A cheap hotel if you're looking for a great location at a reasonable cost

Stag Do 2009Good accomodation. Good student feel to the bar attached to the hotel, with a magic button. No hot food at breakfast time, but what there was was well presented and nice selection of cereals and cold meats. Staff were very helpful. The hotel will take a deposit on the room on arrival in case of rock star tendancies. All in all comfortable.

found this hotel better than expected . Spy Bar a bit grotty but food very good value for money .

The breakfast, especially later on in the morning, is a little bit gross. Everything was hard from sitting under the heat lamps. My power also went off in my room several times, and eventually the front desk had to show me where the breaker box was so I could reset it myself. Other than those things, the room is large, the bed is okay, and the shower is hot. Would stay again.

Location was good. My room was directly above the noisy bar, so no point in trying to get an early night (at least it closed promptly at 11pm). The furniture in the quieter end of the bar / restaurant was stained, and just generally grubby. Although not an expensive hotel, I still would have expected more cleanliness. Staff were pleasant enough.

The room was far too hot, not a great start!! and i think every floor board squeeked which was very noisy as you could hear every step from upstairs!!

It was easy to find but it was very dated and needed decorating. It needed air conditioning installing. The toilet didn't flush properly. The window wasn't secure. It was very very noisy from people in the next hotel ALL NIGHT!!!!It was in a very good location but i won't be staying there again!!!!

A hotel for younger people in an area of lively bars. Sound proofing poor. However, the room was clean and pleasantly decorated.

The hotel was extremely noisy throught the night - perhaps it would be advisable for male parties to be situated in one area of the hotel. The room was equivalent to a Sauna even though the heating was off. Considering the price of the room we did feel it was very basic and not very comfortable. The only plus side was breakfast which was very nice.

Great hotel in a very upcoming trendy part of town but very noisy if you're wanting an early night. If you're out on the town its great and with a taxi rank bang outside the hotel easy to get a taxi

Noise level was at a very acceptable level and finished by midnight. This was quite is something given that the area and hotel was heaving with young people out to enjoy the end of their working week and the start of their weekend

Great value for money. Pleased with the 'stay' and the consideration given to guests who are NOT there to party.

Great location in Jesmond. Lots of shops and small cafes nearby. Close to the West Jesmond Metro Stop. Only about a 25-minute metro ride to the airport, about a 5-minute trip to Central Station. Bus stop right out front. Typical English breakfast with a few healthier options. Check-In wasn't until 2pm.

Room was nice and clean, however not for a relaxing time music was pumping out of goodness knows where from ten in the morning possibly the bar down stairs it was never ending. It was a lovely area to stay in and friendly staff just too much noise.
Date of Stay:
July, 2007
My only gripe was the room was way, way way too hot! I slept with the window wide open and on top of the blankets - and it was a cool 14c outside!! Wouldn't want to stay here if it actually was hot weather.
