A bit deceptive, in the features part of Orbitz it had listed a fridge and microwave as part of the amenities. There was NO microwave or fridge, which was upsetting because we picked this hotel for that reason. The first night we stayed in a room where the air conditioning didn't even work! The next day I asked for another room and they were very kind and promt to get a room for us, with a working air conditioner. Nice staff, but I will not book a room here again.

Short walk to University of Virginia campus and John Paul Jones Arena. A queen bed would have met our needs better as opposed to a full. This hotel is in the perfect spot for someone looking for a convenient place to stay after a concert at the John Paul Jones Arena. The walk there takes 5 minutes. The hotel had a bit of a college dormitory feel to it, kind of sparse but adequate.

I stayed here on more than one occasion when I visted UVA prior to becoming a student. If UVA is your main reason for visiting Charlottesville, and you will be spending most or all of your time on grounds, the Cav Inn can't be beat. Virtually on grounds, you are within easy walking distance of most school buildings. You won't need a car if you don't plan on going down town, and even if you do there is a bus system available. The Cav Inn also provides a free shuttle from the Charlottesville airport on request. I used this service--they were prompt and the driver was friendly. As far as the rooms themselves go, the hotel is a little old. I've heard rumors that they might tear it down. But the rooms are very clean and well kept, even if a little worn. The beds are very comfy! The staff od this hotel is very friendly, from the front desk attendents to a maintenace guy I met in the elevator. They work hard to ensure you have a nice stay. The prices are very affordable. I booked through Orbitz with a discount code and got my room for the night for only $64! Its no luxury suite, but if you are looking for clean, comfortable accomadations with good service, the Cav Inn is a great deal! For a traveler visiting UVA, I highly recommend the Cav Inn. Even the hotel gets in the college spirit-the lobby follows a UVA color scheme and even the front doors are emblazoned with an enthusiastic WAHOOWA! Enjoy your stay.

Close to University and offers airport pick-up. Dated. If you don't mind a dated "motel" feels this is a great location for visiting UVA. Clean and comfortable with great staff and decent continental breakfast.

The hotel had cabel television. Room was not clean, had mildew in bathroom, bed was uncomfortable. Could hear a sermon for 2-3 hours through the air vents.

Promises of refridgerator & microwave not kept till I complained. And even then still did not get microwave even when I explained it was to store medicine that had to be cooled and medical fluids that needed heating. Very disappointing. ***Also, Bewteen Orbitz and Cavalier Inn, a credit card that didn't exist was charged on my behalf which I find very disturbing, esp having given & presented my real credit card at reservation and check-in.

Convenient to university and good morning breakfast. Extremely incompetent front desk staff. The hotel is in a good location and offers a great continental breakfast. However, the front desk staff is extremely incompetent regarding the room reservation and in obtaining an accurate receipt for the room. I was awakened at 03:26am after the evening clerk did not pass on the key to my guest as requested so that I did not get awakened after a very long trip. Also, the receipt that I got in the morning (after being assured from the night before that I could get one) had my name on it with someone else's address and their credit card number. When questioned about it, the staff told me they did not know how it happened and they could fix it and give me a correct receipt showing a zero balance. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone because of the incompetent staff. The manager never called me to try to assist me after the front desk took my name and number reassuring me that he would do so.
