A Delight in Dublinthis hotel which is ideally situated in central Dublin was quite simply a delight. The staff and owner were friendly and attentive. The room was attractive, clea, tidy and comfortable. The hotel contributed greatly to a very enjoyable break in Dublin and I would have no hesitation in saying I would choose it for future stays in Dublin.

Castle HotelFirst time at the hotel and a decent stay. The room was very clean if a bit small and the breakfast was excellent. The central location of the hotel is ideal and the staff were friendly enough. We booked for the Oasis concert and ,as a result, the prices were probably a little high. For me,it should fall in the £60-70 a night bracket rather than the £110 a night charged for that weekend.Overall,no real issues but I would probably try somewhere a bit different if visiting Dublin again.

Poor serviceOn arrival receptionist very cold and not welcoming, when querying the fact that we had to pay prior to even seeing room the response was that it was company policy in a very matter of fact style. On arrival at the room it was clear that the bed had already been slept in despite the fact that a couple of chocolates had been place on the pillow as if it had all been changed. After complaining they did change us to another room saying they didn't know how it had happened! A lazy cleaner I feel. Receptionist staff did not acknowledge you as you passed them-a poor experience overall.

Condition of roomRoom needed redecorating and was very dated. Also with the proximity of other rooms looking into the window of the room I occupied, it desparately needed net curtains or similar as the only way for it to be private was to pull the curtains which is not very pleasant in the daytime.

Centrally located, close to several attractions and to transit system. Staff at reception were not as friendly as I expected they would be. Gentleman working in the bar and the ladies who served breakfast were very nice. Room was very comfortable, clean and recently updated. My room faced the courtyard where guests sat drinking until the late hours. Even with a closed window, the noise was disturbing. Very good value for the money and would definately stay again.

One night in DublinPleasant city hotel. Useful on - site car park available. Very clean throughout. My bedroom was in new wing offering en suit shower room, tea/coffee making but no fridge or safe. Easy 10-15 minute walk down O'Connell Street to Templebar where all the the bars and restarants are located.

Friendly hotel, good value overallReception lady was extremely welcoming and helpful, as were the staff in the breakfast room. Unfortuntaly my friend was pickpocketed while in a bar during our stay, but the hotel staff were both sympathetic and helpful - unlike the Garda who didn't show too much interest beyond logging the incident. No problem at all with cleanliness, room facilities or value for money in comparison with other central Dublin hotels. The breakfast was good on the first two days, but on the Sunday morning the quality of the bacon left something to be desired (somewhat leathery and hard) as did the service, which was a little slow (although still extremely courteous). I think this due to the sheer voulume of people taking breakfast at the same time.

Nice hotel, situated at the top of O'Connell Street, within easy distance to all of Dublin's sites.

Castle Hotel - mixed ReviewOn arrival, the two individuals on reception were very curt, disinterested and minimal eye contact. Definetely not the usual warm, generous warm Irish welcome I would normally expect. They seemed to have a problem with giving us a double room despite a clear booking and asked us again 'double or twin room'. We reiterated that we wanted a double room but were still given a twin. Neither of us were in the mood to argue as we just wanted to get on with our break.Other than this occasion, reception were extremely courteous and friendly as we never encountered the same individuals again.Room was comfortable, clean and quiet despite facing onto a busy road. Breakfast was excellent but avoid the 10am rush. It is a lovely Georgian building and was well maintained. Other than hiccup at the start it was an enjoyable stay.

Our room and bathroom weresmall but quiet, spotless, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was fine, papers are provided free, and the staff there are busy and charming. There aren't really any attractive common parts so it's B&B and out, which suited us fine for this stay. The reception staff were very friendly once they warmed up but inexplicably needed to be approached first - a welcome smile as you walk in would be an easy improvement.

Limited carparking and poor customer serviceAfter standing outside the wrong entrance waiting for someone to respond to the bell - which i can only guess didnt work, we finally found the right entrance - only to be greeted by staff who were neither friendly or helpful. The main reason we chose this was due to the fact they stated car parking available on site. But when we arrived we were told the carpark was full and we would have to park on the street, paying 7 euro per hour and limited to 2 hours at a time, until a parking spot became available .... which was not likely to happen before they locked up for the night. Upon investigation we found there were maybe 5 or 6 parks and even if one became available it was going to cost 20 euro per day. So instead of a relaxing wander around Dublin we were left wandering the streets to find a car park that we could leave our car for the next 2 days. The rooms were spacious and clean, but the walls were very thin and we could clearly hear the couple talking in the next room - which lasted all night as they had a movie marathon.

Weekend breakGood hotel, but loud shouting until 3am on one of the nights we stayed there. Lovely breakfast and offered tea and toast when we had to leave for an early flight. Reception staff very helpful.

Well worth itI stayed for 2 nights. Arrived very early the first day but was allowed into my room upon arrival at 10am. Stayed late-ish the last day but could leave my luggage in dedicated lockable room. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast was a good choice and enough to feed an elephant. The location is excellent, very central yet quiet. I only used the bus to get to the airport, all the other tourist attractions can be reached comfortably by foot. Would stay again and would recommend to my mum. ;)
