Not the best experience for a new Lion resort member, ignorant staff rude, not willing to help, messed up our rooms that was the first three days wasted due to their lack of interest for paying guests. Never go again

The best hotel in Paphos!

We were moved here by Lion resorts as the accommodation that we booked was not up to much we were not dissappointed we were in a luxury 3 bedroom suite with our own jacuzzi on the patio overlooking the ocean, everyone was nice to us me and my 2 daughters and we had a blast. We did not want to come home. We would go back

I booked Capital Coast Resort and Spa through few days earlier. It was classified as 5star hotel. This was not the case. The Capital coast resort and spa its not a hotel or resort. Yes its modern, yes it has everything it advertises like fully equipped kitchen with anything you will look for, a dvd flat screen tvs, pay movies cabled internet... but its not a hotel. Its like apartments, modern apartments around a communal swimming pool with a small restaurant that does buffet breakfast and dinner. It does not have room service. We checked in on Friday where there was only the receptionist in the area. It was empty. Its a new building (built 2008). Its classified by CTO as A class apartments and its mainly used as time-exchange. Thats the catch why it was so cheap (that I did not know). Receptionists were very rude. I asked when the hairstudio opens she said dont know, when the spa opens said dont know call and ask them. I asked for late check out and told me I had to state the exact time of checking out because every extra hour it would cost 10euro more... I laughed and left. Pool towels are only changed every 3 days and you have to know which day to go and pick your clean towel. Fairly it was clean but the rooms were badly built with 1 year old walls with cracks and humidity and warned down... I booked a studio suite with half board, but was upgraded to a 3 bedroom suite (the had a lot rooms empty). Upgrading me with my wife and baby son in a 3 bedroom aprtment was not the best. It had 3 bedrooms, 2 queen and 1 with two beds all with ensuite bathrooms and 2 balconies all facing sea and part pool view. If it was my apartment I would loved it. But for someone that came for 2 days weekend it was not the right choice. It had everything advertised. First night did not eat at the restaurant cause it was table h'ote and we had our baby son (18month) that would not find anything to eat. I also skipped breakfast next day. Pool bar prices are cheap but again ridiculous. I asked for a bottled beer but they did not serve me because they would not give me the bottle because european union laws do not allow them to sell beer by the bottle, it had to be in a glass. I did not get anything. Saturday buffet dinner was ok. It had a lot of selection, breakfast was ok too. FYI dinner coast 20eur/pp so do not prepay. Spa is good compared with prices charged. I had a 60min 4 hand massage for 55eur. In other hotels the may charge 150-200eur for this service. It wasnt the best I had but for price paid it was enough. A good point was the swimming pool for the children. 40cm all over and my baby son enjoyed it a lot. Do not look for a beach by the hotel. The nearest is around 300mtrs opposite Venus hotel that has a lovely sandy secluded bay. I will not recommend to people that look for a deluxe hotel and not recommend if your stay is less than 3-4 days.
