My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. We were supposed to stay for a week. We stayed for 2 days and left on the first available flight. When we got to the resort, the lady had told us she would give us the best room since it was our honeymoon. The first room we went to- which was supposed to be the best had a broken door, ants and roaches everywhere, 1 electrical outlet to where only the tv or refrigerator could be plugged up at one time. The bed was nasty and the tub had bad stains in it. The microwave was The second room was the same except for an added feature of someone else's pubic hairs on the bathroom towels. The third room had no amenities. It had a bed and a shower. No dresser, tv, nightstand.. nothing. So needless to say our first two nights were miserable. The staff was very rude and had a very bad attitude towards us when all we wanted was a clean room. We spent $1200. on this trip and cleanliness was not too much to ask. The pool had scum all around it, and the "restaurant" had all of 5 things on the menu. Overall, I don't see how this place is still open. All the pretty pictures online you will see, are all false advertisement. I even asked the lady where the resort in those pictures was... this place was HORRIBLE! Oh.. and it's not oceanfront.. it's across the street and in the ghetto.

Unable to get around, facility had no links to transportaton. There were no telephones or internet service. The rooms were small, ceilings were high and had cobwebs as well as dust on them. Bathrooms were stained and moldy. No beach access was available.

This was my second stay at this hotel. It was enjoyable. I like the friendly staff, short walk to the beach, and comfortable cozy rooms.

Negril is a wonderful town other than Ocho Rios. If I were to visit Negril again, which I do plan to do so, I would not stay at Caribbean Sunset Hotel, but another resort. There are plenty of resorts to choose from. The resort does not cater to their guests needs. The cost of the food was not reasonable, and they did not have any change. The upside to that is that there are other areas to eat near the town. One should try Rhodes Hall horse back riding tour. It was a pleasant experience and the driver is very friendly. THe room at Sunset was not great, but was not bad either.

The hotel is a 2 minute walk to town and about 5 minute walk to the beach. It was my second time staying there. The pool could have used to be cleaned a little this time. The service in the restaurant could have been better and the meal took a very long time. Being right in town you are just a route taxi ride away from anywhere on the beach or anywhere on the west end. The staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious with air conditioning and most with a refridgerator. Plan to stay at Caribbean Sunset again in the future.

some of the older rooms are very dirty and smelly, we had ocean view and had to ask for a room change. The lock on the door did not work, felt unsafe. There was no up-keep of the swimming pool, the water looked stagnant. The food in the resort was horrible. The newer rooms were small but at least they were clean and smelt better. The Staff was very friendly and accomodating.

The hotel itself is being upgraded. The staff was superb at the front desk. Our arranged driver [...] was outstanding. I would like to see the grounds look a little neater but overall it was not bad for the money...it was a good deal.

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. Great location, close to the beach and the town. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Good food and drinks. The prices are affordable. The room was clean and comfortable with beatifull view. We just felt like at home away from home. We really enjoyed our trip to Jamaica and definitely recommend the hotel to everyone I know. We'll come back.

i read every reveiw here b4 i went and i decided to make my own decision. its not that it was bad because it wasn't.. it was more that the pictures were very deceaving. the kitchen wasnt a kitchen it was a sink...there was no balcony..and the pool was closed until i said something then they decided to fill it. the game room was a joke..and frankly it was a motel in the center of town. no i will not be using this hotel again..i still had a good time though but thats because i make the best of any situation..liars they are!

The hotel was better than expected. Everything worked, got a safe in the room, check in was smooth, the bar and restuarant were a quiet get away when you needed it. The hotel is being worked on but is ok. The staff is friendly. The location for us was great. The store just down the hill sold everything. The beach was not a far walk and you had to go through the market to get to it but that was cool and interesting and overwelming all in one sometimes. The trip to Negril was great. Went with my girlfriend and 2 teen age daughters. Jump the cliff at Ricks Cafe its unbelievable and painful. Get a boat ride from the beach and go snorkelling and check out the caves and the Rockhouse and Ricks for Red Stripes. We had a car this time it was also fun and crazy at times. We had the best time for the most unheard of price.

I had read many reviews for this hotel and felt I was prepared for it (both good and bad), needless to say I was still shocked. From the minute we pulled into the "resort" I was wary. I can handle low budget travelling and I doubt I would go back here. First thing since I was meeting up with someone in Jamaica I did not book for 2 people because there was no way to without buying a second plane ticket. She charged me an extra $93 for a second person although online 1 or 2 people the price did not change. They wanted cash as they did not take credit cards. The only bright spot was that at noon our room was ready. We went to the room and fond that our king sized bed was really two twin beds pushed together, not neatly either and there were 2 headboards on the wall where the 2 twin beds would have been. There is a big lock box and small fridge in the room another bonus. A huge new television but it was directly in front of the mirror. The room had a nice balcony but the doors were just shutters no screens. The bathroom had a steady line of ants the entire time. The toilet was stained and looked dirty. The tub and sink drained very slowly. The shower was hot and had a lot of pressure, but the shower head was strange and did not flow properly. The room was a little funky when we first got there after a week it was bad. They changed the sheets and the towels on a daily basis but never cleaned the room. I mean we are at a beach by the end of the week there was so much sand that we had to keep a towel by th bed to wipe our feet before we got in. The pool was being drained and repainted so I can not really comment on it nd we never went to the bar or resturaunt. It is a shame because the location of this hotel is great from some areas you can see the ocean, but they need a major overhaul. On the surface the place looked nice but if you looked closely at anything you would see just how rundown it is. There was paint or stain spilled in our room all over the place. The bed too

this vacation was a learning experience for us, many are the reasons but the main ones are: the hotel pictures that view on the website are fakes getting to the said hotel is a totally a different picture. the rooms are run down, nasty dirty drapes covering slidding doors that badly needs cleaning, no mirrors in room, no bedside lamps, no phone in rooms no power outlet in bathroom, single power outlet in room, no closets, hotel needs alot of improvement. need to remove pictures from website and show hotel as is stop misleading travelers. this is the worst honey moon ever. the only good thing about this hotels is that the staffs are honest, hardworking, wiling to help and cater to your needs. as for management he needs a course in human communicaton skills he does not know how to greet his guests and communicate with them.

I have stay at this hotel before and had a very nice experience. This trip was a very bad experience for me and my family: first, they over book people and then sent us to there sister hotel which was very DIRTY and NASTY. Second, then they did not want to refund us because we choose to go to another hotel and not stay there. If if ever run into this problem just know they the hotel staff or management will not help you nor refund you.

My Husband & I booked at the Carribean Sunset Resort for 10 days. After 11 hours of flying we were ready for a shower and rest. The Hotel we booked did not have our room available, they sent us to their sister hotel, and when we got their the room was not ready. I did not appriciate the over booking of the Carribean Sunset Resort, and their very rude and laid back service. Customers that travel such distances should be acomodated & serviced. The cleaning was below standard. We had to beg for a second washcloth and towel daily. I would not recommend this hotel. Please upgrade and stay at a more reputable hotel.

We have always stayed at property on Cliffs and loved it there- so this was a big change not being right on the water...but for the price we actually enjoyed being right in middle of town by grocery, pharmacy, jerk chicken, taxis, etc. It had a cool view over the bay from the pool area. Had a nice cheap breakfast of coffee, plantain and callaloo every morn. for bout $4! The rooms were large and basic-not pretty- but who cares? The staff was real friendly and helpful! I would definitely return if the prices stay low! Micro and fridge in room was nice bonus.
