Hotel is well situated in centre of Barcelona. The rooms give were small but adequate for a 1 night stay. Hotel is very clean and quite.

The Catalonia Albononi is lovely. Stayed here over a weekend before departing on a cruise. The hotel is charming- not luxurious, but certainly very comfortable and quite clean. The staff was helpful and friendly- the beds comfortable and the room quiet. Location is great- near Las Ramblas , but still quiet. Value for the price is exceptional. Food in the resataurant was very good.

You provided a nice collection of potential hotels. We selected this one based on price and the fact that it was also a selection of Rick Steves in his write up of places to stay in Barcelona. Thanks for your service.

Catalonia Albinoni Hotel Review - June 2009Even if this hotel is very nice (I had been already there several times), the room I got was really tiny with no proper window - actually a small window in front of a wall. When I booked on Laterooms site, it was written that the normal price was 187€ and the discounted price was 84€. I am fully sure 187€ can not be the price for this kind of room, even 84€ was too much.

We stayed at the Catalonia Albinoni for four nights in June 2008. We had a room with two twin beds on the top (4th floor), with a window that faced a blank wall. Although initially concerned with the massive jackhammers that were going 20 feet away, the room was very quiet and we never heard any street noise or any of our neighbors. This hotel has a fantastic location. It's one block from the Placa Catalyuna metro, one block from a supermarket in the basement of Corte Ingles (not the one next door, the big one opposite Placa Catalyuna), and two blocks from the cathedral and Las Ramblas. It's in the pedestrianized area, so if you want a taxi to take you to the door, you're going to have to walk about 100m. We took the train from the airport and walked from Passieg de Gracia, which was long, but doable with rolling luggage. Service was great. Fresh towels and toiletries every day.

Lovely hotel, fantastic location in safe pedestrianised street. Staff helpfull, room large and spotlessly clean.Did ask for non smoking which I got and for room with a view, got one but it was of an internal wall 6 feet away!Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Well positioned in the centre of the city. Easy to get to from the airport - just jump on the Aerobus (A1) which takes to to Placa de Catalunya (about 200 yards from the hotel entrance). Building work is still going on out the front, so for a quieter break, try to get a room at the back! We upgraded to a superior room which was good with a private balcony. There was an unpleasant smell (however, this was not just our room, it seemed to be in the City as well at various times). The breakfast was OK with a fairly limited choice and we went out for main meals. La Rambla restaurants were expensive, but there are some excellent places to eat in the side roads.Staff were very pleasant and efficient. If returning to Barcelona, we would choose to stay here again.

really pleasant staythe hotel was very clean and the staff professional. the room was comfortable and noise-free. my only complaint was that it got a bit cold in the night and the heating didn't work. i had to resort to using the hairdryer to heat the room! but it really was a lovely place, a mixture of old and new, and the location was perfect.

Nice room, excellent loaction! This hotel is perfectly located right in the centre of all of the main attractions. Within walking distance of Placa de Catalunya, La Ramblas and within the heart of the Gothic Quarter, it couldn't be better placed for a few days of site seeing on foot. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and with a friendly atmosphere. The room was slightly smaller than the photograph hinted at, but was faultless in its cleanliness and facilities, with modern decor and comfortable bed. The bathroom was great with a nice hot power shower which never went cold. I was lucky enough to have a balcony looking out on the main street below which offered great views. The shops outside do play music up until about 9.30pm which you can hear quite clearly but as soon as they shut up for the night, everything was nice and quiet. Highly recommended!

Satisfied guestVery central location, all major sights within walking distance. Staff spoke good english and very helpful particulary as on arrival we had been allocated a double as oposed to a twin, this was rectified imediately although to an inside room but with a promise of change the next day which was carried out without any second request. Would recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona to see the sights.

On one hand...I was in the hotel on Business and I needed the staff's assistance to send a fax and they were extremely helpful, going above and beyond to assist.Unfortunately the hotel could not match up to the staff. The hardest bed ever, air conditioning not working, tiles missing from the wall, a view of a brick wall. The restaruant promised much, but the most appealing item on the menu was meat of pork feet, not my ideal choice. Defintely worth looking elsewhere to eat, in fact stay at a different hotel altogether.

The hotel was well placed for our purposes, and was sufficiently quiet in later hours. A great deal going on in this area of Barcelona, shops, bars and attractions.Unfortunately there was considerable building work opposite. (20 odd Luxury Apartments)

This hotel was covered up and being renorvated when we were staying. There was also building work opposite the room we were in, the work started very early in the morning. The hotel was a fantastic old building with a lovely swimming pool and conservatory breakfast/ restaurant. The room and bathroom were very nice but there was a nasty damp smell comig from the bathroom. This was mentioned to the receptionist who said there was nothing they could do about it. The literature stated that the hotel had a car park which is why this hotel was chosen and we booked a place through late rooms but when we arrived we had to park in a very expensive city carpark. Overall I would book this hotel again as it was very central just off the ramblas but would try and move room to one with extractor fan in the bathroom.

great location, in the middle of Barcelona perfect for shopping, la rambla etc. Nice outside pool, nice breakfast, room was okay, clean but didn't have a view of anything. Would recommend asking for room with view as felt a little enclosed after a while.

The location of the hotel was excellent. It is about 3 minute walk to La Ramblas. The hotel was really quiet at night. After the first night we had to move room because the first room was really small, stuffy and hot because the window only opened into an enclosed space, but staff were very helpful and gave us a bigger room with a proper window. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Building work was going around the hotel but we weren't disturbed by this at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel due to its excellent location.
