Description: Casa del Ficus is a private villa set in lemon-groves a short distance from the sea (1,5 km) and from Mount Etna, situated in Guardia Mangano, on the outskirts of Acireale (CATANIA). A few hundred metres away is the centre of Guardia where all the main services (supermarket, chemist, newsagent, post-office etc.) can be found. The railway station, with its frequent connections north to Taormina and Messina and south to Acireale and Catania, is just 300 metres from the house. The Giarre exit of the motorway is 4 kilometres away.Catania international airport “Fontanarossa”, can be reached in about 30 min. by car or train.
The part of the house used by guests has recently been modernised in rustic style using typical sicilian materials; the rooms enjoy a private bathroom and, on request, also a kitchen. The guests can use their own separate entrance, a parking space in the large courtyard, not to mention the 350 sq mts of garden with its own furniture for those moments of total relaxation
Our B&B is in Guardia Mangano, a small town in the district of Acireale (Catania) at the foot of Mount Etna, about 20 km north of Catania.
It is easy to reach from the nearby A18 Catania - Messina motorway.
This is a geografically strategic position.
From here it is easy to reach the splendid "Riviera of the Lemons" only 1.5 km away, with its typical sicilian fishing villages S.Maria La Scala, S.Tecla, Pozzillo and Stazzo; and also the wonderful "Cyclops Riviera" with its old fishing villages Acitrezza and Acicastello, famously written about by Verga in his "I Malavoglia".
Taormina, Giardini-Naxos and the nearby "Gole" of the River Alcantara, all tourist attractions known all over the world for their natural beauty, are just a twenty-minute drive away.
This whole scene is dominated by the awesome shape of Mount ETNA rising up in all her majesty. The north and south faces can be reached easily in little more than half an hour.

Transportation: Leave the motorway A18 CT-ME at the Acireale exit. Follow the directions for the S.S.114.Drive towards Messina until you reach Guardia. At the traffic light, follow the sign for MARE or Stazzo. After going through a small tunnel under the railway line,via Guardia-Stazzo will be on the right
