Hotel Champlain, Paris June 2009A pleasant hotel conveniently situated. Our room was a little on the small side but well furnished with a good en suite bathroom. Staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working for the 3 nights we stayed there. A small fan was provided which did not really help. The weather was hot so we had to sleep with the windows open - not usually a problem but it could be noisy during the night and early in the morning. I would recommend it provided the air con was definitely working!

Stayed at Champlain with my boyfriend for 4 nights and it ended up to be a very nice stay. But when we first got there, they had lost our booking which caused a little panic but they eventually found a room for us. Unfortunatly this room was overlooking the subway and was extremely noisy. It wouldn't have been so bad with the windows closed though- we had to keep them open because it was an unseasonally hot week in Paris and the hotel had no air conditioning. So we asked to be moved to another room on the other side of the hotel which was lovely and had a view of the eiffel tower. We also eventually got a fan after asking several times. One woman at front desk was helpful, everyone else was rude (especially the night guy). All in all the hotel was pretty and clean, I would stay there again but not in the summer!

This hotel is in a great location in the city, but it is located next to a train line and road. They put me in a room on the loud side of the hotel, so I did not get much sleep...so not able to give it a high rating. The service and cleaniness and overall room was fine...just didn't get much sleep b/c of constant noise from trains and traffic.

The hotel is only 5 minutes from the Rome metro station, approximately 20 minutes walk from Sacre Coeur and a maximum of 30 minutes from the Arc De Triumphe. It's a modern business quality hotel, my room was reasonably well sized with very modern fittings, the quality of the room was very good. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard.The hotel can be quite expensive for a short break but I got a good deal, at approximately 50% of the standard rate. I would definately recommend this hotel of you can get the room for approximately 120-130 Euros. I didn't eat at the hotel, however the area is well served with local restaurants and cafes.

Good hotel for paris, room a bit on the petite side but they all are! Nice big bathroom, great shower, nice decor and friendly staff.

An exceptionally pleasant hotel. Very modern, clean and some would say chic for a very fair price. The location is excellent for exploring Montmarte and environs and the hotel itself is only 150m from Rome (the Metro stop that is!). We didn't go for the American buffet breafast/brunch at €16 as the US Open Tennis kept us up late, however there was a kettle and tea/coffee in the room that was very useful.
