Older building, beginning to deteriorate. Not within easy walking distance to the usual Capital Hill locations, though close enough to the ballpark. Missing amenities like a coffee maker or refrigerator in your room, or free continental breakfast. Room wasn't ready when I arrived, though I booked it a month earlier, and the staff was not especially helpful or knowledgable.

it looks like 80s hotel but it was clean and good. good location and very kind, friendly staffs. in the night, window view was really nice. we could see the capitol.

The room was large and the beds were extremely comfortable. The staff at the front desk, gift shop and lounge were very friendly and helpful. The view from the room was great as we could see the Washington monument and the Capital. We were able to walk to the new baseball stadium for a game. The location was great. The dining room was being renovated while we were there so meals were available in the lounge. We definitely will stay again the next time we travel to DC!

The Capital Skyline Best Western has a great location, just six blocks from the capital, but we also wanted a good room--that we did not get. I came on business and my daughter and husband came up to share the weekend in DC. The first day maids came in and made the beds but skipped the floors. The second day they didn't even bother to come in. I went down to the front desk (which always has lines and is understaffed) and asked to have the room cleaned. An hour later a maid came with towels and took out the trash. 2 of the towels she brought in were dirty. Having a clean room and clean linens is basic. When I asked why the room wasn't cleaned I was told it had been marked down to be skipped. No apology. The dirty towels (one with blood on it) were just a bit too much. Both my husband and I woke up with back aches, bad mattresses. The hotel needs a concierge, and more desk people (they all worked very hard) The pool was nice, and the location is great.

Food is terrible but otherwise a handy location (the Capitol is walkable in about 15 mins), nice rooms and clean.

We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay, from our room conditions to the gift shop. The Front Desk staff were courteous and very helpful whenever we had questions or needed any type of assistance; additionally, check-in and ?out was a breeze. The bar/restaurant staff were especially congenial and made us feel comfortable and at home. The shuttle driver was so friendly and seemed to thoroughly enjoy his job! We are leaving this ?recommended? comment on online travel website to relate our experience for others' consideration when they anticipate travel to D.C.

my family stayed for 1 night at this best western hotel. overall, we had a pleasant stay. the staff were friendly and courteous as well. check in time is at 3 pm, we arrived at 9:30 am. we were not allowed to check in early because there are no rooms available at that time, but the good thing is, they gave us a keycard for the parking. we were able to park our car in the hotel basement even though we have not checked in yet. at least this gave us a peace of mind that our car is safely parked in the hotel garage rather than it is parked in the streets, while we went out to see the DC attractions. taxi from the hotel is not a problem, taxis are waiting outside. we went back to the hotel by lunch time and had lunch in the hotel restaurant. oh boy, they serve good food. we were allowed to check in at around 2 pm and our room is cozy and well equipped. it is also clean. so all in all, my family had a pleasant 1 night stay. surely we will go back.

The hotel was a good location, but difficult to find coming from the Capital (walking). Staff was nice and very helpful in finding a place to dine. The shuttle was a great added benefit, but more times should be available. The shuttle also seemed to be late throughout the day, making it difficult to know whether you missed your trip downtown or not. A return shuttle would be an even greater benefit to guests!!

Good service at reasonable price. One inconvenient thing is that the location. It's too far from the center and also far from the metro station.

The location of this hotel is 1.8 mi from the National Mall, so within walking distance. If you must take a cab, it is only a few bucks to the Mall, so perfect location. The Restaruant on premises was under remodeling, BUT the food was very tasty for an average menu. Everything was always hot and service was good. The rooms were clean and fresh. For the reasonable price, I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget. I give it 3 1/2 stars

Good location - 15 mins walk to US Capitol building. On site restaurant is convienient but Dinners are very average. Breakfast choices were good. Staff were friendly and helpful. "Green" breakfast program is a great idea. Free breakfast if you do not require housekeeping to clean your room - done on a day to day basis.

My husband and I stayed here with our teenage son and a teenage exchange student. The hotel is older, but very clean with comfortable beds. I can't say enough about the staff. Everyone--from the front desk to the bar tender--was very helpful, friendly and accomodating. The hotel is within walking distance to the Capitol building; however they also offer a hotel shuttle to various places along the Mall. The Metro is a short walk and cab rides were inexpensive. The hotel has a bar and restaurant, but there were not many other restaurants close by, but again, the cab ride was inexpensive. The hotel offers a nice breakfast for less than $10 and there is a McDonalds across the street. We would definitely stay again.

Read horrible reviews for this place but really wanted a Best Western close to the sites. It is in slummy section of town but if you have your own car that shouldn't be a problem. Hotel is clean, room nicely furnished. Pool is a welcome relief on hot days. We enjoyed our stay.

I came to the hotel early in the morning. I knew a room wouldn't be available, but I asked them to confirm reservation, which they did. When I came back in the afternoon to check-in they said I wasn't in the system. I stood around for almost 30 minutes while they put me in the system. The property is slightly run down and you can see the top of the Capitol building over some sort of industrial space. The hotel is near a fire house, so there's quite a bit of noise, even at night. It's possible to walk to the Mall, but it's not pleasant. I've stayed at other DC 3-star hotels, and this is more like a 2-star.

The hotel needs renovation badly. Rooms are dark with old furniture,TV and linens. Heater could not be regulated. Personnel were very good and helpful. Ad states two blocks from Capital. Problem is you cannot walk there because of street layout. If price is important, Ok but taxis are required to get into town and that negates the price advantage.

Hotel sits in a high crime area of DC. Room was horrible- no AC, smelly, moldy.Customer service was horrendous. Checked out after 1 night and was charged for 2 nights stay."

this is a lovely hotel, it is clean and comfortable. the front desk personnel were friendly and quick. our room was clean with very comfortable beds and lots of towels. we didn't get room service but the hotel has a restaurant (diner) where the staff were very nice and helpful. we had dinner the night we arrived and later we relaxed at the hotels own full service bar where the bartender seemed to know everyone and when we left for the night he stopped us to tell us all thanks for visiting. the buffet breakfast the next morning had fresh warm eggs, french toast, home fries, bacon, juice, coffee and you could even make your own waffles. check out was noon, that extra hour was great and we didn't have to rush out. overall the staff and hotel were more than expected for the price and all 4 of us agreed, we'd stay there again.
