Situated near the historic Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas areas is the Catalonia Ramblas Hotel. Visitors to the hotel will enjoy a short walk to many of Barcelona’s most famous destinations including the medieval Gothic Quarter and the modernist neighborhoods of the Eixample District, home to many of the creations of Gaudi.

The Catalonia Ramblas Hotel is located at Pelayo, 28 in the city’s center, and approximately 30 minutes from the airport.

Everything seems nice, but! Great sized rooms and nicely planned, great location and the pool even though it's small and cloudy all the time is good. The advertised "Fitness Room", is a treadmill and a bike, that's it. The spa and jacuzzi weren't working and the most amazing thing was the "High speed internet", or lack there of. It's part of the package but, OMG, never seen internet that slow, ever!, tested it at about 16kbps. Asked the staff about it and they said it was High speed! Saw a lot of people bringing their laptops down to the foyer to try and get better reception, doesn't work. Breakfast wasn't included. All that the price was too much for the stuff you thought you'd get but don't!

Great hotel, great locationLovely hotel. great location. Rooms large with contemporary decor and very clean. Bar had a nice atmophere and drinks not too dear for a Barcelona Hotel so close to Las Ramblas. Would definitely return.

Wonderful central location just off the Playa de Cataluyna at the head of La Ramblas, so well placed for walking around central Barcelona and public transport to other districts. Hotel is business modern inside a modernista shell. So a bit characterless, to my taste, but that is more than offset by friendly staff and efficient service. Rooms have all you need. That includes huge double beds and shower heads. Free in-room wifi.

The hotel is very nice and clean and near Plaza Catalonia and the great Rambla. The smoking rooms are in the first floor and located a side walk (no view).The spa including the gym was closed which disappoint me. I recommend it for a short stay, but ask if the spa is open or not during your stay if you are interested on it.

After a problem with check in to our original room due to smoking in a non smoking room, we got upgraded to a suite for the week. Awesome service, made our stay truly memorable.

Nice hotel and good location near all shops resturants etc. Swimming pool was closed and is only open in the summer season. There is a nice spa to relax in. Didn't try the hotel food - b'fast was 15 euros each better to go to cafes outside.

The hotel had all of the potential to be a really good 4* hotel. The location was fabulous - couldn't have been better. The restaurant was fantastic, both in the quality of the food, the service and in the price - and I would definately recommend the restaurant. The amenities are also fine. There is a nice pool terrace with a small pool (although not nearly enough loungers for the number of guests using the facilities). However, overall we felt that the service and management of the hotel generally was a bit sloppy and we had serious concerns about hotel security. On check in the key cards that we were allocated let us into someone else's room. It took an hour, with no real explanation or apology, to allocate another room. Our key cards to our new room expired a day early and we returned to the hotel at the end of the day to find that the key cards had been deactivated and the room not cleaned or re-stocked (although all used towels and cups had been removed). The system had obviously thought that we were due to check out that day. When we informed reception they simply reactivated the cards to room 225 without any explanation or questions as to our identity. We then had considerable difficulty in getting clean towels and coffee making facilities delivered. The room was perfectly acceptable - although the shower leaked and we had difficulties obtaining hot water on two occasions - and we were told that there is a policy of only restocking the 'complementary' tea and coffee every other day. I did not think that the 6 night stay was worth the (nearly) E800 (room only) that we paid - but perhaps my expectations were too high!

Extremely central, just 5 minutes walk from Playa Catalunya and the airport bus - so easy to get to. Smart, clean, modern interior and rooms. We chose this hotel because it had a proper outdoor swimming pool, set in a quiet area behind the hotel, which provided a much needed escape from the bustle of the busy streets. Chose room only - as there are so many cafes nearby - so cannot comment on the food. The basement dining room looked pretty bleak - unless you were in a big group. Although the modern decor is a little bland and airport-like, I would still recommend this hotel to friends.

there was construction work being done in the reception area throughout the week,noise levels were high.room service was a disgrace,when i spoke english they hung up the phone,i had to go down to reception to complain only to be told that i was mistaken and had to firmly assure the young man that i was not. i felt no action was going to be taken.pool bar-staff were also rude.better level of spoken english is needed by all staff. leisure facilities are a joke=two running machines stuffed in a corner!!!!!
