Going to Mexico can always be an adventure, but after traveling to Cabo for the first time, I was really happy with my choice. Casa Dorada has beautiful rooms with beautiful views of the ocean. The onsite food we had was good and the drinks were very inexpensive. As a first timer, the location was great. It is right behind the restaurant "The Office" and Mango Deck and a short walk to the marina/mall/restaurants. I would recommend walking to Mi Casa for dinner. It is a bit past Cabo Wabo (10-15min walk) and the food is killer. As a pre honeymoon, this place was a great getaway. They were also not over the top on the timeshare stuff. They only asked a couple times if we wanted to attend a breakfast and were very polite when we said no thank you. I would definitely return in the future. Only advice...arrange travel before getting there. It is a bit overwhelming when you first leave baggage claim. There are a bunch of people claiming to have transportation to your hotel. They just want to get you to go to a timeshare talk in exchange for a free ride. There are a lot of options, but I would just go in the shuttle. It is not worth the extra money for a private taxi. ($15 per person vs $40) It doesn't save that much time.

The hotel was in a perfect area, very close to everything. However our friends who came with us approved of the room though the girl who was at the front desk who helped them was not very friendly or helpful from the time we came. At first they told them they were upgraded and their room would be ready soon then called us and told us their room was next to ours and the keys would be right up but after an hour no one came so we had to go get the keys and to come find out their room was on the other side of the hotel no upgrade was given and their room had nothing which was said to be in it. Also, don't save your chairs in the morning if your not going to stay in them because after about 20 min they do a swept of all the towels and your belongings with it. Just make sure when you check in everything that is said happens. Everyone in the hotel was very nice and helpful except this one girl. I do recommend this hotel because we had no problems but if your traveling with friends try to make sure everything that is said to happen, happens.

It is just a beautiful new hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. You have a view from every room. We were very happy with our choice. Its located to close to Marina.

This place is beautiful. Huge suites overlooking Medano beach. Highly recommend the 1 bedroom suite. The rooms are spotless and service was 5 star. All employees went out of their way to take care of us. Food was good but a little pricey. No high pressure timeshare sales pitches either. They asked us a couple times and that was it. If you want a hotel with the best location in Cabo, this is it. the two most popular beach bars sit in front of the hotel. You are close to downtown but we took a 6 dollar cab ride anyway. Cant beat Casa Dorada!

Casa Dorado was a lovely hotel. Everyone was extremely friendly, and our room was exactly what we requested - a deluxe suite overlooking the bay. I think there was a stepped up effort being made by the hotel staff to assure first-class sevice - and there were people who came around frequently to inquire if everything was ok. Since I was travelling with my daughter, we didn't get approached for the time-share presentations, but it was apparent at breakfast that every couple was being solicitated - something I wouldn't have wanted. Notwithstanding prior reviews to the contrary, we thought 12 Tribes was one of the best places we ate. We also enjoyed our dinner at The Office, which is right next door on the beach. No complaints at all - a beautiful and restful vaction in a lovely place.

We usually stay at a nearby resort. We tried Casa Dorada. It was very nice- the only thing is the floors in the rooms get covered in water if you dont keep your a/c cranked supposedly. Must be condensation they said. We had to change rooms it was so bad. But they did updrade us so that was super cool. That was our only complaint. We would highly recommend this resort. :)

Was a very nice hotel and excellent location. [...] was extremely freindly and willing to help and do what it took to make the stay comfortable, fun, and made great suggestions on what to do, and where to eat. Was a very nice and relaxing trip, will definitely go back.

Nice brand new resort. Had a wonderful time! Just one thing- if you have the a/c on in your room, keep your slider closed! Floor gets wet from condensation...

The hotel was beautiful and very well maintained. Someone was constantly trying to see to your needs. We spent most of the time around the pool, but the beach was nice. The only annoying thing about the location was all the people trying to sell you stuff on the beach. You couldn't walk ten feet (literally) without someone approaching you to eat in a restaurnat, buy a drink, buy jewelry, shirts, you name it. They would just follow you around. I never saw anyone buy anything, but they wouldn't be there if they never sold their wares. There are plenty of places nearby to eat and the food at the pool was great. They were having two for one drinks everyday we were there around the pool. There were not many people in Cabo because of the swine flu scare, so we probably didn't get a true sense of what the town is like.

