Liesure of tranquilityI have stayed at De Vere Carden park on numerous occasions for a relaxing break, for the excelent golf courses for my fiftieth birthday, on each of these occasions we thouroughly enjoyed our stay.On a recent visit i brought my daughter and granddaughter they both fell in love with the place.i have visited mnay other of the De Vere hotel groups from Scotland to Notingham we have always found the rooms a fair price clean the surroundings of a high quality. My only wish was that De Vere would sell a season ticket, we do visit on a regular basis our jobs are very stressfull, being psychiatric nurses we look for short comfortable breaks at a reasonable price.

On the whole our stay was quite pleasant, accomodation and pool facilities very good. However we were disappointed with the service and quality of the restaurant. A conversation between staff and ourselves prior to being shown our table stated that it was a special occassion ( our 35th wedding anninversary) however staff did not have the sensitivity to offer us a quiet corner ( which younger couples were using and there were spaces) and we were shown into the main dining area which was a bit noisy. Food was very mediocre and over priced for what we had, and we felt rather rushed between courses when it would have been nice to have a little space. I asked for asparagus which was on the menu but was told that they had run out. All in all we were disapointed with the restaurant and staff. The people at the next table were also complaining about the food being cold and this had to be returned several times before it was satisfactory.

strange vegetarian menugreat hotel generally and offers a huge range of activities for teenagers. My sons really enjoyed the quad biking and air rifle shooting on offer! There was really only one thing I found strange and thoughtless. The hotel were running a special set meal both weekends we stayed (1 week apart). the first weekend we mentioned that having just 1 veggie option for starter and main is fine - as long as they aren't the same thing. the vegetarian starter was a wildmushroom tart... and so was the main course! The receptionsit was very apologetic and promised to pass this on to the chef but when we returned the following weekend the menu was unchanged. Seems a bit thoughtless that's all! Otherwise very happy with the hotel and enjoyed both our stays there.

Could be betterOn arrival hotel looks fantastic, reception steff very friendly. We booked a family room for two adults and one 9 year old girl and a 7 yr boy room had two double beds only and was in a reletivly small space. The changing rooms for the swimming pool stank of urine which could be smelt while in the pool. If you want friendly bar staff then go elsewere the drinks are on the expensive side aas well. The resturant steff were completly cluless to what table had ordered what food and as there were only four tables god help them when it gets busy we ordered drinks as we sat down which arrived after our second lots of starters had come (the first ones were complety not what we had ordered) the food over all was verey good except ordering off the TDH menu when our mains arrived there was no veg which we were told after that you have to oder it off the a la carte menu it should be stated on the TDH menu or at least told to you when ordering your food. Putting this aside the hotel is in lovley surroundings with alot of activities for young and old

A fabulous weekendwhat a lovely suprise the hotel was, we intended to use it purely as a base to discover Chester but such was the amenities we never left the hotel and it's grounds. The beautiful weather helped but i would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Carden Park - 16/5/09 - DHI had stayed in Carden Park about 10 years ago and was back for a wedding in May this year. The hotel still looked impressive and the accomodation was very good. We only had room-service breakfast delivered to the room which was on-time and fine. There are 2 areas that I think could be improved:1. The reception staff are not overly friendly and you feel as though you are inconveniencing them by checking in and out.2. The Express check-out service in the room was not working which meant to-ing anf fro-ing between the room, car-park and reception.

Carden Park Weekend BreakThe staff were courteous and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with a Flat Screen wall mounted TV, access to Wi Fi, a huge comfortable bed, and a large bath in the bathroom. During our stay we did laser clay pigeon shooting, archery and used the gym and pool in the spa. The grounds were beautiful and we were able to explore Chester which is a short drive away. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing break.

Carden parkGreat value booking for a quality hotel but outside rooms in the courtyard area very tired and in need of refurb - overall, good value for money but those rooms are not what this sort of hotel should be using to advertise itself......

the hotel was absoultly fantastic; we were in the extention of the hotel but the room was excellent; its great for a romantic getaway or a relaxing break with the swimming pool and jacuzzi; the only thing tht was to complain was the price of the drinks.

I couldn't fault the service from the staff or the quality of the room.It may be a little finicky........., but there was no convenient socket to plug in the kettle at a convenient height. I had to put the kettle and tray on the floor......, which wasn't ideal. The power shower was excellent......, glad my skin stayed on!I have marked the food down purely on the snack I had in the Brasserie. What i ate was labelled a kebab, but was a cold weird cocktail on a stick of a piece of cheese, a tomato and a leaf! Bizarre! Not very appetising. That being said, I would stay again and would thoroughly recommend the hotel......., just don't ask for a kebab!Great location.

Family of four weekend away for Mothers dayVery hard to find the hotel, but the drive and the accomodation were very good. The reception staff were average - but those in the bars and restauruart and sport complex were excellent. The pricing was confusing as they overcharges and then reimbursed after putting the blame at Late Rooms door. Overall nice place and would stay again

wowhotel very good, service good, food very basic and expensive for the quality.value would have been good, but we were charged more then the price quoted and have to wait to see!! if we get a refund, as promised by late rooms?
