Staff was friendly and helpful with directions. Overnight stay included a breakfast buffet. Pool and jacuzzi a plus. Rooms were super clean and modern. Decor and style made it cozy. Hotel close to the I-70 highway.

Clean attractive lobby/bar/restaurant. Not located in the safest part of town. Lobby was nice, but for the priceI paidI expected better will not return to this hotel, not located near anything good.

Loved the hotel and will definately return to this location. Staff was extremely friendly, hotel was very clean and loved the food in the restaurant. This was a perfect location and as a female traveler I felt very safe in the hotel - Thank you !

The Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka is just more of the same. It has the same coffee maker, the same decorations, the same bland, greasy, tasteless food in the hotel restaurant, the same friendly but less-than-competent service and the same uncomfortable furniture as every other middling hotel in America.

While we did not utilize the hotels amenities during our stay we, nonetheless, found the Capital Plaza Hotel to be a first class hotel at a great price. The hotel is away from major restaurants and shopping centers but considering the size of the city these locations are only a short drive away and was conveniently located near the friends we were visiting.

Beautiful hotel, relaxing atmosphere, excellent guest relations. There is nothing about this hotel to not like. The hotel is located in the heart of the business district in Topeka, but close enough for easy access to major highways. We really needed a good nights rest with a nice view of approaching thunderstorms while feeling safe and secure, what we got was a wonderful upscale hotel experience which we have already shared with others. From the wonderful hotel staff to the service and facilities it was all a great experience! Wish we had more time to enjoy it all.

My family stayed here for my nieces wedding and we had a fabulous time. The hotel is very nice and clean and the staff was wonderful. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Nice staff, clean rooms. Great grass areas for pets. No pet fee as long as your pet doesn't make a mess. (*fee if he does). Restaurant is nice but pricey.

Very disappointing weekend. When we checked in all seemed fine. We got to our room and it was a smoking room with two double beds. I had a confirmation for a non-smoking room and a king sized bed (my husband is 6'4"). When I asked them to correct the mistake they told me that my requests for a non-smoking/king was only a request and it didn't matter that I had my confirmation number and the reservation details in writing. So, obviously the Capitol Plaza Hotel sold our room to someone else who probably paid a higher price. Very frustrating having to find another place to stay at 8pm on Saturday night when we were involved with a weekend event at the Expo Center.

Convenient to downtown, spacious, nice atrium. Smallish room, no other dining within walking distance.

The hotel was very clean, nice comfortable bed, and friendly hotel staff. For a place that allows dogs, I was quite impressed by the cleanliness of the room and common areas. I would definately stay again.

Great customer service. Outdated - should be a 2.5 star hotel.

I stayed at the Capitol Plaza because it was the site for a convention I was attending, and I did not have transportation to stay at another hotel. Some of my collegues stayed at the Marriot just down the road and they had microwaves and mini-fridges in their rooms for the same price. Another "extra" that I expected for the price at the Capitol Plaza was to have a shower curtain rod that curves out for more "elbow room." The wireless internet was free during my stay, but I heard and read that it was a mistake and was supposed to be charging me. In this day and age, internet should be free. Other than those suggested additions to their rooms, I was very pleased with my stay at the Capitol Plaza. I was especially pleased and impressed with the free shuttle to areas around the hotel. I needed to make a drugstore run and they drove me there and waited for me to shop. They also drove me to church Sunday morning, and drove me to the local college library in the afternoon so I could do some research. The staff was amazing!

We had to go to the restaurant to flag down someone so that we could check in. The stay was pleasant, but we had to wait for someone to get to the desk to check out also. We made the mistake of going to the hotel restaurant for lunch one day for something quick, and got out of there almost 2 hours later, which was very frustrating as we were one of only 3 tables with customers. It appeared that they had a large conference order that they were getting ready for. It took over an hour to get our mediocre food after we order, then another 20 minutes to flag someone down to bring our check. As far as I can tell, this is one of the better places to stay in Topeka, but in a larger town, it would not last a week.

I loved this hotel! It is beautiful and everyone was so friendly.

The hotel itself was very inviting, the staff was very professional and the entrance and lobby was very relaxing and very clean; however, the only complaint that I have is for the money that was spent, the hotel room was very, very uncomfortable because there was no thermastat in the room. It was hot and rainy the day that I stayed there and the hotel did not have the airconditiong on, so there was no way to even get air circulating in the room.

Great bed and pillow selection. The hotel was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable.
