It is near the Porto Pi shopping centre and the Fundacio Joan Miro.The hotel, refurbished in 2000, combines an elegant style with modern features. It has a total of 168 rooms, all of them with beautiful views and most of them also have a terrace.In the hotel you will find three swimming pools(outdoor pool, children's pool and heated indoor pool), Jacuzzi, gym, solarium, coffee bar, three meeting rooms and a restaurant with splendid views of the bay and harbor. Inside the hotel is the Majorica Center; this is a new, modern convention centre which opened in 2006, which contains various spaces for all types of event and which is ideal for holding conventions and meetings. The rooms and spaces of the Majorica Center are noted both for being multi-use and for their natural light, as well as for being able to hold up to 300 people

Close to Cruise terminal and fantastic viewsAfter hours of checking out hotels in Palma, I chose the Catalonia Majorica because it was close to the cruise terminal where the ship my daughter is working on came in. It turned out to be perfect in this respect as the terrace directly overlooks the cruise terminal and I was able to watch the ship sail in and out. It was really relaxing to be able to sit on the terrace and look out across the bay and I would choose the hotel again just for the views.The hotel was fairly quiet, but the area around the pool was quite busy. I think someone has already mentioned the limited number of sun beds. Actually, this wasn't a problem as I spent the day looking around Palma and only sat on a sun bed early in the evening when nobody else was there.One thing I'd like to mention is the fact that the hotel is not that easy to find if you are intending to use the Airport Bus. The bus costs just 2 Euros as opposed to 20 Euros for a taxi so I decided to try it out. The best stop to get off at is the Club de Mar. From there it's about a 15 minute walk - uphill all the way!

The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is superb - definately something for everyone. Having read previous reviews about the location being a problem, we did not find this at all, if you want spectacular views then obviously the hotel needs to be in an elevated position, but it was still easy to walk to and if you don't fancy walking then the taxis are very cheap and readily available. I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to visit again.

The hotel has sea views which are as good as anywhere I've stayed however, not all the rooms have sea views and those that don't overlook other hotels/apartments. The negatives about the hotel were the gym was out of order as was the indoor pool and 2 or our 5 patio door did not lock which made security a concern. The pitcures of the hotel suggest it's right next to the harbour which isn't actually the case it is approximately 1 mile to the start of the harbour and another mile before you reach the main street of bars and restaurants. You can get taxi's along but it was difficult to get them later on so we ended up walking back most nights which took 30-40 mins. The staff were really friendly it is just a shame the maintenance of the hotel let it down.

A great experience overall. Sea views are well worth requesting and the sunrise is worth getting up early for.
