We stayed here a few years ago, and it was in better shape then. We weren't looking to spend a lot of money on this trip, and this was a great deal. There is a kitchenette, which is always convenient, and it's very convenient to shopping, businesses and Jaguar Stadium.

The inside of the hotel looks almost nothing at all like the pictures provided online. It was MUCH smaller and less clean than I was lead to believe. One example of a cleanliness issue - there were cigarette burns on the duvet. I would definitely rate it lower than a standard Best Western. There was no continental breakfast, only coffee. They did not have any form of room service. The staff was not knowledgeable about important (albeit VERY standard) travel information concerning their location and surrounding areas. They also were not the friendliest staff I have ever worked with. During my time there, there was hardly ever anyone at the desk. I had to use the phone at the front desk to call the operator, which made a buzzing noise in the office to alert them that someone was at the desk. They smiled sometimes, but never really seemed happy to be doing their job. From 11pm to 7am there is no one in the front office. If you have to check out during those hours you have to pick up your bill from a little box next to the desk. So if there are any questions or anything you need during that time, you are out of luck. This hotel had supposedly recently undergone a renovation, but I could not tell. The gym facility looked perfectly fine and there certainly weren't any terrible conditions. But for having undergone renovations, it was definitely not impressive. Many of the in-room amenities were clearly old, such as the refrigerator and dish-washer. Although, I was somewhat impressed that there was an in-room dish-washer at all. The room came with a few dishes and pieces of silverware, but it would have been nice to have more than just a few pieces. Since we were there three days, it wasn't a big deal as I could easily wash the dishes by hand. But if we had been there longer, it would have been nice to have more than just a couple of dishes. One thing that was a nice little surprise was the "Candlewood Cabinet." Included in the gym/laundry (which was free by the way) area w

Clean, close to highway ans felt safe there. All In all it was a very pleasant experience. The quality of the room was great and good deals can be found through Priceline. I would definitely stay at Candlewood again if I ever am in Jacksonville again.

Affordable and clean. Hotel was very clean and very affordable. Location was great and still very quiet. Hotel staff was friendly. Furniture was a little dated, but in very good condition. Pet friendly. Air conditioner worked really well. I would definitely stay here again.

Room was well laid out and well worth the cost. It had everything needed for long or short stay. The only real problem was the distance to local restaurants. Food was available in the pantry but it was a little expensive. Strongly recommend the hotel. I will stay there again if in Jacksonville.

Almost perfect . Just add a casino and it would be. No casino. From the parking lot to the trash can under the sink with the disposal, it was clean and neat. Having read reviews giving this place an average of 9 in satisfaction. My expectations were very high. This was better than my last visit to the Trump Plaza.

The Candlewood Suites is a clean inexpensive hotel right off Butler Boulevard and ideally located for patients visiting Mayo Clinic. Virtually all the other options will cost you $$ more. None of the hotels in this area are very up to date. The CS is also a little run down and looks in need of a refreshing. But its not too bad and compares well to the others. The only real complaint is make sure of the size of the room. Not all rooms are true suites with a separate living area and sleeper sofa. The room we stayed in was more like a small studio. Nonetheless, I would stay there again in the larger room.
