It was close to the beach. We were not in the main hotel building.

I know they renovated some of the hotel but they need to stepup on the rest. We had constant trouble with the door lock, the bathroom look like something out of the sixties with a tube just big enough for my grand child. The blanket had stains, we reported the door to the front office and got the old we'll get someone right on it speach. Located on the beach, not to fare "bye car" from the sites. Wasn't that bad, but I won't be staying there again.

room very nice and was as described. pool at towers very small. accessible larger pools were extremely crowded and never was a lounge chair available. restaurant/lounge not open most of time. first night a huge gift basket was stolen from room. maid commented on beer looking good, was offered one and took it. conversations with other guests: at 10:00 p.m. one night, maid just walked into room without being summoned, without knocking. maid told another guest that she was hungry and accepted sandwich and money from guest. the room itself was a very good value, though did not get maid service on the only full day we had there, i.e., no emptying of trash, making of bed, replacing of towels, etc. the hotel(s) were nice in appearance. the major flaw was the staff. at checkout time, had only one person at desk and was very slow as she was checking in a guest. the theft of my birthday gift basket from my brother (with a minimum of 100 value) the first night ruined the stay. safes are provided but gift baskets and other valuables do not fit in. in my opinion, caravelle needs to do something about its maid staffing. overall, i would not return to the caravelle.

If you stay at this motel, you better bring your mop, broom, towels, and linen. We stayed from Friday until Monday and the only time we got clean towel is when we called for them. the only time they came to clean the room is when we hadn't even completely got up for the day. When we did call for towels, we were asked are you the owners or friends of the owners? Of course we weren't because if we were we certainly wouldn't have paid as much as we did. The elevators are slow. The staff hold them on the floors they are working. There are so many buildings you end up walking a long way. The beach is great but of course they do not own the beach. For locaction if you want to spend your time driving or closer to big malls then this is the place for you. I for one will not be staying here again.

It was just steps away to the beach. We were in a building next door, not in a main building. Not luxury but clean and pretty comfortable. For the one night we stayed it was ok but I would not want to spend more nights there.

I booked this hotel thinking thatt the room would look like the picture. Boy was i wrong!! There are two buildings, the main building which is remodeled and this side building which is not. The building that isn't remodeled is nasty looks like a motel 8. The carpet was so dirty that we had to wear socks and put towels on the floor. The people that work there are rude. The pool was not clean full of hair floating around. I was very disappointed because I paid 150 dollars a night for a Hotel that sucked. The pictures had flat screen tvs, all we got was some crappy tv that hardly even came in. I will never stay there again. The Breakers is way better hotel and costs the same.

I thought this hotel would be better based on the reviews I read here. The Caravelle manages multiple timeshare and condo properties in addition to a small hotel on the beach. Quality among the properties they manage varies considerably so make sure you are familiar with each property before you book. Our first unit in the Sea Mark Tower was not ready as promised. When we finally got in the a/c did not work and the compressor sounded like it would blow at any minute. The room smelled horrible. They offered the unit next door, which also had a/c issues. Finally they "upgraded" us to a unit on the 8th floor, which had a/c and a fireplace but the front door locks didn't work and the door kept crashing open every time the wind blew! Maintenance could not fix it so we were sent across the street to the Carolina Dunes. The unit there was tastefully decorated, although in need of some cosmetic work, and the a/c worked fine. The pool area outside at the Caravelle Hotel is very nice and the kids enjoyed it. The indoor pool and hot tub at the Caravelle Hotel needs work. The sliding doors were corroded and pulled easily off the track. That whole area needed an overhaul. The restaurant, fitness center, ice cream parlor and gift shop were all very nice and the staff at the Caravelle, where ever we went, was very nice and helpful. We did have a great vacation but considering the spotty condition of the units I don't know if I would return. There are so many other places to stay they need to do more to stand out.

Upgraded room was very nice. Unhappy with original room-shabby carpet/hallways, room, check-in across the street, not enough parking. But staff was helpful in upgrading our room to the renovated section which was very nice-new looking.

I recently stayed at the resort for Labor Day weekend and miss it already. I am 23 and work at a busy law firm in Atlanta and wanted to get away for a few days to the beach and Caravelle, I found, was the best value. When I travel alone (which is often) I expect specific things at resorts and Caravelle had everything however there was a mistake on the online travel website. It failed to advise that the hotel had a check in age requirement of 25. On top of that they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee for their mistake! I could have easily made reservations at other hotels I have stayed at before in the area but Caravelle had everything I wanted. I called the hotel and spoke to the manager who immediately addressed my problem. She sorted everything out and allowed me to stay despite the age. When I arrived, I was amazed by the size of the room. Beautiful furniture and beautiful view. It was perfect for me to just get away for a few days and sit on the beach in solitude. With places to deliver food, pools, bar and the beach, I didn't even have to leave except to go see a few local attractions. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to get away alone, a couple or family. I believe the hotel was full but surprisingly, the rooms were very peaceful even if you have the side ocean views above the pools and they are wonderful ocean views! Thank you Caravelle Resort!

IWe really enjoyed our stay at the Caravelle Resort, the rooms was clean and the staff was friendly and would get what ever we needed. Oh, my the view was so lovely my sons and husband stayed in the pool all the time. The look on my kids face when they seen the ocean was like a dream. I'm planning another trip and I will be booking another stay in August for my birthday. I think that will be the best gift I can give myself. I will totally recommend anyone to stay at the Caravelle Resort

The hotel had a restaurant and lounge. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hot tub was not closed in. The hotel has upgraded and updated from the last time I stayed their about 4 years ago. I will recommend this hotel to a friends, single and with children.

