We had a great time in Maui -- snorkeling, boogie boarding and being at the beach. The kids loved the pool at the resort. The beaches were awesome as we went to several of them. Shopping in Wailea was alot of fun as was the local marketplace in Kihei. The luau we went to was well done and better than the one we had seen previously. I was disappointed in the room amenities-- other condos had boogie boards, beach towels,etc to use. We had to bring or rent all of that. I would definitely pay more money a night to stay in a more kept up condo.

I felt that the space was very well equipped. The DVD player did not work, possible electrical wiring problem, too stern anti smoking regs. Grounds were quite pleasant, pool was nice, staff was friendly, unit was well set up for longer term stays.

For the big build up we got, I feel we were let down when we got our accomodations. The staff was friendly, but our room ended up overlooking the parking lot at the far back of the complex. When I asked if we could get some sort of view I was told it would cost an additional $50 a night! So, we looked at the parking lot for 3 days :( Our bed was awful ( having stayed at top knotch accomodations in the prior days of this vacation) we found the bed worse than a salvation army reject - flat, short, hard and lumpy. It squeaked loudly every turn over we made. The living room furniture was pretty, tropical wicker, but not comfortable for a sofa. We killed a million tiny bugs around the sink in the kitchen and was told by the management, "Oh those....everyone has them". No maid service comes with this room either without a $45 daily additional fee. No smoking even on your big patio outside....you must go to a bench marked "smoking" in the center of the complex. Not terribly convenient in your pajamas with your nightcap cocktail. but the number of people at the bench let you know there was standing room only there, regardless of time of day. We spent most of our time touring the island, but still, coming back to this room was very discouraging.

I enjoyed staying at Kamaole Sands. The hotel was clean and the rooms were very spacious. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath room and we had everything. There were beach chairs, coolers, extra pillows, etc. in the room for use. The pool and spa was nice and clean and there are security there to monitor the kids so that they dont get out of hand. However when we first arrived our room was NOT READY. The checkin time was at 3:00 pm and we could not go inside our room. I didnt like this because we had a show that we had to catch and we wanted to leave our bags in the room and take a quick shower before going. Not only is the check in time too late but the check out time is at 12:00 so there should not be any excuse as to why the rooms are not ready unless they didnt have enough room cleaners. I dont know! And also some people in the front desk were unwelcoming and unfriendly. They seemed preoccupied with other things and talking with each other rather than providing great customer service. Other than that I was happy I stayed at Kamaole Sands. The only other problem is that it is a far drive however I think it is worth it especially since the scenery is pretty good.

For our family who came to play a tennis tournament in Wailuku, it was the perfect place. Having a full kitchen, washer dryer, and the courts to practice on were terrific!

We recently stayed at Kamaole Sands along with several other familes while on Maui for our daughters wedding. Our ground floor garden view condo was great to enjoy the garden area. An evening cocktail on our patio was a perfect end to our day. The pool area was quite nice with plenty of space in the hot tubs. There were several broken items in our condo such as mirrors, clocks and fixtures. It appeared to need a little TLC. The televisions in the condo were old and did not have working remotes. Since we didn't spend a lot of time in our condo this wasn't a big deal however. Our bed was a bit uncomfortable and the bedding had seen better days. We were able to leave our car behind a ttimes and walk to the beach, dinner and shopping since the Kamaole Sands has a great location. A quick walk across the street to the beach provided some beautiful sunset views during our trip. The service and staff at the property were great. Check in and check out were a breeze, which is not always the case when staying at condo's on Maui. We would definately stay at the Kamaole Sands again.

We recently had a week's stay at Castle Kamaole Sands. Gotta admit, the location is a perfect hideaway and directly across the street from the beach in Kehi. Staff did their job well ie help, cleaning, booking events and responding to questions. I do think the pool was rather small for such a large resort and there really is no island view unless you have one of the upper level rooms. There were many places to eat and shop within walking distance and overall, for the price, it would be hard to beat.

