Cheap Ticket's inability to book 3 rooms on one transaction is a recipe for disaster. Due to work schedules, we arrived at hotel around midnight to find a parking lot full of boats, thousands of mosquitos on the exterior doors, and one of our 3 room having been given away to other guests. Hotel staff said this latter problem occurred because they didn't receive our 2nd Internet transaction with my 3rd room before they booked it over the phone direct. (It was sitting right there on their desk.) Bear in mind, this is an extremely busy town in the summertime. By dumb luck, the manager found us a third room in another hotel way across town and they paid for it, but what a hassle for us. And it was no picnic for those I left behind at the Capitol Inn. My daughter's family froze because the AC wouldn't shut off, and my son's family (with their 7 week old baby) had to negotiate around wet carpet due to a roof leak. Also, their AC didn't seem to work at all. My advice to families considering this hotel is leave it to the fishermen. They are a hardy lot and can handle such inconveniences. And my advice to fishermen is book the room by phone as this hotel doesn't seem to understand the term: "Internet reservations".

We arrived about 12am and turned the air on as soon as we got there, my husband was up at 3am because our air was still not on. I decided to get up and shower to cool off, after I was dressed, we opened our door and the cool air came in from out side. It was really warm in our room. The front desk person told me there wasn't much she could do, since the maintaince guy didn't come in to 8.

I was travelling through the area and found it to be a value hotel - cheap, clean and easy spot to explore the Badlands, Mt Rushmore (2.5 hrs drive) and surrounding area.