Everything was great. The room was nice/neat, even new. Hotel pool was wonderful aswell. We walked back and fourth from beach to pool all day long. We will be back. A few things that would make the kitchen better; a pitcher and a mixing bowl.

It was okay for just one night. The room was musty. When we got off the elevators, a very old set of washer and dryers was there. The room was okay, but smelled bad. It is just a very old hotel. We stayed in the towers, but friends stayed in the hotel and said it was much nicer. It was okay for the price, but would not stay more than 1 night.

I've read other reviews and everybody has different opinions but for me, I had a great time. I was fortunate enough to get my room in the newly rennovated building. When I walked into my room and saw all of the features and how spacious it was, I was flabbergasted! It was a nice sized kitchen and had a nice living area which is next to the area where the dining area is. And the interior designs by where the beds are were very unique and the beds are in my opinion very comfortable. I was very tired when I first checked in and I layed down to take a nap and I was sleep within 5 minutes! In some other comments, people said that the staff and hotel workers were rude but they were nice and friendly to me and they trated me like a king. The location on the north end of the beach is in a very isolated area and it makes going out fun because there's hardly any traffic to be annoyed with commuting back and forth to your room. My only problems are that you have to be very careful when you are driving your car up and down the parking deck because there's not a lot of room to maneuver your car and my only other problem was in the bathroom where the toilet seat was old and was loose and wobbly. Other than that, it was a wonderful weekend getaway and it was worth my time and then some.

We've stayed at the Caravelle twice. Both times we stayed in the 3 bedroom condos. There is plenty of room for 8+, but if you're extra fussy, as we are, make sure you ask questions before you book. Our first experience was good and so we booked again for our next trip. The second trip was less enjoyable. All 8 of us, after having loaded the fridge with food and emptying our suitcases, had to relocate on our second night. The stove & appliances were in pretty bad condition which initially didn't bother us, but then other things seemed to be out of order. The twin bed in the front room was lop-sided making sleep VERY uncomfortable. The sink in the bathroom was leaking and to top it all off, the roof in our living area was leaking from the condo above. The Caravelle was very accommodating and moved us to a condo right next door. It was like day and night! Other than the smell of smoke, the condo was in great condition and very well cared for. We were compensated with free breakfast for the remainder of our stay, which was great. The breakfast buffet is awesome.

Stayed here while in Myrtle on Business. Great location with a view of the ocean (my room was on the side of the building, but I still had a great view.) Overlooked the awesome pool (it was a little cold to try it though)--they had a great kids area and a nice lazy river. Room included 2 doubles, kitchenette with small stove and full fridge, living area, murphy bed and bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Only downside was elevators--only 2 in the main area. Very slow and sometimes the wait time was rather long.

The hotel room looked very good. But deep down it was like someone polished over the ugliness and left out some parts. The beds were the most comfortable, great ocean view(from a side angle), and cute little kitchen with granite counters. The bad items were that the room is a lot smaller than it looks online. Bathroom was extremely small and the tub floor was wobbly(it lifted up when you stepped up) weird. Front desk was very rood and not helpful at all. We were having trouble with the DVD player and they hung up on my husband twice and never helped us. House keeping knocked like the police(okay overall). Parking in the day time was great we could park loser to the room, but when you go out at night it was difficult finding a parking spot in the lot across the street. I my self would stay at this hotel again. I liked the way it looked over all, there are just a few items that need to be looked at. An experience is not an experience unless you try it your self. I hope you try and have a great time at the Caravelle Resort.

My family and i had a great stay at this hotel. Bedrooms were clean, contemporary decorating, countertops were tasteful, updated/new appliances including a BIG plasma tv. The deck was bigger even for a 2 double bed oceanview efficiency room. The only drawback was no bath tub just a walk in shower. Due to the season, hotel was not full which allowed for us to have the spacious indoor pool (heated, very heated) all to ourselves for three straight days. We will continue to use this hotel for weekend getaways. The price was incredible. I can't wait to go during the summer to enjoy all of the shops that are on the bottom floor of the hotel and kids pool activities Thank you Myrtle Beach for something classy and family oriented.

A disappointment. I stayed in the towers and it was a sad looking building. The rolling luggage carts they provide were old and the one I used as I was leaving actually fell apart as I got into the elevator. Yes, there is wireless internet if you have a laptop, but no computers for use by guests. Also no telephone book in room, when asked they said they must be out -not even one at front desk for me to borrow. Worst of all no bathtub stopper, I asked they said they'd take care of it, next morning I asked again they said they must be out. The breakfast bar was disappointing. Also of note I had to check out a day early and if I hadn't let them know 24 hours before I planned to leave there would have been no refund on the night. The location is good and plenty of parking.

made reservation based on the good price of the room and pictures looked good. Get there and the place is very old. Room not very clean. I had to buy cleaning supplies and reclean the bathroom before I would use it. Old bar of soap was left in the shower. Bed very uncomfortable. Very noisy. Could hear everything going on in the hall plus screaming child next door. I was scared to death the elevator was going to quit working because it was so old. We stayed in Carevelle Towers. Would not recommend. I don't plan to stay again.
