The Candlewood Suites San Antonio is located within 10 miles of downtown San Antonio. It is a short drive away from the Riverwalk, the Alamo and slightly farther away from attractions such as SeaWorld San Antonio and the San Antonio Zoo.
The Candlewood Suites San Antonio is a drive of roughly 8 miles from the San Antonio International Airport.
The suites at the Candlewood Suites San Antonio all contain separate sleeping and living areas. Housekeeping is provided once per week. The suites contain among their standard amenities kitchens with full-size refrigerators and stovetops, multi-line telephones with voicemail service, VCRs and CD players, private baths with hairdryers, desks and chairs and comfortable furnishings.
The Candlewood Suites San Antonio has within the facility complimentary washers and dryers, a 24-hour fitness center, a CD and DVD library which is provided free to guests and a convenience store which is open 24-hours per day and which sells snacks, soft drinks, frozen food and breakfast choices.

My greatest worry always with any hotel is the cleanliness .I was well pleased with that .My eight year old and I stayed in a single and expected very minimal amenities . The room was small , but not to small . It had a small kitchen with dishes , dishwasher , and a microwave . I would would use this hotel again .

Great amenities, comfortable bed, full kitchen. No daily house keeping, parking is inconvenient for loading/unloading. This is an extended stay hotel so the house keeping is once a week which means that dirty towels must be traded at front desk. They provide free laundry machines which is great. The single bed rooms are an OK size but only have a small queen bed. This means if you aren't traveling with someone you want to get really close with, someone might be on the floor. The full kitchen is great. Full size fridge, stove, sink, microwave. Over all a great place.

We were very pleased with our visit. My daughter, her 6 week old baby and I stayed there for 3 nights. The suite was very nice, clean and pretty. It had everything we needed in the kitchen. The bed was VERY comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to check out a few movies. They had a good selection to choose from. The only thing that was not ideal was that the parking seemed to be all at the end of the building. It was not very convenient to the front door and elevators. But, overall, it was a great place to stay. The price was super! We had a full kitchen with supplies, living room with a couch and recliner, bedroom and bath. It sure beats the typical two queen bed motel rooms with one hard chair to sit in. The price was less expensive than many motels that I have stayed in. I will look for this hotel where ever I travel next time.

The room was okay for * dollars i wouldn't have wanted to pay anymore than that. The refrigerator was not cold enough and the airconditioner was leaking water the first day that we got to the room,but the front desk service was great and they corrected the problem as soon as possible.I wasn't real happy with the noise level of the guest above us,but after the second day the noise level was better.

The room at the Candlewood Suites in San Antonio was big and roomy! I liked that they had a full fridge and range stove. I also enjoyed shoping in their grocery store that was on site. Everytime I go back to San Antonio, I will be staying at this hotel.

The beds had Tempurpedic mattresses. I have NEVER slept so well at a hotel in my life! There is even a pillow"menu" if you perfer a softer or firmer pillow. The Hotel was very clean. The rooms had wooden floors in the kitchen. The kitchen had a new roll of papertowels and dish washing soap. You get an excellent stay for a great price! I would recommend this chain to ANYONE!!!

The hotel was nice and clean. The bed size was a queen but it felt like a twin size bed. Too small! The room had a stove, microwave, and fridge which is perfect for long stays. Too bad my trip was not that long.

No storage in the bathroom, probably due to the fact it was a handicap room. The bathroom was smelly, smelt like someone had mopped with a sour mop. The hotel location was great for what we needed, the amenities were nice, and the hotel staff was extra friendly. Other than the bathroom being smelly, it was overall a pretty good hotel.

The kitchen was handy for cooking in the morning since they offered no breakfast. Pool was closed, no complimentary breakfast, store prices were high, small room, room card keys would deactivate after every day. This hotel does not come with the amenities that the other hotels in the area come with such as complimentary breakfast. The water from the faucets and the kitchen sink was white and cloudy. The only thing that was positive was the kitchenette if someone did not want to eat out everyday and planned on preparing their own meals from this room.

Clean and value. Only one bed in the room. It was nice to have a kitchen and fridge in the room. There was no daily maid service so towels had to be traded at the front desk, garbage piled up. Room was tidy and staff was nice. Hard to find.

Location. Service, facility and atmosphere were disappointing. Arrived late and the front desk was closed. Had to walk around to the back door. Atmosphere and decor of the hotel were depressing and outdated.

Candlewood Cupboard. Smelled food. When I first checked in to the hotel my room was scheduled to be on the first floor. When I walked to my room I noticed that the hallway smelled strongly like Chinese food. When I opened the door I was overwhelmed by the odor. I was given another room on the third floor which smelled like Indian food. It took an entire bottle of Febreeze and several candles to get rid of the smell. I also found several long hairs in the room. One in the bed and one in the bathroom. The motion sensor on the thermostat kept the room from staying cold at night (since there was no movement while I was sleeping). I complained at the front desk and was never told how to overcome the problem.

Handicap room was excellent. Difficult to locate. Rooms need to be available by 2 pm. I don't know if the hotel was short handed or understaffed.
