Helpful personel.We took tours which were recommended at the bus station, and found them quite satisfactory.Spanish,however, is a must for that kind of tour.

Excellent Hotel in the tradition of Camino Reals but only 5% of the staff speak English! Also, it is a 30-40 Peso Taxi ride away from the City Centre. Good value for money though.

The hotel is beautifully designed, creatively built in and around the remnants of an old hacienda. The first room we were given was a bit small for two, so after we talked to the very helpful front desk staff, we were immediately moved to a larger room, which was perfect. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous, with traditional Mexican and international breakfast dishes and wonderful service. In a quiet part of town (the plus), but a bit far from the historic center (the minus). Overall, however, the trip into town was not a bad walk or cab ride, and the beauty, serenity, and good service of the hotel more than compensated. We would definitely stay at the Camino Real again.

my fiancee and i stayed there for 2 nites. the grounds of the hotel are beautiful. nicely located. staff is very helpful. rooms are spacious and well furnished. ideal for both families and couples. definetly would stay again

We stayed in a king room and the ceilings were vaulted brick - beautiful! I thought everything was really comfortable, the workout room was great - two treadmills, three bikes, weights - the pool was a nice area, but I don't think heated...we didn't go in, but did enjoy just reading at the side. The staff were all so friendly and did their best to be helpful and welcoming. The restaurant was good, but overpriced, but sometimes it was nice to just have a quick bite there instead of walking down the hill to town. Guanajuato is a great little city with so much character and such friendly people. The Camino Real is up a hill from the market/theater area...about a 10 minute walk or a $2-3 cab ride. We were at the Camino Real for a vacation and friends' wedding and it seemed to be a really accommodating venue - little chapel, nice sized reception room - everything all in one place.

First of all, this hotel is very easy to find, there are signs for it all over the city, wich is a big plus since we arrived late and very tired, and were in no mood to spend a couple of hours just finding the hotel. On arrival the staff was very nice and very helpful, the restaurant was overpriced and not bad, but not really good. the room was comfortable, our year old son was really happy running thru the room, thru the gardens and swimming in the pool. So in short, great location, great service, comfortable rooms, just watch the price and try to go at low season.

The only complaint is that the access to the beach is very limited. Other than that, room, fitness facilities, pool, and location are great. If you are there strictly for business is great, but for families I believe that beach is a must. especially in Cancun.

Camino Real Guanajuato, Gto. Good, Service arriving, the check-in was cortious and fast. Room was great in terms of size. Climatization was OK. Restaurant is beatifull. We loved the architecture. Very well taken care of. Breakfast buffet was great (As all Camino Real restaurants) Bad, Shower drain was partially obstructed. When showering you ended up with your feet sumerged in watter. Not to higenic from my perspective. The swimming pool as seen from our window (4th floor) appeared to be dirty. The water was cloudy. Not very inviting. At check out I required a PC + Internet access. Staff took me to the Business Room. I could not log in. Had issues with password. I requested help. They came over to help. They had problems with the password also. Had to locate their systems guy.

The Camino Real GuanaJuato was wonderful. The hotel, itself, is historic (an old mission) and the room I stayed in was incredible. It had an incredible vaulted ceiling and a view of the pool and courtyard. The staff spoke English very well and were able to assist me in getting around town. The amenities were great, including a business center with internet access (for a small fee). I highly recommend this place to escape to after a day of hiking around GuanaJuato.
