - extremely accommodating, even providing room service after hours when I arrived starving! Extremely clean, the room had everything you'd need for a basic stopover and the breakfast was really good - self service hot and/or cold selections. REally good price. Overall, nothing luxurious except the welcome but absolutely no complaints. Would go again.

Good value for money, althought he Monday morning breakfast, whilst plentiful, was a bit dissapointing for a vegetrain.

Fair Trade Coffee - woohoo!!Well within the city boundaries, but within the grounds of Manchester University, so there is plenty of green space around, which almost gives it a rural setting.Anyway, meets the standards I expect of a Hotel - clean and polite service, and very efficient. Food in the restaurant is very good. If you don't like being around large groups on conferences or courses, then leave well alone, but otherwise a good room at a good price, and a bit different from a chain indetikit place (although not particularly quirky).Oh, yes, and they have fair trade coffee in the rooms. Important for those of us that give a ....

Chancellors HotelHotel is situated away from the main road so it is possible to miss the signs. I found all of the facilities to be more than adequate although my double room would have benefited from having a little more space (as would the bathroom). Good internet connection in my room which was complimentary (definitely a plus for me). Rooms are quite well spread across the complex so it was a longer than expected walk to my room only a problem if you are carrying the kitchen sink...! Good breakfast in the morning and secure parking overnight. Very pleased with my two-night stay and would certainly use again.

Enjoyable stayChancellors Hotel provided very good accommodation in a pleasant environment. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. The evening meal was one of the best I've had for a while and the breakfast was excellent. The only down side was the technical glitch which meant they could not provide me with a receipt on the morning of my departure. They promised to send this in the post.

Nice no-problem stayNice place, Good value for money. Free internet is only free 1h/day. Otherwise 5pounds/day. I guess that wireless would also work at other places at the university. But confirm that before buying it, I did not buy that net but found out that they have the same SSID at university.Get there via bus 43 from airport (approx 3 pounds). Get to back airport also in the morning. Checkout 24h/24. Nice people. Nice people. Nice low-hassle place with good breakfast.

ChancellorsStayed up for 1 night to watch the Liverpool game - I would of stayed on a washing machine that night 4-1 ;-)!! Hotel room was a bit on the small side, but clean which is the main thing! Approx £12 to get into manchester city centre in a taxi before 10pm which was dissapointing, maybe best to pay a bit more to stay in the city centre. Only reason I would not stay here again would be because of this!!
