Traum oder Alptraum unter einem DachThe Hotel is a really nice and clean, has a simple but intriguing architecture and a beutiful small roof terrace. The position in Barcelona is great for everybody who wants to discover the city by foot. The only thing you have to pay attention to, when you make a reservation is to request a room with a window on the outside and for security request a written confirmation. If you do not, you risk to finish in a room without natural illumination or areation, with the only window going out on the hotel corridor! And that isn't really worth the price!

I chose this hotel for the location in Barcelona and the pictures I saw of it in this website. The location was really good, very near of "La Rambla" and in the heart of this area of the city; two subway stations are near and it is not that far to "Plaza de Cataluña", where you can easily find all types of transportation to any part of the city. Even thought the hotel is very clean and it has a cool design my experience was not that comfortable: First, the bed was very (I mean very) small and the pillow was so thin, making my sleep complicated. Second, the air conditioner didn't worked that well and considering Barcelona's weather (and humidity) it was really disgusting to be inside the room at night (the people in the front desk told me they were going to send someone to check it but they didn't). My room had a window to an indoor lobby (not exactly the view you want to have in Barcelona) and some other details as arriving to my room twice and finding out that there were no towels (and going to the front desk to beg for some) made my stay not comfortable. This is a nice hotel but it seems that they have forgot the small -and sometimes elemental- details that make that big difference.

clinical dull hot and stuffythe hotel is close to the ramblas however it is also close to the china town, not a quaint area with restaurants etc but the red light area where people are openly selling taking drugs no police presence be careful!!!!! Our experience was marred by being robbed in the street only a few metres from the hotel. When we went to the hotel reception to get directions to the police et cetera we where informed by our receptionist we were the 12th couple in the hotel that day to have been robbed this way. Why were there no warnings put up on the exit etc. Bad customer relations while we were checking out people where leaving with valuables clearly on display no one from the hotel offered any warning. The room had no outside view or ventilation very clinical and dull.

A chic contemporary hotel in a cool area for a great price. Quiet rooms, great shower, blackout curtains-perfect for the morning/afternoon after. Do it.

Dark small but centralThe hotel photos are quite deceptive. Although the hotel has been modernised the rooms are small and grey, the corridors are dull blue and poorly lit. I had am impression I was booking a double room with two double beds but this does not exist in the hotel. Our twin room had to have a third bed added when my husband joined us and the price for the room nearly doubled! There was then very little floor space! However the central location is wonderful, it has free wi-fi, which is great. The room was clean and the service efficient.

Rooms were very basic, the lobby is certainly the flashiest bit! Bed was hard as a rock. BYO toiletries as the cheap ones supplied were, well, cheap! The pool looked larger in the photo than in real life, but it was nice to have somewhere to go to lie about, even if there are limited daybeds. Location was excellent.

Very good value for money in BarcelonaLarge, well decorated, modern rooms and bahtrooms in the heart of Barcelona. Some with windows opening on to an interior patio which makes for quietness but a bit claustrofobic. Lovely roof terrace. Great breakfast.

A very clean, modern and basically furnished hotel. Excellent location with many great shops and restaurants located nearby. The staff were really helpful and my teenagers loved the free internet. I needed some documents printed and the staff were extremely helpful. We only stayed one night prior to our cruise and would definitely stay there again. There were no windows in our two rooms, but not a problem due to the quirky design.

An excellent hotel with excellent staff and in a fantastic location. We only stayed for 1 night but wouldn't hesitate to stay for longer.....in fact we're already planning another trip to Barcelona and will definately be staying at the Catalonia Avinyo Hotel. This is no way a negative point,as it didn't bother me in the slightist, but be aware that some rooms face the inside of the hotel so don't have any natural light. Looking forward to our next visit to Barcelona and the Catalonia Avinyo Hotel.

We were really pleased with the location of this hotel, right in the heart of the Gothic district- close to loads of bars and shops. Very trendy little hotel with everything you need in your room (although the room was a little on the small size). My only complaints would be the room smelt quite smokey although it was meant to be a non-smoking room, the drain in the shower seemed to block up easily and the walls seemed quite thin- you could hear the people in the next room very clearly! Oh and the power went off on the first night for a few hours but was rectified by the time we got back in (not sure if it was just the hotel or the whole neighbourhood). Nevertheless we would like to come back in summer and make the most of the roof top terrace/jacuzzi/pool!

Location was great, but the room did not have a window to the outside, which meant that there was no sunlight and this was not mentioned in the description and would have been useful.

Perfect location and decent quality room! Like the idea of the jacuzzi + pool on the roof, although didn't get the chance to try them. Good value for money! Would recommend this hotel!

The hotel is really nice, the location is good and the rooms are good. The food is rubbish...but there are plenty of other places to eat.
