The best thing is the hotel location, right in the middle of CBD. But the room is so small and wireless Internet is not free, $2 for 15 mins. Buffet breakfast menu is same for every day, no egg and don't expect for meat at all.

Double room for single use was very small - glad I was not sharing. No space for toiletries (small glass shelf in bathroom taken up with shampoo, shower cap etc. Desk/table has seen better days, with burn marks peppered over it. Carpets had some staining in room and hallways. Good TV reception with free access to some cable channels. Windows opened for fresh air. Quiet hotel for the most part. Breakfast basic (toast, packaged cereal, fruit, rolls) but beats starving. Great cafes and restaurants nearby. Transport easily accessible. Great shops nearby. Room access was by 2 separate lifts. Wheelchair access good.

This hotel is ideally located for tourists visitng the city of melbourne. The rooms are clean however very small, but for the price you pay this hotel is very good value for money considering its location.

I have stayed at the Causeway Inn on the Mall a few times now. I like the fact that it is very centrally located. The staff are pleasant and very helpful - even if you arrive very early in the morning! I would stay there again.

Hotel in great location, but tucked away hard to find. Room clean but needs updating, all looked shabby, breakfast ok. This is an ideal hotel if you want to explore melbourne without spending any time in the hotel.

This hotel was good for the price & position in the city. Great continental breakfast included in the price too! However the television reception in our room was so bad we were unable to watch the local channels. I guess if we had complained - the staff may have fixed it for us. We would certainly stay there again - despite the TV.

The shower was never hot and sometimes coldish.No need to put on the cold tap Hard to wash hair The amount of space for two women traveling together was very small No where to put two suitcases The heating was hard to adjust. Coldish air blew over one bed. ABC TV almost impossible to see

the windows looking out from the hotel room were always dirty from the fifth floor. Also the breakfast menu is lacking. there was only a small variety of fruits and no ham or cheese. the mini croissants were fantastic tho as well as the staff on the front counter who were always helpful and always friendly. the way that baggage was held after checkout with the security camera and lock is a really good idea. i think that the wireless should be cheaper and for tourists a free computer to use would be a great idea.

We stayed in a standard room for 2 nights and must say its the best hotel i have ever stayed in melbourne. Great location on bourke st opposite Myers and David Jones. Our flight arrived in at 5am and check in normally 2pm but we got checked in at 6am which was great after a red eye flight. Also we got late check out till 12 midday all free of charge. Breakfast was really good and the bed was really comfy too. The room was really clean and were very updated with new LCD tv's and in room safe. 10 out of 10.

It is the best location in the middle of the town, especially at this price range. Clean lounge. Continental breakfast is at good quality. The furniture is slightly old. A room is quite small, but alright if you don't plan to spend much time in the hotel. We have occational issues of room cleanliness (only one day in five days we stay). All in all, it is good and worth the money.