Even though this is a hotel still in their "soft opening phase" (their opening date varies based on who you talk to) they still have MANY kinks to iron out. It was our honeymoon and even though the reservation staff and I discussed this - the staff never acknowleged it during our stay. Our first room had no shower curtain or shower rod and the A/C was not working well. Their solution was to ignore the A/C and thubtack a shower curtain up for us (which kept falling down). It was not until we relented to the high pressure tactics and attended their timeshare presentation that our shower curtain was fixed despite multiple pleas from us. On day 4 our A/C stopped working at all. Despite calls from us and the maid we finally had to demand to be moved. No one helped us move either. My husband had to go and get a cart and then move ourselves. Also - friends of ours had their shower light fixture leak and eventually fall in. The pool was being retiled (because there were so many missing tiles) and a worker cut his hand. They left the pool of blood and blood trail there all afternoon without cleaning it up. One of the light fixtures in the pool was loose (DANGEROUS), and another couple told us their A/C unit fell out of their ceiling. I would be very carefu about staying or purchasing here. Looks nice on the outside - but there is a reason the rates are so reasonable.

The hotel was awesome, the rooms were amazing with great views, thought it was clean and all around just perfect. We were upgraded to a one room suite and i suggest anyone coming here to get one. The staff especially [...] at the B bar were amazing and nice. The service outside on the beach was great too! All in all perfect hotel and perfect trip

We needed a relaxing vacation which we got at Casa Dorada excellent facilities staff were very helpful and tentative, the maids ensured our room was immaculate every day and we were intrigued which animal was going to be shaped out of the towels , very cute touch. The location of hotel is great for parties at mango deck or just to relax at pool to be served cocktails and appetisers. The center of town is a short stroll away through the new shopping mall past the marina.

It was a family vacation with our 10 year old daughter, so the junior suite was a great size. The view and the location was great as we walked into town and Marina for our culinary adventures. The hotel restaurant food was not worth its price. The service is lacking as their focus is on selling timeshare. We skipped the whole painful experience, not worth the discount on drinks and activities they promise you.

The hotel is awesome! We spent nine days there. The location is perfect and so is the staff. I would never stay anywhere else in Cabo. It is really that simple. We traveled with no kids but it is a family friendly hotel. Eat at Edith's, Mi Casa (Authentic), "Trailer Park" the one on the right as you leave the hotel, Ole Ole (Sea Bass was incredible) in the marina, The office. The only place that had bad food was Mango Deck. we were told but tried it anyway. However, it is a crazy place.

The hotel itself is beautiful and great location for walking to the Marina and town. It's right at party central so there's lots going on right on the beach. The major partying stops at 11:00 and it's quiet after that. We were not impressed with the service at such a high end resort. We ran out of hot water and had to take cold showers twice. There was no coffee in our room after the first day. We were told by staff not to drink the water in the hotel, but the ice machines were filtered. One day, after our room was cleaned, the door was left open. This was our first trip to Cabo and while the hotel room was beautiful and clean, we will try a different spot next trip.

Our entire family loved Casa Dorada. The location, style and beauty of the resort is impossible to beat. Our teenage son enjoyed the relaxed pace and all guests seemed to be having a great time, while quietly respecting each others space. I can see why people purchase time shares here. Casa Dorada is beautiful. Loved the fact great restaurants are on the beach, steps from the hotel. Watch happy hour at Mangos. Order one drink and two come your way. Great time and the views are spectacular. Our friends are traveling to Cabo this month and we have recommend Dorada or Playa Grande. Both resorts are outstanding and we can not wait to go back.Note - Timeshares are huge here and cabs will cost you $60 one way if you have not booked ahead. I'll need to look into ground transportation from airport to hotel in the future, however once at either resort you can then walk everywhere. Smiles and Happy Travels.

Casa Dorada was a beautiful hotel. The location is great. Steps from Medano Beach and several restaurants. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were spotless and ranked it the top 5 I've ever stayed. We had a kitchenette, jacuzzi, seperate room with couch, tv, etc. Only one restaurant, we had there breakfast buffet. It was good, but not great. I would recommend this hotel and I would return.

We stayed here in Mid-September, and found the location to be excellent. The hotel is new, but has some ongoing niggling issues such as one elevator down the entire time we were there, as well as landscaping modifications that prevented us from enjoying the spa and fitness center(jackhammering over head). We did get treatments, but they were performed in a guest room. Service at the pool was slow, and ineffecient. Beach service was equally slow. No coffee to be found anywhere on property with the exception of the restaurant...It was regular coffee not any of the fancy stuff my wife likes. Room service was quick and fairly priced. Enjoyed our stay!

The Casa Dorada Hotel was beautiful. It's right in the middle of everything. Mango Deck is right in front of the hotel. The marina is a couple blocks away and downtown (nightlife) is within walking distance also. Service was great from the beginning of my stay to the end. Everybody from the bell boys to the concierge were very kind and corteous. Concierge helped arrange all the activities we wanted to do at Cabo. Room is very clean, bed comfortable, beautiful terrace with beach front view. Room service food was good and affordable. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Time shares are available for this hotel also.
