The location of this hotel couldn't have been better. Step out the front door and you're right by the train station and in walking distance of all the best Glasgow has to offer. The room was nice and cozy while still spacious and the well-stocked mini-bar was a nice bonus. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and very helpful, whether we were searching for restaurants, buses, or recommendations on what to do and where to go. The Windows restaurant is not to be missed - at breakfast it is delightfully sunlit with an overview of the city, and the full Scottish breakfast is excellent. Overall, we had a great stay and will most definitely go back to the Carlton George next time we're in Glasgow. :)

With hardly any soundproofing between floors and to the ouside you do need their liquor cabinet to survive a quiet night even.

Highly recommended!Stayed for 1 night to see Bruce Springsteen. Got a really good deal. Opt for an executive room and you get access to the executive lounge with free bar!! Need I say more! Also complimentary min bar and decanters in room which was very large and airy. Bathroom could do with a revamp but no complaints.Breakfast in Windows restaurant was very nice and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Fantastic location particularly when Christmas shopping, ideal for dropping all the bags off and returning to the shops!!

Everything you'd expect from a 4star hotel, not a single bad thing to say. This hotel is very good, perfect location for exploring the city centre, clean and well maintained. The only gripe I did have was we had a fairly large gap at the bottom of the door and people could be heard in the corridor. Apart from that all was fine and we would definitely stay there again.

We were changed to the Radisson Hotel! We received a telephone call on the Friday (due to stay Sat) to say due to maintenance issues we had been transferred to the Radisson Hotel, Argyll Street. There were no problems with the check in, apart from not enough detailed instructions to reach the NCP car park used for this hotel. The hotel and room (we were upgraded to a business class room) were lovely. We were room only and had no food in the hotel, but what we saw priced was very expensive.

My Friend and I found the hotel unsatisfactory the rooms were very hot and stuffy we had no airconditioning and after complaining we were given another room .We were certain they knew the airconditioning was faulty why put guests in a room when something like that was not working ?,in the room we had the conditoner was very noisy and we ahd the worst nights sleep in the 4 weeks of our holiday! I would never stay there again.

We were robbed! This booking was made with the premis of twin king size beds and full scottish breakfast. The reality was a normal double bed AND A CAMP BED with a very saggy mattress - certainly not worth the nightly rate charged - no apology - just "we are very busy". The potato scones , tomatoes etc were all lumped in together at breakfast and breakfast items were not very warm. Not the best experience & I would not be tempted to stay here again despite central location.

The air conditioning/heating system was not working properly. The room was far too hot and stuffy and you could not open a window.

Hotel is very central, very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The free mini-bar in the room was great as the weather was very hot and the bottles of water were much appreciated. It is a pity that there is no lobby or lounge in which to sit -apart from the top floor lounge, which isn't available to all visitors. I had access to it on my previous visit, but not on this one and I am not sure why. All in all a great little hotel -very cosy and yet with very efficient A/C which we really needed this June.

June stay 2009I stayed at the Carlton George Hotel with my mum for 2 nights. We had booked a club room because of the extra trimmings advertised. Firstly let me tell you the negatives of our stay: The room was standard; no movies; no specialist toiletries; when asked for extra water it was to be charged to our room. Now for the positives: The staff are really friendly and make you feel as though you are really welcome and not patronising; the food is excellent and I would eat there all the time, very good for your money; the use of the lounge is great and it is a nice relaxing area with complimentary beverages including wine. I would stay there again but make sure that I book standard accommodation as the club/superior price is not worth its value.

Thought the hotel was very good. The mini bar is stocked (and complimentary). I wasn't too sure of the buffet breakfast that got a bit hectic. Lovely rooms and friendly staff.
