The Candlewood Suites Clear Lake offers affordable studio and one-bedroom suites. The hotel is conveniently located directly across from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. The hotel is approximately one mile from Bayer Nature Center, about two miles from Clear Lake, and three miles from NASA, the Space Center Museum, and Baybrook Mall. For onsite recreation, take advantage of the stair stepper, treadmill, and exercise bike in the small fitness room. Each guestroom's fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals in the comfort and privacy of your own accommodations. The Candlewood Cupboard is open 24-hours a day, and offers a variety of affordable snacks and meals at nominal prices. Guests will also be able to buy sodas for only 25 cents. Area restaurants include Pappadeaux, Outback Steakhouse, Tommy's Patio Cafe, Enzo's Pasta & Vino, Mason Jar, Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant, International House of Pancakes, Denny's, and Einstein Bros. Bagel's. For added convenience, the hotel offers a video/CD library, free guest laundry facilities, parking, and late check-in 24 hour assistance. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes' drive from Houston Hobby airport. Suite types include Studio, Studio Double, and One-Bedroom. What we liked most was the "cupboard" which had a lot of things like snacks, sodas, microwave diners, cans, mayo, etc. and the prices were great ($.50 cent soda cans, $.75 cents microwave popcorn, etc)- Very very convenient for families, specially if you're staying several days. It also has in-room refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, dishes, silverware, pots and pans... Everything was very clean and nice. No fancy lobby with granite countertops and marble floors here, they put the money where they counts - the rooms and amenities.

The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. This hotel was configured primarily for longer stays by business people. The rooms were well appointed for that purpose but were intended for no more than 1-2 people. When we realized that there was no comfortable accommodation for a 3rd person, we were offered a suite with a hide-a-bed for a modest price increase. I would suggest the hotel keep a few roll away beds for future guest needs. As the hotel was configured for business, there was no swimming pool, but there was a well-appointed fitness center and a well-stocked after hours canteen for food, at a price. We were eating out and had other activities, so we did not utilize either of these features.

Candlewood Suites was extremely comfortable. We travel with our pets and they were welcomed. The kitchen facilities were amazing. I felt like I was at home. I believe that we could stay indefinetly and be very comfortable. The room was spacious, ample closet space as well as ample seating if we had guests. The fitness room was great. I normally walk each day, but I used the fitness room instead. I felt comfortable and safe. The location was convient to many resturants and a mall. I would not hestitate to stay here again.

Clean, and attractive. Liked amenities, VCR/DVD/hair dryer, kitchen. Nothing! Liked the hotel very much. This hotel more than met my needs beginning with the price. Everything fits location, cleanliness, and friendly staff.

Candlewood Suites more than met our expectations. We just wanted a quiet get away and it fulfilled that for us. We actually stayed in the room and watched movies, totally relaxing, will do it again. Had we wanted, there was tons of shopping and great restaurants very nearby..

The kitchen, recliner and location. The heating/AC. The hotel staff was extremely nice. Since our room was not ready they immediately asked if we'd like something to drink. Unfortunately, they are in the process of installing new thermostats and they won't go lower than 74. Not good in Houston's heat and humidity. They did however, change our room to one that had not been converted yet and we were able to stay cool.

Cleanliness, room amenities, super low price. Too few TV Channels. My room was very clean and comfortable. The entire building smelt great! The continental breakfast was extremely well stocked. The staff was friendly and responsive. For the low price wasn't expecting much, but was plesantly suprised! The cupboard area was a great added convenience.

Nothing like it. Just kitchen I like but very small. Nothing I like. Bad hotel, dirty, small so bad, front desk girl so rude, they didn't clean our room for two days, kitchen is very small. No shampoo, no bathroom trash can, water was licking, so bad, never go again.

Suite with separate bedroom. Amenities in the room. Food and beverage store. No pool. Ice maker in fridge did not work. The Candlewood is located about 4 or 5 miles off of I45 south of Houston. It only took about 20 minutes to drive to Kemah, and about 40 minutes to drive to Galveston Beach. The hotel looks new on the inside and out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for traveling with children since it was a suite with a separate bedroom. The kids slept on the couch/bed, and there was a VCR/DVD combo for them to watch. The hotel even provides VHS and DVD movies at no charge. There is a nice fitness room and a very well stocked food and beverage store. The room has a full size refrigerator with ice maker. Although the ice maker in our room did not work, the staff provided us with ice right away. The kitchen has a range and a microwave oven. The high speed internet was free and worked great. All in all, this is a perfect hotel for any traveler or business person, as long as you can get by without a pool. I would say the Candlewood is a strong Two Star, or 8.5 out of 10. It is not posh or flashy, but just a nice and clean place to stay. I would stay there again.

Good location. I thought I was getting room with 2 beds, they did nothing to help with the prob. I did not enjoy my stay. The room was a suite yet only had 1 bed, no fold out, nothing. I won't ever go back to this hotel.

The room and hotel were much nicer than expected. It was too far from Galveston. Staff was very friendly. Rooms and hotel in general were much nicer than I expected for 2 stars.

Clean confortable rooms. First floor was under rennovations. Nothing fancy but a nice hotel with rennovated rooms. Suite has refrigerator, microwave, dishes the whole kitchen going on. Stayed there before and will stay again.

The bed was very comfortable and it was nice having a microwave & refrigerator in room. The refrigerator was very noisy which affected our sleep. It was very affordable and comfortable as well as clean. It was in a good location.

Everything. Best extended stay hotel I have been in. They make every effort to make you feel at home. The staff was great and the management knows how to please there customers. Hope it never changes. There services and extras like free laundry machines, the little store items for sale, pop corn in the room, DVD players in the room and many others was a welcome change from other extended stay hotels. Great Job! I will make sure I stay there every time I visit Houston.

Price. No service on weekends, no towels, clean beds. No room service on weekends, when I was there. Toilet plugged took hours to fix since there was no maintenance. No ability to pick smoking non-smoking room until you get to hotel, which is very important to my wife who is allergic to smoke. Room was clean when we arrived, did have on Monday morn a breakfast bar etc, but not on weekend.

Recliner in room and on property drinks/snacks facility. Would have like to had extended breakfast hours on weekends, but it was free. And McDonalds was accross parking lot. We were pleasantly pleased with the Candlewoods Suites. The rooms were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free continental breakfast from 6 to 9 am was an unexpected plus.
