If it had been cheaper...I paid £75, which was too much for this really. On laterooms I had chosen a midnight arrival from the drop-down menu, at 10pm I was on the M4 and the hotel (call centre probably) rang to ask when I was coming as reception shuts at 11pm. Luckily I was half an hour away. I asked how I'd have got in at 12 and was told 'that's why we try to ring'! Chalet room walls thin, not all full, and the ones occupied seemed to be right next to each other, presumably to save the cleaning staff a few extra yards in the morning. All pretty soulless, but functional I suppose. Only one grievance- it's really cheap not to put one socket in the room to charge a phone from.

We stayed her as went to see Take That at Millenium Stadium. This meant that the cost was almost trippled. Would not come back to Cardiff to see any concerts again as apparantly all hotels do this on such occaisions. The Hi de Hi style chalet was very basic ( for the £125 cost for one room, one night and no brekfast!!!) but prob acceptable for the usual ammount charged. It is quite a way to travel from the town centre. My advice is to get a bus as much cheaper than taxi. Dont think I would stay here again unless as a last resort, and will choose London as a first choice next time.

good clean room central locationwe stayed here for a weekend break. the rooms were clean and tidy and the bed was a good size too. top value for money as across the road in another hotel it was £75 and friends of ours walked in and Straight back out of there and booked into the camponile. will definately use this hotrel again.

Value for money at £48 room onlyYou get what you pay for and we were happy at £48 room only. Staff on arrival were very pleasant but accommodation a little like Hi- De- Hi camp! Chalet bedrooms were very clean and functional but basic. We had a good nights sleep and would be happy to stay again. No frills but suited us on this occasion.

Value for MoneyI have stayed before. For me it serves a purpose, somewhere to sleep and log on through the wireless service (i think chargeable through t mobile). So to sum up its practical, clean and fine for somewhere to put your head down. I am sure I will be back again on business.

Our room was clean and comfortable and the receptionist and other staff were friendly. Normally it is very reasonably priced but I did pay extra as it was Valentine's Day and the England v. Wales rugby so I was lucky to find anywhere at all. It was close enough for nights out in Cardiff (approximately £12 in a taxi)Tiny thing- no plug sockets in the room at all so couldn't use my hair straighteners!

Reflective of eventsCharged a lot more for the second night, due to the rugby being on, but had nothing extra for it! A lot of money just for a room with no breakfast, but clean and comfortable.

Typical Campanile, which is based but very functional. The light by the hairdyer had been taken away so I couldn't see properly to dry my hair or apply make-up while my other half was in the bathroom. At this time of year it's a good idea to ask for an extra duvet as it can get chilly but staff are always very accommodating. Breakfast was disappointing; £7.95 for one rasher of bacon, one sausage, beans and a hash brown (we don't like fried egg, tomato or mushrooms and they couldn't substitute scrambled egg or more bacon which we do like) is a bit steep. Likewise the next day I thought I'd just have a croissant, orange juice and coffee and that was still £7.95. My parents are pensioners who only had toast, tea and jam on their second day for that price each, but there's no other option unless you bring your own. The croissants were very tasty though. It would be nice to offer that at £5, maybe? The staff were friendly and the place was clean and well-situated for where we needed to go. Thanks again for having us, Campanile!

very comfartable and enjoyable friendly hotel.the room, and service was fantastic, i would definatley stay here again, and recommend it to friends.the food was outstanding, with individual cooked breakfast, not your usual mass produced hotel hot plate breakfast. the evening meal was also outstanding cooked to perfection and quite quickly to, throughly recommend trying the resturant.while there is some road noise to the rear rooms it is not worht worrying about.my only criticism is the heater in the room did not give off much heat.

I was very surprised to not have a switched socket in the room which I could use to charge my phone & lap top.

Have stayed with Camponile many times over the last few years mainly on business. There has been a noticable decline in the standard, quality and variety of the food on offer. I regret this as it's always been, hitherto, the main attraction for my stay. I hope that this was a one off and that there will be a return to previous standards.

if you want a good nights sleep don' stay hear, it's like staying at the hi de hi camp. You can hear people breathing in the next room. Heating is very poor, stayed in winter and it was freezing .you have to switch on heating when you go into room and hope it warms up. Hotel need s a revamp or knocking down well over priced.

This hotel is in a great position for Cardiff if you are in a car. The hotel was clean comfortable and had everything you would need for a good nights' rest. I would think it ideal for a family who wish to use it as a base to explore cardiff and surrounding area. Breakfast was a bit expensive at £6.95 each.

A budget hotel that delivers. Looking at previous reviews I can comment that it is now very clearly signposted from the motorway turn-off, also there is a mains socket available (used for the TV). When booking I paid the £50 cost with my credit card, but on arrival was told that this was to secure the room - I had not actally paid and would need to pay on arrival. I have yet to find if I have been charged twice! The room was not luxurious but comfortable and I have no complaints. I did not eat there so cannot comment on the food, but the bar and lounge area was adequate (little chef feel about it).

Good Value for Money. Car Park which is free, is on a fairly steep slope, so make sure your handbrake is A1. Getting stacks of luggage in and out of the rooms would be a struggle so travel light. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Chef's special on the nights I stayed was very tasty, plentiful and very good value.

budget accomodation that does what it says on the tin. it wasn't the easiest hotel to find, but mainly to our fault as we didn't take the exit we were supposed to.even though we got there just before 11pm the receptionist/bartender managed to prepare a sandwich for one of us.the hotel doesn't look it's best from the outside (maisonette style buidings give a council estate feel to it) but the room was comfortable enough and with all that's needed for a night stay.
