Like a star in the night sky , Hotel Casa Cuitlateca sits on the highest point overlooking Zihuatanejo bay. This Unique five-room boutique hotel is reached bya swaying suspension bridge, but there are also steps wandering through the gardens and up to the main reception area. Three of the bedrooms are in the main house sharing a comfortable lobby. Child Policy: Must be 15+ of age to check-in Three of the rooms have king size beds and spectacular views to the ocean and the bay of Zihuatanejo. One the other two guestrooms has a queen size bed and air conditioning, the other has a 2 rooms one with a king size bed the other is a sitting room with a pullout couch and a private patio. The main area is comprised of a sundeck, dining area, kitchen, bar, and a stunning infinity swimming pool made of local small river rocks and surrounded by a tropical lily pond. On one side of the pool sits a palapa-shaded gazebo where you can while away the day without being disturbed.

Nearby point of interests are Playa La ropa-5 min walk from hotel, Playa la Madera- 3 min walk from hotel, Centro-15 min walk from hotel, Ixtapa- 20 min ride from the hotel and Zihuatanejo archaeological museum downtown area near Playa principal.

Casa Cuitlateca is a gorgeous property, very clean and beautiful in decor. The infinity pool offers a serene experience with a spectacular view of Zihau bay. The free daily breakfast is amazing! The staff take care of your every need, and are just delightful. This place feels like a private retreat, with only 8 guests max in the whole place. It would be the perfect romantic hideaway for lovers; although it was just as perfect for the mom/daughter trip that we took. Playa de la Ropa beach is just about a 5-10 minute walk, downtown about 10-15. If you're in reasonable shape, walking back up the hill to the casa is not too hard; or, take a taxi for 30 pesos. Having the view is worth it! We were in the smallest room which felt spacious; it had a fridge, safe, ceiling fan, and A/C (for which we were especially thankful!) fresh fruit in the room, daily maid service, robes & slippers, phone, bottled water, and other essentials like razor, bug repellant, lotion, shampoo, etc. There is a open air lounging area with TV, library, small poolside bar, and restaurant serving free breakfast daily, dinner by appointment only. The service here was impeccable and super friendly!

I would say that at the summer rates, this hotel is a great deal. People are often afraid to go to Mexico in the summer, but the weather was perfect. We've been to Zihua in the winter when it was even hotter! I think the daytime employees (cook and concierge) were fabulous. It was so nice to get up, walk outside and be able to order breakfast. No need to shower and get a taxi to town. The food was excellent. We did find a couple faults with the hotel: The management, although efficient, seemed to lack personality, warmth and hospitality. None of us even felt the desire to say hello when passing - nor did she. The main walkway is lacquered wood, and after a great rainstorm one afternoon, I stepped onto it and flew - landing on my tailbone and head. It would be better to leave this natural wood, but then we'd probably complain about slivers in our feet. In addition, many of the wood planks on the walkway were loose. On another occasion I was standing on the edge to look at the goldfish. The plank tipped up and I landed in the fish pond - no injuries other than having to wash my legs and feet, and of course the humiliation! Overall, I think it was a lovely property. I could have just stayed in the infinity pool for a week, having my husband bring me food and drinks. You can simply float on the edge and look out over the entire bay, over the beautiful property, and also enjoy the beautiful fish in the two level pond. It was a perfect place to enjoy our 20th anniversary, and I would recommend it to anyone. Just be careful on the walkway.

Casa Cuitlateca is a Shangrila. The grounds are gorgeous. It's a 5 minute walk to Playa La Ropa. It's 25 pesos for the short taxi ride to town. It's got 5 rooms that are all tiled, air conditioned and decorated with wonderful local Mexican art. Our room had a large balcony with a hammock and a beautiful view of Zihuatanejo Bay. There's a free computer for use at any time. There's always someone on hand to make you a drink at the bar or fix a meal of your choice on the deck. Also over looking the bay is the infinity pool. Late night swims were fantastic. Both my husband and I felt sad to say good-by to our new found family and will definitely be back.

This is a great place to relax and enjoy the Mexican sun and a pictoresque view. The hotel overlooks the beautiful Zihuatanejo bay. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We plan to come back!
