Good value for money. Convenient location inside the I-610 beltway. Nice snack bar area where food sold on honor system. Quiet. Tasty Cajun restaurant in strip center within walking distance. The entrance to Candlewood Suites is hard to find off the I-610 access road. The turn-off street is poorly marked and poorly lit. It is a divided road and I almost turned into oncoming traffic. I had to go up to West park Dr and turn right and then right again to arrive at the location.

When I checked in, the man at the front desk was swamped with people but exceedingly nice. He asked me if my reservation was for a non-smoking room and I told him no and so he said they had put me down for smoking and he would change it and give me a non-smoking room. I went up to the room and stepping out of the elevator it was already smokey. I opened the door and it was even smokier. I went back down to the front desk and told him that although the room says non-smoking, someone definitely broke the rule and it was very smokey. I thought he was going to give me a hard time, but he quickly and happily changed my room and admitted that the last room was on the smoking floor, so he wasn't surprised. My stay from then on was great. The bed was pretty comfy, TV reception was great, they have all kinds of hotel amenities like free laundry (but not soap), a wall of convenience items that you can charge to your room (sodas, chips, refrigerated items, movies to rent from the office for free. Lots of people were using the fitness room and seemed to like it. It had all the items in the room to be a convenient little studio apartment...fridge, microwave, stove top, sink with dispose-all, pots and pans. I would definitely stay here again. It was nothing fancy, but very customer friendly.

I travel 6-10 a year for business, and 2-4 for times for vacation or too see family. I stayed at the Candlewood Suites, Houston-Galleria for almost a week. I wish there was a Candlewood Suites in every town I travelled to because I would stay there and no place else... it really was that good of an experience! Consistently excellent... Great rooms! Great beds! Great geographic location in the city with good restaurants and shopping close by and easy freeway/highway access! Busy area but quiet in the hotel! Friendly, helpful staff... they really made a difference for me! If they had a free breakfast I would have rated this as a perfect travel experience.

The staff was rude as well as the general manager. There are no restaurants nearby the hotel and the location is awful.

We thought we could request a room with another bed (or at least with a fold-out) but they couldn't even do that. When we called the front desk they told us they were an "extended stay" hotel and that they didnt offer anything but only single bed rooms.

The hotel could have been cleaner, and some deodorizer would have been good for the room.

Clean, quiet, and comfortable stay in the Candlewood Suites Galleria Houston. Room was spacious and kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with full size refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, and two-burner stove top. In addition, glasses, dishes, silverware, pots, etc. were provided. Wish I had the time to spend a week or more there. Also, one of the best features is the free laundry service. I highly recommend this hotel.

Really good location for Galleria and Rice University and getting on Loop 610 or the Southwest Freeway. Main level has free washers and dryers and a cupboard with all sorts of food. You take it on the honor system, signing a card with your name and room number. Very helpful desk clerks who know directions to many places.

Sent to 4 rooms at check-in before a suitable one was found. And that needed sheets, towels and cleaning.

The hotel people treated as if I should not expect the same treatment that a person paying the full fare would get. My room was paid for a week, I expected to have this room for the week. The main reason for the room was to accommodate my sister who was to stay there while I was in the hospital. When I returned to the hotel, I was told I did not have a room there. I told them that I had a room paid for and I wanted it. They told me that if a room is not used for a few days, they would cancel the deal and clean the room out. They did just that, I still do not have my belonging they took. They did give me a room for that night, it was on a floor where they put a lot of young girls, who didn't go to bed until 2am. I did not get any rest. I expect to get compensated for my clothing and the fact that they rented the room that I had paid for. If need be I will take legal action to get my belonging back...

I liked where the hotel was located. However, the rooms needed updating. The carpet carried a musty smell which made the room unpleasant upon first arriving there. I would also liked to have had a couch in the room to make the stay just a little more relaxing. One bright spot: my wife and I thought the staff was excellent. I've checked into various hotels where the person behind the counter seemed as if they had not only had a bad day but also a bad month. One other strong point about the Candlewood Suites Galleria Houston was the cost of the rooms per day. I thought, as a consumer or customer, it was a very good value for us especially being retired.

The room was smelly; it has an odor if something burnt there or that of smoke. No room service provided in two days stay. Slept on same bed sheet for two nights, even no one even fixed the bed. I myself spread sheets and fixed bed before sleeping on the 2nd night.

Great location, very clean with the exception of the few fire ants I found in the room. I saw about 6 in the 3 days I was there. It had a full kitchen and a DVD and VCR player. You can check out movies for free. You can also use the washer and dryers for free. I will definitely stay in the Candlewood Suites Galleria Houston again when I visit Houston.
