Castle Poipu Shores is oceanfront on Kauai's sunny shores within the world famous Poipu Beach Resort area. Guests can choose from one, two or three bedroom condominium suites. All suites are spacious with beautiful oceanfront views and feature fully equipped kitchens, beautiful island-style furnishings, color television, washer/dryer and private lanai. Enjoy a memorable vacation in one of Kauai's most popular condominium resorts. Beginning March 15, 2009, Castle Resorts will provide mid-stay housekeeping service for stays that are 7 days or longer, which includes changing of linens and towels, vacuuming, and cleaning of bathrooms as well as kitchens.As a result, this properties will not be offering daily maid service in lieu of this mid-stay clean. Daily maid service will be honored for any reservations that are booked prior to March 15, 2009. Guests who are staying less than 7 days can purchase additional housekeeping services at nominal costs. Extra towels and amenities will be provided in each unit prior to check-in. Guests can request for replenishment of the bath amenities (shampoo, soap, toilet tissues) at any time without charge. There will be a small fee for the replacement of towels/linens.

We were thrilled with the accommodations. Staff were friendly, the condo (102a)was very clean with great amenities. The kitchen had some unexpected extras (blender, griddle etc.) The gas grills on the property were clean with better equipment than expected. The pool was well maintained and the view of the ocean was outstanding. Our favorite extra might have been the sea turtles that play in the surf by the hotel around the clock. Beach access was convenient, just a little walk. Shower was the nice walk-in type. High speed internet was handy. The place was very quiet in spite of lots of guests with kids. Know going in there is no A/C, but two large ceiling fans. It never got that hot during our stay, but it's humid! And we loved the sound of the surf on the rocks, but it does get loud. Kept me up one night, but it was a fluke. The only thing we would have preferred would be more private curtains in the bedroom/living room. We were on the ground level that shares a lawn (and pool access) with other guests. The curtains are rather sheer, and while I'm not sure one could easily see in, you can certainly see out! Kids running back and forth from the pool might discourage the honeymooners, if you know what I mean!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and can't imagine ever staying at a different place next time we return. Georgia who works at the front desk at Poipu Shores is wonderful and full of good info. The rest of the staff is friendly, the condo is equipped with everything you need and is large enough to bring other guests for dinner. The kitchen is very comfortable. The condos are equipped with a washer and dryer also! We got a lower room that opened up to the grass and cliff- it wasn't 100% private but not many people would walk by. There are upper condos w/ balconies that give you a wider view of the coastline but you will have to walk all around to clearly see the sea turtles that hang out EVERY MORNING right under the cliff by the pool. We would go to sleep listening to the waves and wake up to the birds. We bought groceries and had several meals at the condo to save $. There's a communal bbq and we made a delicious salmon/pineapple dinner one night. There aren't 'activities' at the hotel besides the beautiful pool, but Poipu is full of activities. The condo is near a Poipu beach where one can go snorkeling or swimming. Just 5 min drive you can get to a shopping mall and a little farther there's a cute little town with a fish market that makes great lunch take-outs. Other activities in the island you should try are: Capt Andy's rafting trip, Smith's Luau, Blue Hawaiian helicopter ride. This trip would not have been as memorable if we had stayed anywhere else! We loved it!

A great place to stay...sea turtles at your back door...super location right on the shore...Condo was clean and well maintained...only negative was the noise from the pounding waves but we expected that....we would stay here again!

Beautiful condos, well equipped with washer and dryer and kitchen with supplies. Staff very friendly and helpful. Can see sea turtles near the pool area every morning. Sound of waves is amazing, but if you don't like the sound, the windows are pretty sound-proof. Lots of places to visit near the condo. Great for kids because there's a back room with two beds and plenty of space in the living-room. Lower rooms not as private but you can walk out into a small garden facing the ocean. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Our condo was right on lava cliffs overlooking the ocean. The view was fantastic, ocean spray splashing over the rocks and always 4 to 5 sea turtles swimming around. The condo was nicely furnished and had a well equipped kitchen. It looked like every unit at this location would have just as great a view.

"2 room deluxe. The place was filthy. Fake plants were covered in dust. Shower was so icky we had to wear flip-flops. Lanai view awesome, but is glass panels very hot no breeze can get through. No A/C, but needed since condo faces west. Awesome crashing waves, but every 2 minutes a blow hole hits, sound is a huge precussion Ka-boom. A couple nights your nerves are shot. Bad bed. Screens let in flying bettles all over, even get into bed. Washer rust coroded dryer musty. Cabinets grimy. Entire place needs updated and a good scrubbing. Parking crowed and narrow."

We were awestruck by the view of the ocean. We saw whales playing and sea turtles from our patio. On the beach we had the opportunity to be up close to monk seals (a mother and pup). We enjoyed the drive to the mountains to see the "Pacific Grand Crayon." We loved Kaui, it was what Hawaii is suppose to be.

"180 degree ocean view, 40 feet from your room, complete with crashing waves, turtles, dolphins and whales - right off your lanai. The pool built into the ocean is the place to hang out to see even more ocean life. The location between the Hyatt and the Sheraton makes for great AM walks in either direction. Poipu has the best weather of all the resorts on Kauai, and yet still has lush fauna. We're coming back here many times."

Location, location, location. This is at an excellent one, a two minute walk from Poipu beach and close to all things surrounding. The view is outstanding. While maintenance/upkeep/comfort are around average, the five star location and views make it exceptional.
