My husband and I were at the Casa Marina for our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were friendly, the food was great, and the drinks were plentiful. The only complaint that we can offer is that each jacuzzi that we went to while we were there (I think there were 3 or 4) were EXTREMELY cold.

Staff should be a little more friendlier.

The Hotel was not clean the rooms had too many problems to list, when I contacted the front desk to kept brushing me off. I would never stay there ever again nor will I recomend anyone to stay there. The room had roaches, the front door lock did not work, the bathroom sink leaked. TV did not work properly, Mole, bed bugs, We were there for 11 days and only changed the sheets once.I would like my money back.

If you are with your family and don't mime the same food over and over this is the place for you. The Air condition went out daily. If you want late night drink even water you are out of luck. No vistors in the hotel at all unless you pay $60 extra per day. The food only change on mondays. After a few days I went to another hotel. The Hotel is Ok but not for the single guy. Family Ok If you like the same food and AC problems

We had a very nice stay for the money. I was not expecting a lot since I did not pay a lot. Over all the trip was nice. I did not like the fact that they only give you one key to your room (which controled the electric when you were in your room) The staff was very friendly. The shows were nice. I did not like the fact that the bars shut down at 11 on the resort. (and the watered down wiskey). But over all it was a nice getaway.

We had a wonderful time here. The rooms do need some repairs and we had some mosquitos bugging us the last night we stayed, but other than that we really enjoyed ourselves and the staff was friendly. The ocean and breeze from the reefs were great. You get a lot for your dollar at this resort.

in 2008. it was great! now 2009 their are less activities, the service at restuarants with reservations, not good. the rooms were only thoughly cleaned once, not enough for a week

this was our 4th visit to Casa Marina Beach and probably our last. they no longer have a kids club,or and entertainment crew @ the pool. The food was horrible our room was cleaned once and then for some reason they never serviced it again everynight we had to complain. One night sitting in the buffet area playing cards we saw a rat and roaches. On another night @ 9pm we where told we couldn't eat. the buffet closes @ 10pm but they decided to prepare for morning early and didn't want us to dirty the tables. We do not recommend this hotel at all.

The hotel grounds were beautiful. The pools and hot tubs were in great areas to watch the beautiful sunsets. The beach area is huge. Clean beach with beautiful waters. Also, there is another beach next to the hotel you can swim at. The food was excellent. They cooked with the produce grown in their country. Lots of squash, potatoes, and fresh fruits everyday. Great chicken served with beans and rice. Very good buffets. The room was very basic. They need to upgrade the bathrooms badly. Most rooms have a beautiful view of the beach and pools. Maids came and did a good job cleaning the rooms daily.Only thing bad about this place is the hotel staff in the check in area. They are very rude. [...] Other than that things were good on our trip.

THE ROOM IS VERY SMALL. MY ROOM'S DOOR WAS BROKEN AND IT TOOK ME TWO HRS BEFORE I CAN GET ANOTHER ROOM. THE HOTEL CHARGE ME EXTRA $20.00 us DOLLAR FOR NO REASON AND FRONT DESK PERSONNEL ARE NOT FRIENDLY. I WILL NEVER STAY AT CASA MARINA AGAIN.

The location is great, right in the center of down town Sosua. The beach, food and staff are all good. The rooms could use a face lift. For the price it is a great value.Infact,I will be going back in May.

The one major draw back was the dilapitated condition of our room. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling allowing bugs-very large bugs- to enter the room, bathroom was grubby, with dirty molding around tube and falling down light fixture.

ok let me start trick with the air acondicioner. they give u one room key , with the key u have to start the air acondicioner.so after check in go ask to the front desk for other key invent something like my friend have the other key they give u one key that works just for one enter. now put that key in the air acondicioner and buala air acondiconer on all day long lol. cuz it takes like 2 hour to get cold trust me left the key it is hot. the best vacation i ever had, nice food becarful i got 8 extra pound , try to get the sea food. they have mexican, sea food, italian, and 2 buffets niceeeeeeee. and the best free drinks try the mama juana make u very tipssy, people are ver nice they always make u feel great in a natural way no like other places, safe, a lot of motorcicles but don't be scare they're cool i took a trip around in a taximotocicle nice . very cheap. if u want to get massages go aoutside u get good ones for 10 dollars in the spas they have like 10009955 a lot inside the hotel 25 dollars but they are good too. if u are hot go to the jaccuzy i know sound wird but they are cold and i love them. the shows are nice . try to get involve with them and u can have more fun, ok the disco inside is good but not that good , so after the show get drinks remember after 11 they start charging the drinks but cheap. and then go to cabarete it is jus like 18 minutes from the hotel it is not dangerous and it is like a lot of people , beatiful women huge u can go from bar to bar no cover in front of the beach. the best place there. just take a taxi i asked the front dessk and he said it was dangerous so that friday i stayed in the hotel , next day he still there and it was just a negative person that think everytihng is bad bitter the onlyone because everybodyelse is nice the next day i went god the best time great place food everytihng. don't change money in the aeroport wait they accept dollars and are more value in the hotel save some water for them towel , fresh water a

The Casa Marina Beach and Reef resort was VERY beautiful! The ocean view from our room was so comforting and relaxing. The room was cleaned daily to our satisfaction. There was plenty to do inside the resort, so there was no need to go into the city at all. A small store on both sides of the resort provided basic needs froom Qtips to toothbrushes to snacks and gifts. Entertainment was provided every night as well as a small disco for nighttime entertainment. there were five restaurants inside the resort. Three restaurants that required reservations and two open buffets for meals as well as an array of food fashioned after several countries. The staff was very helpful and friendly whenever we needed assistance. The television displayed programs in spanish and english. And while the remote did not work the whole time, our excursions through the small mountain towns made us appreciate the fact that there was a tv at all and we did not mind getting up to change the channel! The country is beautiful and I would definitely recommend taking a tour through the city. There were 3 pools and two beaches at the resort which were beautiful.

Overall I was very satisfy with my stay at Casa Marina Beach/Reef resort. I mostly like the central location of the Resort in the town of Sosua. Walking distance to everthing is a plus...

This hotel had one of the best food that I've had while in Puerto Plata. The staff seemed very friendly. The pool and beaches were clean. The resort had a club that opened at 11pm, the music is great but you have to pay for drinks. Drinks are okay but they are very cheap in putting alcohol on them, your best bet is drinking tequila or beer. I went with a group of friends we had fun but our only complain is that there is no air-conditioner in the rooms. They might tell you its cold air coming in but its a fan and in the heat its not as cool as you would want it to be, so prepare to sleep with no sheets.
