The Hostal Casillas is located in the centre of Madrid near all the city's most famous sites. It is walking distance from the Puerta del Sol, the epicentre of the Spanish Capital where natives and visitors gather. Near here is the Plaza Mayor, with a rich history including bull fighting and some dark moments from the Inquisition, contrasted by today's outdoor cafes in this beautiful sunny enclosure. The Royal Palace is also walking distance where you can see how Spanish royalty lived (King Juan Carlos lives in the smaller Zarzuela palace today). The best shopping and night life are all just steps away: shopping on Gran Via for the high rollers and on Fuencarral for the hipsters, all styles of night life from gay to punk, to bohemian to electronic, can all be found without having to take taxis.