We would definitely stay here again. This is a great place for a very reasonable price. We had reserved a unit with a garden view. But when we checked in, we were told, due to the lack of availability of those units, we had been upgraded to a room with a partial ocean view. At no extra charge, who were we to argue? In this day and age, that is great customer service. The unit itself was ideal - clean, well-supplied, comfortable, and nicely decorated. We even had beach towels, beach chairs, and an umbrella, which we haven't found to be the case in other places we've stayed while on Maui. (This particular unit didn't have a DVD player but that was not a "must have" on our list.) Everything was in working order. It didn't take us long to feel "at home." The location is great if you're an avid beachgoer since this place is right across from Ka'amaole III. But don't miss the pool area! It's has a regular pool, two regular jacuzzis and a family pool/jacuzzi. There's also an exercise room, a covered area if you want to get out of the sun, and even a "library" from which you can borrow books. Don't miss Mai Tai Wednesdays, when drinks (non-alcoholic too) are served poolside along with live Hawaiian music and hula. Also, if you want to barbeque, there are areas on the grounds to do that. But plan to stake out your spot early - they fill up! We definitely plan to stay here again.

I traveled with a seven year old and 10 month old along with my mom and sister. The condo was great. The pool was refreshing. The first morning of your stay they have a continental breakfast and a representative to give you info on the island with things to do. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pans, utensils. They had coolers to use and toys for outside as well. The pull out bed from the sofa wasn't too comfortable but the bed was great. I shared with my mom and 7 year old and slept fine. Couldn't feel them move.

This was a decent deal for a condo with all the trimmings; appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms (for a one-bedroom condo), and washer/dryer. Would give it 3.5 stars if possible. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the grounds were beautiful. There was some dirt in the corners and on ledges. The bedroom bedside lamp had a broken switch. The hair dryer mount in one bathroom was hanging off the wall. Interior paint could use minor touch-ups. There was a VHS player in the living room but no DVD (these condos are owner furnished, so your experience may differ). Overall, not bad and well-located.

Condo unit was beautiful with all amenities needed. $15 resort fee undisclosed! Hotel and grounds were beautiful...front desk ok but couldn't help us get our luggage to our room. Not too friendly

and has been. but this time I didn't book directly with the condo but created a package on a online travel agency. I think because of the package deal I got the lowest of low selections- absolutely no view, with a driveway of the neighboring condo complex just behind our lanai. Which meant much noise and traffic. It is the first time in 3 stays at this complex that we didn't spend any time on the lanai. If you have a choice- don't get building 8 or 9. also the wi-fi doesn't work in those buildings- but they have wired instead. - all for a daily fee. I appreciated that they now have daily trash take out service and towel replacement (if you desire, but think environmentally here) Our condo in particular needed the entry screen door realigned- it wouldn't shut without much tugging and shifting. The grill nearest our building needed cleaning and the picnic table seat was broken. My 160 lb husband sat on it and promptly crashed to the ground. Good thing that it wasn't Grandma. The cooking supplies in the condos are very basic. No plastic baggies or aluminum foil. The service personnel are very friendly and helpful. The common grounds, pool, and gardens are nice. I might give this complex another chance- but will be more choosey when it comes to buildings. We did give the feedback form to the front desk with the noted fixes - proof will be for someone else to report. The location across from Kam III beach and very close to the boat ramp and shopping is a plus.

After reading previous reviews we were a bit apprehensive for our stay here, but we were either very lucky or the management of this condo resort has read them too and acted upon them. The condo we stayed in was in building 10, number 106, which has partial ocean view (from the Lanai and living room) and I have to say it was absolutely wonderful! The 1 br, 2 ba condo with full kitchen, dining area and living room was very well maintained and nicely furnished and decorated and well stocked with utensils, blankets, pillows etc. It was clean and really made us feel comfortable. This particular condo even had beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards and sand toys for kids. The owners of this unit even provided us with free internet access to stay in touch with family and friends and upload pictures and print directions etc. The staff of this resort was very friendly to us, both at the front desk as well as house keeping and maintenance staff we ran into on the beautifully maintained resort. Right across the main Kihei road, there are several white sandy beaches and only a few steps into the water small coral reefs can be found with an abundance of tropical fish. This location is far enough from shopping and dining areas to avoid major tourist crowds, yet close enough to get to everything within minutes. The resort fee that was mentioned by others is just a one time fee of 15 for access cards to the resort and it was certainly no problem for us. Especially for the price, this was an excellent stay and we recommend this resort to small families and couples.

bery nice and quiet but needs kind of programs where to participate, like some amenities and places where to go from the resort or activities because everithing is to expensive and poor quality.
